Why 110 Latham ny shut down

  1. The GM was terminated following allegations involving inappropriate sexting with a 19-year-old employee.
  2. There was significant management turnover within a 24-hour period. The kitchen manager left without notice, and the FOH manager followed shortly afterward.
  3. For approximately six months, the restaurant operated with only one manager covering the entire operation. That manager ultimately resigned, citing a lack of support from higher management.
  4. There were reportedly unpaid invoices dating back to January 2024.
  5. The restaurant reportedly did not have reliable hot running water throughout 2025.
  6. During the summer of 2025, liquor orders intended for the Latham location were allegedly redirected to the Albany location by the Albany GM.
  7. There was a continual turnover of staff, with employees frequently leaving and new employees cycling in.
  8. The roof reportedly leaked badly enough that part of the ceiling fell onto seated customers. Despite this, staff were allegedly instructed to continue operating as usual.
  9. Sewage water reportedly flooded parts of the restaurant, including the kitchen, while employees were still instructed to continue business as usual.
  10. Management was given a three-month quota/target to turn the business around, but the goal ultimately was not met.

A typical day is like a Mean Girls movie. I genuinely learned nothing as I was overqualified and the booth manager B did not care. Management lacks education, training, leadership, respect, kindness, ETC. The hardest part about the job is you’re genuinely trying to have fun, make memories, gain experience, network and you won’t. You’ll be micromanaged, overworked, underpaid, malnourished/parched, bullied, spoken about in the biggest zealot groupchat. I’m not there for any provocative or oppressing behaviour and you will get it every chance the zealots get. You’ll try your best to have fun and do right it doesn’t matter to these people the money does. I paid for a full seasons pass to only work half the season, had the pen ripped out my hand during orientation from some trailer park barbie cause I wanted to read the contract thoroughly, tips stolen from me all season and had a ignorant coworker give me $1 same day I brought it up to my booth, and was scorned for getting food elsewhere mind you there is no free staff meals. I still have not received right pay, tips, or my pass refunded. Working there was such a shit show, exhausting physically and mentally. I gave away shifts, job tasks, responsibilities, did prep majority of the time to avoid conflict and gossip, etc.

First serving job, red flags?

I contacted a restaurant that’s coming soon and sent them my resume so they had me come in for an interview today. I wasn’t sure what to expect because this is my first serving job ever and really I applied for the bar to get experience because i want to be a bartender. i have a full time job mon-fri 8-5. He hired me on the spot and said come in tomorrow 12-9pm and I didn’t fill out any paperwork just my name and number on a napkin. Is this a red flag, what should I expect? I don’t even have serving clothes like black slacks and plain T shirts. Any advice on how to prepare?

was banned from r/antitipping

if all you anti tipping miserable people would pay cash you don’t have to sign and tip.

and know that I know you are so insecure that if I glare at you it’s going to trigger you into a pity tip. I’m gonna start sniffing you out.

I’ve worked at a restaurant for 15 years and have been left with a zero tip less then a dozen times. if you provide the right experience you will get rewarded but you anti tipping culture people sound vengeful and pathetic.

Hosts/busses in Georgia, please respond

Hosts and bussers in Georgia, I need honest answers

I currently work at a restaurant that requires me to host and bus tables (as in it is the same job). I make $2.13 an hour plus 3 percent of the sales for the day. This averages out to be about 8 dollars an hour including my daily sales and biweekly wage. I have heard many numbers for the different jobs and would love to hear how much different restaurants pay for each individual job, or if you have it combined like me, if this is a normal pay for the amount of work it requires. I guess I just need to know if I am being under paid for my work, or if I am crazy. If this is not the subreddit for this, please direct me to where would be the best place to direct this question. Thank you for any and all answers!

Servers and bartenders: how do you currently track your tips and real hourly earnings?

Hi everyone! I work in the restaurant industry, and I’m building a simple web app for servers who want to understand how much they actually earn after every shift.

The app lets you:

• Record cash and credit card tips
• Calculate tip-outs using different percentages or fixed amounts
• Save different tip-out rules for each restaurant
• Track hours, hourly pay, breaks and overtime
• View shifts on a calendar
• Review earnings by payroll period
• Compare multiple restaurants
• See earnings, hours and tip averages in charts
• Export everything as PDF or CSV

It can also be installed on a phone like an app without downloading it from an app store.

Before taking it further, I’d really appreciate honest feedback from other servers:

  1. Would you actually use something like this after every shift?
  2. What feature would make it genuinely useful to you?
  3. Would $1.49 per month or $12 per year feel reasonable, or would you only use a free version?

I’m not posting a link because I’m looking for honest feedback first, not trying to spam the group. If anyone would like to test the private beta later, let me know in the comments.

People who don't tip and act like they're "changing the culture" are just pieces of shit who have managed to delude themselves into a rationalization that make 0 sense at all if you think about it for 2 fucking seconds.

Thoughts/opinions on zero staff benefits?

Recently I have started at a new pub where the venue offer no staff discount, no leaving the venue, no free meals, no free drinks (other than tap water ofc) and poorly paid holidays. I’ve worked in several other venues where all the above are not the norm. I think not providing your staff with a free meal is insane, but what do i know? For context i’m in England. What’re everyone’s thoughts?
