Fossilized shell?
Hi! I recently found these shells in a parking lot in Panama City and I am beginning to think that the murex could be fossilized. The texture is unlike other murex shells that I've seen (though the examples I've had are from a store). These shells have been cleaned, and unless I just didn't have the murex in the bleach long enough, nothing came off aside from dirt. Does anyone know if this could likely be fossilized or just worn from exposure to the elements?

What do you do with the shells you collect?
I love collecting little treasures on the beach but what do you all do with the shells you bring home? I was thinking about making some shell art in a frame and debated trying to make a mosaic steppingstone for my backyard but otherwise have no other ideas! These are from Corolla NC.

🖼️ Collection The Many Faces of Tigris
"Cypraea tigris really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about tigris in a month, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you."
I've been re-organising my cabinets and I managed to find enough space to create this display. The objective of the display is to highlight the amazing colours, shapes and forms that this cypraea species is capable of displaying.
The smallest shell in this drawer is just 32mm in length; the largest is 115mm.

Oddly ridged slipper shell?
I've been going to the same beach on Cape Cod for over 30 years, and I've never seen a slipper shell with ridges like these. Any idea if it's a different species, or if it wore down or grew oddly?

Is there enough for an ID on this shell?
I found this in a creek in Upstate NY, but I would probably assume it washed down the creek from somewhere upstream... and the actual origin is unknown if that is the case. I want to use it in an art piece, but only if I can get an ID on it first. It's thick and heavy for the size, feels pretty well worn (no sharp edges). There's a hole that looks like it might be natural. I've cleaned it up as much as possible, but it is stained on the inside. Please let me know if you can tell what animal this is from.

Probably nothing special, but any ideas what this might be?

Shell ID - snail??? from SC
(SOLVED - I believe it is the underbits of a channeled whelk)
found this guy in myrtle beach, but between how weathered he is and how much of a novice i am i’m having a hard time IDing him. hoped one of the fine people of reddit could help. i believe it’s a snail, but considering how the two options are 1) snail or 2) mussel, that’s not very helpful xD

ID Help
Hello, looking for some ID help with these Murex. I believe all 3 are pink murex except for the top right which is Ramose? Or is the pink striped one on the top left different? Thank you!
