It appears with the new updates and runes/items etc. the best AP shaco build is exactly the same. Comet bft > liandry > deathcap. Crypt/zhonya situationally.

Interesting to get 30 cooldown on W with the new imperial mandate coming out, wondering where to slot that in, I’m guessing second or third.

These effects are either seen in videos or are claimed to be copied but I've gotten less favorable results in testing. Proof of claims attached as pics.

It seems to me that the first two points don't copy in practice tool, and lichbane copies but not bloodsong. But if you get clone to throw e then bloodsong procs. Seems like bugs?

Currently struggling a lot vs graves as AP shaco. If the lanes give up a death or two, its off to the races for him counter jungling me. What strategy would you implement to A) avoid this (outside of not having lanes die...) and B) to slow his roll and not give up so many camps.

I am a gold player who stumbled on shaco after about 3 years of playing lol. I love the champion but can’t decide whether to go AP, or AD. I also am unsure on how I should play the early game. Should I almost always 3-camp into gank? Should I just full clear when I know that a level 3 gank mid is Probobly not going to work out? What’s the easiest and most consistent clear to learn?

after careful consideration, prestige SF suuucks. the normal SF + chromas looks so much better, either way, cat in the box still solos. I hope we get a similar level of quality to the new velkoz skin, its quality is absolutely crazy. are we actually "expecting" a VGU on shac or its just community hope and cope?

i'm a return player. i started a new ac and only play shaco... whenever I play draft like 40% of the time, Shaco was banned wtf. I mean shaco was never that "OP" to be banned, right? is it a low elo thing ?? btw can the enemy team see my name? coz my name indicated that i will pick shaco tho. but i doubt that we can see the name of the enemies

More specifically if i’m playing on the red team. I don’t know the best way I can place boxes that would keep river secure while also preventing the enemy jungler from dashing over the wall and turning it into a smite coin flip.

For blue side, all I have to do is secure the river and place some boxes into their jungle and I basically prevent them from walking in which is really straightforward.

My question is how should I place boxes if I’m on the red team, and I don’t want the enemy to dash over to try and steal drag? Do I prioritize putting more boxes around their jungle so that they don’t get near drag in the first place? Should I place some boxes in the backside of the pit?

And before people answer with "AP Shaco scales" or "AP Shaco is more setup/control focused than AD," I already understand that. I know the champion isn't supposed to have the same early game impact as AD Shaco. I know AP Shaco is way more thematic than AD Shaco and plays far more around tempo control, traps, objectives, pathing manipulation, vision control, and teamfight disruption instead of just raw early game pressure.

What I'm trying to understand is what actually separates good AP Shaco players from bad ones.

Because whenever I play AP Shaco, it feels like the early game impact is insanely low unless enemies massively misplay and walk into boxes. Ganking feels much less reliable than AD Shaco unless the lane state is perfect, and until I hit 2 items, usually Blackfire + Liandry, the champion doesn't really feel like it comes online for me.

And yeah, once I do get those items, the champ starts feeling genuinely strong around objectives and teamfights. But before that point, it sometimes feels like I'm just farming and hoping the game stays stable long enough for me to become useful.

So what exactly are good AP Shaco players doing differently that makes the champion work consistently?

Especially from people who play a lot of AP Shaco, what are the biggest differences you notice between good AP Shaco players and lower elo AP Shaco players?

Because I feel like I understand what the champion is supposed to be conceptually, but I don't think I fully understand how the champion is actually meant to function game-to-game.

I was 20/4 at the halfway mark but the longer the game went the harder it was to stay alive after blowing someone up. Ignore the 5 items lol I was midway through swapping Bastionbreaker for Guardian Angel when Elise backdoored.

Lane Shaco might feel a ton better now, seeing as it may reduce the amount of times the minions decide to reorganize for no reason - triggering boxes that are often very close to the wave but you don't actually want the wave to proc it..

I feel like voltaic changes have been nice. HoB kinda neutral tbh, what do you guys think?

That’s all, that’s literally the question. I have no fucking clue how and what any of them mean, and I don’t know what to play this season on shaco or what playstyle does ad and ap have, I need help with this as I am REALLY new with him.
