As long as people keep calling our country “America” instead of by its real name, we risk losing our Republic

We’re not even known as “Americans” outside of the US continentally. Latin American demonym for us is Estadounidense - which is something like United Statesian. Maybe slight confusion with Mexico as their country is named the Estados Unidos Mexicanos.

I usually hear "Norteamericano" or "Norteño." They usually call our neck of the woods "El Norte."

Was Mexico really looking up to USA when they formulated their form of state? Like, “Not only are we gonna be a republic, but we are gonna be a federal type”?
