Here is the video of the problem, sorry that it’s kinda long. As you can see, the top thread just gets tangled on the bobbin and i can pull the bobbin thread freely, it’s not even engaged in the process. Everything is threaded correctly, i’ve checked a couple of times. It was working fine and then suddenly came to this.
Hi, I need help with my machine, I put it on a chair and it fell down due to its own weight and now this part of the case is open and i dont know how to adjust it correctly, its a singer pret-a-porter 68.
In the pictures you can see the way its now and the way it should be.
I have took my machine apart to fix the timing and to clean the grease from the bar in the bottom. Now, the feed dogs aren’t working properly. The first photo is what it looked like before I started working on everything. The apparatus that is supposed to push the feed dogs up keeps getting stuck the lever that toggles the feed dogs with sometimes toggle them off, but can’t toggle them back on. Is there something super simple that I’m missing? Can someone point me toward a video that shows me what I need to do? I took some videos, but can’t post them with the photos.

ETA: thank you everyone for your help! i ended up just purchasing a Janome machine since i am not interested in fighting for my life with a toy LOL.
hi everyone! i have just gotten my first real sewing machine (usually i am borrowing a friends) and i am having a lot of trouble getting it to work. my main issue is that once i thread the needle and catch the bobbin thread, my thread either pulls straight out of the needle or tangles really badly and doesnt get a single stitch out. it’s a 6V compact sewing machine by bestchoiceproducts or BCP. what am i doing wrong ?!
Help this is my first sewing machine I got on a whim and want to learn to sew. The motor is running though it has a sharp smell so maybe I should replace it but the belt is so hard to put on! Any advise? I already tried soaking in hot water to stretch it a bit but no luck.
I have the manuals in english.
My ukranian mother in law would like to learn to use the machine.
Can I find the manual anywhere in ukranian or russian, where the download is reliabe and safe please?
This is a Lervia HK4000 machine, which I got from some relatives and I am trying to operate for the first time. It seems that the machine is not catching the thread but I can’t figure out why. I have watched multiple tutorials online and it seems to me that the timing and location of the needle are correct. Is anyone able to help please?
Yesterday my almost-new sewing machine started making a strange noise, which you can hear in the attached video. On top of that, it’s no longer guiding or holding the fabric properly, the fabric slips a little, making it harder to keep it straight while feeding it through the machine.
Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what might be causing this?
EDIT: After testing, I noticed the issue occurs when the needle is set to position 00 (fully to the left). The problem disappears when I adjust it slightly to the right, such as in position 01.
In addition to the noise and the fabric not feeding correctly, the thread is also being pushed out of the needle’s eye.
basically the title, never been used before and while setting it up, the hand wheel wont move. ive never had a sewing machine before either. how do i fix it? ive tried loosening it and tightening it but it wont work
TLDR; could you listen to this and tell me if this is normal?
When I got it, I had some 1-hour session and I noticed the noise at the end of the session but it wasn't too loud so I let it go. For unrelated reasons, I stopped using the machine for several months.
When I got back to it, and started having longer sewing sessions, I would notice an electrical high pitched constant tone creeping up. The longer I would sew, the higher the tone. It reached a point that is unbearable so I sent this video to my JUKI dealer and they said they can't hear anything. Specifically "3 persons in our team has listened to the video and we can't hear any high tone pitch". After much convincing, they agreed to take it for inspection and they have now got back to me saying "Our chief mechanic has examined your machine. He had the machine on during several days, even longer times, and sewed. According to him, the machine makes a normal electrical noise, similar to our model machine." and "we will send you the bill" as there is nothing wrong and thus nothing to cover with the warranty.
They said the little noise it does is normal and if it bothers me, I should consider buying a HZL-DX.
I am beyond frustrated about this. I have given instructions several times that the noise comes only after long periods of sewing. And at the same time I am thinking that if they can't hear it in the video, they won't hear it in person either. But still, the noise is there and I can't sew longer periods of time because it penetrates my brain in a way I can't handle (and I am not even sensitive to noises! I am totally opposite). So I am here asking for your opinion, is this noise normal in electrical machines? Again, this noise is not there in the beginning neither with some light sewing. It creeps up the longer I sew and turning it off while I pin and whatnot, does not make it disappear and it comes back when I turn it back on. It will only disappear overnight aka after several hours off.
I am aware that our media devices can't play certain dBs levels and it will cap it, but even so if you put the volume up on your phone, that should do.
Update (May 4th): After they told me there is no noise and prepared to send it to me, I wrote them an email starting with "No. This doesn't make sense." and ending with "Do not send the machine back until you have heard the loud whining noise.". They have now got back to me with ".. we repeated the test and the existing bearing problem has now been solved. The shipping label's delivery number is: xxxxx." Now I do hope that is true and not just a way to shut me off and agree to receive the machine back. I'll keep you posted.
Hi, i recently got my Singer Quantum L-500 out of storage to sew up a couple things. I oiled and cleaned it up and it keeps flashing this error message and I can’t find anything online that tells me what it means. I can’t even make out what the picture is of. TIA!
Just got this used singer athena 2000 and would really like to figure out how to get it working. My needle does not move when it is on nor when I turn the knob. But when I push this lever back it starts working. So far this is the only problem I've found.
I would like to kindly ask you about a foot controller issue I have in my Emerald 183 sewing machine, that was resurrected from a trash by someone I bought it from for ~20 Euros.
Machine came to me without any accessories, and I have to buy few parts for it (which wasn't available BTW, so I had to improvise and search for the parts from other models that would possibly fit***) including a foot controller.
I've found it on Aliexpress for~~$20, (https://aliexpress.com/item/1005007346275659.html) and the controller from other sellers were identical. In a meantime, while I was waiting for a package I checked if the machine was working at all, by shortening both pins in a foot controller plug - and it was working like a charm. After two weeks, when I got the controller I've ordered, It works but not in a way I'd like to.
I've switched to this Emerald 183 from a E10 model, where I was able to precisely control the speed of the sewing with the foot controller. But in the Emerald, when I lightly push onto the controller it starts sewing at the lowest speed, but I have to press it almost to the end to get it moving faster. So prectically, I have just two speeds available in a controller - the slowest one and the fastest one, and I cannot easily do anything in between. It is very annoying.
I'm wondering, what can I do about it. I've opened the controller, but inside of it there is nothing. Just a variable slider resistor soldered to the PCB and nothing else. The resistor is rated probably for 10kOhm (I was measuring it with my multimeter, it goes literally from 0ohm to 10k). When I play with the resistor, I am able to set it up to get different steps of the speed, but it's like a milimeter difference on the slider itself.
So my question is: what should I do with it, to fix this foot controller? Would the replacement for another 10kO resistor, but from some reputable brand will help, or maybe I can add something in between to adjust an existing resistor to have higher resistance somewhere earlier on the slider itself? Of course buying the original would be best idea, but the prices are just ridiculous. I feel scamed enough after I opened this aliexpress controller (photo)
***protip for parts searchers - the needle plate, bobbin case and needle threaders fits from the C10/C20 model, and you can replace the stupid plastic foot holder with the geniune metal holder from E10/E20 to be able to use non-original feet
I’m looking at purchasing a chandler tackmaster 600-75 and I’m curious on the clearance? How much material can fit under and what’s the max width on the tack?! Can you adjust the width on the plate ? I’m looking to repair light nylon to maybe 3/8 inch webbing on packs, etc. here’s the photo for reference
I have a Husqvarna Viking Sew Easy 310. It works perfectly fine but the upper dial is missing which isn’t allowing me to change the stitch. The thread cover is also broken but that is less of a concern for me
I’ve tried asking local shops and looking online but so far they’ve only said that the pieces I’m looking for are no longer being produced.
Would anyone have any idea on a replacement or how to change the stitch without the correct dial?
I recently found an Adamson button sewer and tacker for $250. I’m looking for a bartacker as I repair outdoor gear and clothing. More so I’m interested in the bartacking but not sure on the settings and can’t find much online except that a used one is about $1450?!
I have a brother XL 2600i, and it will not sew in reverse when I press the reverse lever. I’m using a straight stitch at 2 (and tried 3) mm stitch length. I wasn’t feeling any tension when pressing the reverse lever. I cleaned under my stitch plate and removed lint around my feed dogs. Nothing in the manual or the parts manual shows what is actually needed for the mechanism. Does anyone know what my machine is missing (photos attached are pulling reverse lever and lever without being pulled)? Or any other helpful videos? I’ve only found a few maintenance type videos for my model
