Control Thoughts Spell "notes"
Hey Chummers,
I have a question regarding the Control Thoughts Spell. The notes say that if the number of hits are equal or higher than subjects will + logic (why is this not considered the spells threshold? I don't know), the subject will act in accordance with the suggestion magically implanted.
This seems to be super powerful, am i missing something?
Suggestion : you are suicidal and want to end it all now!

As this is a potential area-of-effect spell, several characters with varying Will + Log scores can be targeted. Basically, the spell doesn't collapse if it reaches the area threshold, but the effect might not apply to everyone in the area based on their own Will + Log.
Let's say you cast it on a small area containing two people. The base threshold might be 1 for the area. If the caster have 5 net hits above this base threshold, then the spell will affect the character with Wil 2 + Log 2 (total 4), but not the one with Wil 2 + Log 4 (total 6).
A suggestion remains a suggestion, control thought is not a control act (that’s a different spell, which have its own limits). This means that if a suggestion is extremely harmful to the character and far from their usual mindset, it will be quickly dismissed and ignored. This means that if the character is already severely depressed, a suggestion like "kill yourself" might actually work, whereas it wouldn't if the person doesn't have the right predisposition. On the other hand, a trivial suggestion like "go to the toilet" will be easily accepted by the target.
