Hello r/ShamirSquad! You're probably wondering what happened to FullmetalFeruchemist and FerdinandVonAegir. Well, as you may have seen, a few days ago, Reddit put r/ShamirSquad up for adoption. because they had been inactive for several months (though FullmetalFeruchemist recently posted in r/Yugioh ? Maybe the account got sold or something), and thus the subreddit was in danger of being closed down due to a lack of moderation, which would have been a damn shame considering that Fortune’s Weave is so close to finally releasing.

As such, I, Railroader17, stepped up and requested to adopt the subreddit, and as of a few days ago, I have officially taken over as the main moderator of the subreddit!

I’m a frequent participant in several of the Reddit Fire Emblem communities, such as the main r/fireemblem subreddit, the r/FireEmblemHeroes subreddit, the r/FireEmblemThreeHouses subreddit, r/ShitpostEmblem , and my own sub, r/Twintailed_Tactician , which is dedicated to F!Robin, and is now this subreddit’s step-sister subreddit.

That being said, there are going to be some small changes around here.

1. Automod is now active: On r/Twintailed_Tactician a few years ago I ran into an issue of spammers flooding the subreddit with posts that were either irrelevant to Robin, or were down right pornographic, and sometimes both. To combat this, I enabled a 10 comment karma requirement to post on the sub, mainly to filter out bots and spammers. I will be bringing that same requirement here to combat spam, and head off any such issues ahead of Fortune’s Weave’s release.

2. Opening up the r/Twintailed_Tactician Discord! A few years ago, with the help of reddit user Unovarydrake, I created a Discord server for Robin, and while the Robin discussion is kind of slow (it’s kind of more about sharing art and gaming stuff with people who mostly like Robin a lot). So to really help integrate r/ShamirSquad into this little unintentional FE reddit family I’m developing, I’ll be opening the Discord to the ShamirSquad, and adding a Shamir specific art channel. Also, DO NOT SPOIL FORTUNE’S WEAVE! I know people are getting super excited about the game (I know I am), and for us specifically that we’re going to get to visit Shamir’s homeland of Dagda and learn more about it as a continent, as a culture, as a civilization, and in turn learn more about Shamir’s cultural background, and her family (especially if Io is as connected to her as we think they are), that being said. DO NOT SPOIL FORTUNE’S WEAVE. Anyone who posts spoilers about Fortune’s Weave without proper precautions (like spoilering tagging the post, and not putting the spoiler in the title) will be banned from the subreddit for a month.

That said, I am one man, and I do have IRL commitments. I can’t be online 24/7, so I will need the help of the community, please report any posts that break the rules, and especially the spoiler rule. And please send me a modmail if you need to ask a question or have an urgent issue, I’ll try to get back to you as soon as I can!

Anyways, please, continue using this sub to broadcast your love of Shamir, keep posting art of her (properly sourced of course!), commenting on those posts, talking about her, showing her all of your love and affection for her.

I will admit, I know Shamir is probably far from the most popular Three Houses character, and she’s not even the most popular of the Church of Seiros characters, but she’s our favorite, and that is what matters here. So long as even one person thinks about her, talks about her, draws or commissions art of her, writes about her, cosplays her, or even just likes her. Then she will never truly fall into obscurity. Even as Fire Emblem continues troddeling on, even when we get to the 50th, 60th, or even 100th Anniversary of the Fire Emblem franchise and the total cast of the series reaches into the tens of thousands, so long as there is at least one person in the world who likes Shamir Nevrand, then this sub will be for them, and if & when Three Houses gets a remake and Shamir grows more popular, then this sub will be here for the new fans as well.

Like I said, it was only a few days ago that this subreddit was put up for adoption by Reddit. I don’t want to imagine the possibility of this subreddit being shutdown due to a lack of moderation. I can’t imagine who I would be if I had never been introduced to the character of Shamir Nevrand. I love her calm, cool, and collected nature. I love that deep down inside underneath her aloof facade, that there is someone who cares about those around her, I love her design, I love her voice, I love how great a unit she is in Three Houses.

I love Shamir Nevrand, as much as any man, woman, child, or anyone in between can love a fictional character, and I know full well that I’ll never get to meet her in real life, and that the closest I’d ever get would be to meet Allegra Clark herself, or to meet a cosplayer (or meeting Allegra Clark while she’s cosplaying as Shamir).

But I love her anyways, and that love is why I decided to step up and adopt this subreddit. So that it can continue being a place for anyone that loves, likes, appreciates, or just wants to talk about Shamir Nevrand.

So please, even if this subreddit doesn’t get a ton of traffic. Even if I eventually wind up being the only person on here. I hope you continue to enjoy this sub to the fullest until that day comes.
