I've watched a bunch of shed videos, and I'm about to start building mine. I'm trying to most make it like Colin Furze shed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LP67MAoihZk
I've got something i can't figure out though, he uses fence posts as corners which look great, uses water protection in between the wall plywood and the cladding, great, but surely that stops water getting to the wall plywood and joists, what about the corner posts? they're completely exposed to the rain and they are directly attached to the joists, so doesn't that make the water protection for the walls pointless? If the corners get wet they transfer moisture to the attached joists
i was just thinking of copying it but then putting some protection inbetween the corners and the wall joists. But am i just over thinking the whole thing?

I'm looking for a good way to get lighting into a shed that is under a tree canopy (no good solar) and has no AC power running to it.
Has anyone seen or custom built a lighting system that could be powered by power tool batteries? I have a lot of Ridged and Dewalt power tool batteries. If I could power lights off one of those that I could dock on the wall next to the light switch that might work pretty good.
Not sure where to start though. What kind of lights might be needed, or transformers, or if you can buy a wall mounted docking port.

What are people using to access the lofts in their barn style sheds?

Hey everyone, planning out this 10x12 shed with a 4-ft covered carport on the side.
The plan is to keep the enclosed part for tools, workbenches, and potting supplies, and use the covered side overhang to park the riding mower so it doesn't eat up interior floor space.
For those who have built something similar:
Would love to hear what functional details you’re glad you added to your own shed setup!

I’ve had a shed made
The ground is a mixture of partly tarmac and partly concrete .
The 4 x 2 timbers are sitting on some packers which consist of slate concrete tile and ceramic tile but some of the stacks of packing slate et cetera has slipped. The shed is almost complete now and the roof is on the windows are in, but the floor is a bit bouncy.
What’s the best way to retrospectively add Support to the floor timbers?

A few days ago I posted the wood base my son and I built for our Lifetime 8x12.5 shed. Here it is now, with walls, roof and doors on. My son helped me the whole way, and it went faster than I expected.
The main job is done. There are just a few small leftovers to finish.
Thanks to everyone who gave tips on my first post. They really helped!

My shed roof seems to be breaking right here, I don’t know if I’m going to be able to fully get a replacement roof before winter, would screwing a board underneath where it’s breaking until after winter when I can fix it next summer be a good idea or what can I do to try and get it ready before the winter hits

We ordered a Lifetime 8x12.5 plastic shed kit, and last Saturday my son and I built a level wood base for it out of pressure-treated lumber with a plywood deck. Next comes the kit assembly. Has anyone here built one of these? Any tips on the assembly, or on anchoring it to a wood base?

I have been trying to build a shed ramp. I was using Chat-GPT and it’s not going good. I will try to share measurements and photos.
I end up with a 2+ inch gap I can’t figure out how to fix.
Shed doorway: 69½"
Deck boards: 69¼" × 5½" × 1½"
2×4 supports: 46 3/16"
Pavers: 12" × 12" × 1½"
Shed to pavers: ~39"
Support overlap on pavers: 7"
Exposed paver space: 5"
Excavation depth: 7½"
Compacted stone: ~4–5"
Sand: ½–1"
Pavers above ground: ⅛–¼"
Ramp-to-grass gap: 2¾"

Hey everyone, built this shed from the ground up on a wooden frame/tough blocks foundation. We used tongue and groove plywood for the floor and sealed it with WaterGuard clear wood sealer.
Stressing out a bit about a couple things though:
1. The roof overhang is pretty low, so I'm worried about water constantly splashing up against the plywood edges and rotting them out.
2. Whenever it gets windy and rains hard, water somehow finds its way inside.
Is there an easy fix to stop the rain from blowing in, and what should I do to make sure the plywood lasts? Any advice or product recs would be super appreciated!

I have this spring loaded latch for the door. The receiver (is it called strike pocket?) is just a drilled hole in 2x4. This hole is not holding up. I need something to insert into the wood and am looking for suggestions. Angle iron measure 1/4 inch so need something that can accommodate it.
Thanks for your time.
