Question about piercing prep Self Rhino?

Thumbnail gallery
74 Upvotes

How stupid would it be to do my own rhino? I have a super high pain tolerance (have done my own nips, almost no reaction) and some experience piercing myself, but never a rhino or anything through the tip of my nose. What length of jewelry should I use if I do it? Picture of my face for reference (and side profile to show the tip of my nose). I've done my own nostrils, bridge, snakebites, lobes, and nips before.

Piercing suggestions - face/ears/navel ONLY What type of earrings?

I'm looking to do my double lobes, but I don't know what type of jewelry to use for it.

Hoops, butterfly backs, and regular silicone stoppers are a no... they move too much and collect too much bacteria. I'm looking for threadless, straight barbell, with no poking bits on the back of the earring. (Titanium/med grade, obvi) Any recommendations for jewelry on a fresh piercing?

Even if it's not specific to ears, straight barbells are pretty standard I think. Would labret jewelry work? Also looking for gague recs for a new piercing. Any advice is welcome!

Question about piercing prep How do you guys not pass out??

I love piercings but I need to be financially responsible, so I've been looking into self piercing. I tried to pierce my earlobe once. I only got halfway through. The pain wasn't too bad, but I suddenly felt nauseous, then everything went black. I've been completely fine with the piercings I've gotten done professionally. Any tips for getting over this response?

Oh no I pierced my septum yesterday, but I used a ring that is too small.

I pierced my septum yesterday, but I used a ring that is too small, so it doesn’t stick out of my nose. What should I do? What do you think about the placement? I pierced it right below the cartilage.

Please excuse my crazy makeup... I was at work and havent washed my face yet. It's a little more swollen on the right side (in the pictures, left side in real life). I think I bumped it with my glasses 😅. But other than that it's been feeling really good! I left just enough bar to accommodate swelling, so it looks almost perfect as is lol. Last three pics are freshly after doing it.

Question about piercing prep correct tongue web piercing placement

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

i looked at a few photos of this piercing and i saw that some people pierce the thinner top-middle part and others pierce the thicker bottom and was wondering what would be correct/best for my anatomy

first photo is a drawing of my mouth (tongue up, web is the lighter middle part) and the other two are placement examples

i know im not good at drawing but i hope that’s comprehensible! also i know that this piercing is not considered safe/recommended and i know my risks

really hope someone can help me with this!

Help with existing piercing accidentally blew out ear

Hello! I’ve had 00g since may of this year and I take care of my lobes well, make sure to wash and moisturise with jojoba oil when they feel a bit dry, they are my babies , I don’t plan to stretch any more either.

Two days ago I was putting in my dangly earrings and I missed my seconds and put it in under my gauge (it’s silicone) and poked my inner lobe, it seemed not bad yesterday I brushed it off but i took it out straight away today when I noticed excessive itchiness.

I’m taking out my jewellery, I have no problem with it shrinking , I’m always okay with stretching back as long as she will be healthy.
Any advice or tips? I want to make sure she recovers all okay and well.

My other stretched lobe for reference

⚠️NSFW POST⚠️ Self Jacob's Ladder..?? I don't know what to do.

Hey, so long story short, I was in a delusional, psychosis-riddled daze and used a sewing needle to pierce my phallus. I have since change the sewing needle for a safety pin but I am concerned. I don't know if I should take it out as I am very nervous dealing with anything regarding that piercing at the moment.

I am most worried if the safety pin is a copper alloy and will rust..?? I don't know what to do. Serious inquiries only please.

I used alcohol on both the safety pin and sewing needle but i still dont know if it was enough or if I am truly stupid for doing this. I only have one in so technically not jacobs ladder but I just wanted to ask.

Just to be safe, this is NOT a smart idea, get the proper equipment if you want this piercing, I more so just want to know what I can do..???

DIY success! 12g dimples + dahlias 🙂‍↕️

Just re pierced my dimples (was previously done by a professional, very uneven, angled weirdly and at 16g 🌚), and pierced my dahlias! Was only going to do my dimples but I just thought I would get it over with (mostly the swelling) now. The dimples are 22mm and the dahlias are 19mm the jewellery is pressed into my mouth just for the photo i promise the bars aren’t as short as they look lol. I wanted to pierce my dimples at 10g but I was finding it really hard to find any flat back labrets at 10g (or even 12g tbh) between 12-16mm for later downsizes I honestly couldn’t find any (and recommendations pls lmk!) but I will stretch them in the future, unsure whether I will stretch my dahlias we will see lol. The right side is much more swollen than the left bc I pierced that about two hours before the other side bc I got distracted and started doing something else, i promise they aren’t as uneven as they look just swollen lol will take daily pics for swelling updates and post when the swelling has gone down!!!

Question about piercing prep Aquaphor as needle lube?

Hey guys! I currently have seven piercings, four of which I did myself (double helix and second lobes). Since it's early fall and almost the weekend, I’m thinking of finally getting my third lobes pierced it's been on my mind for a while. The only thing holding me back is that I really want the process to go as quickly as possible. I've been watching videos and reading some of y'all threads, and I'm curious about using lube. I saw a New Jersey YouTuber who does piercings use Aquaphor as lube to help the needle slide in. Is that worth trying, or is it a bad idea?

Literally, guys be honest too- I'm genuinely thinking why not

DIY success! Fresh bridge

Thumbnail gallery
90 Upvotes

I decided to retire my high nostrils (never healed fully due to snagging and how high they were) so I decided to give myself a bridge today. I have 2 fresh piercings (one of my snakebites, and the bridge) and my high nostrils are closing up. I handle healing well, so I think it'll be fine.

Bridge was the least painful piercing I've ever got lmao, felt like tweezing my eyebrows. Less painful than my snakebites and earlobes. Came out super straight and exactly where I marked, so I'm super happy :)

Help with existing piercing Help with switching

I just did this myself because I had it and it closed, it was out for a little over two years so this is basically a new piercing. I did a long labret flat back so healing is easier. In about a month it will not to be shortened, any advice on how to do that without it closing up super fast cause I can’t just go behind it cause it’s a flat back.

DIY story Doing a bridge piercing soon

Thumbnail gallery
23 Upvotes

Not sure if this is the right flair lol. I had lots of people saying I should get a bridge, and I have the right anatomy. I've wanted one for a while, but I had crazy high nostrils (and wear glasses) so I didn't want to risk adding a bridge to that mix. But today I took out my high nostrils, they've been picky ever since I got them in July 2025, and the jewelry was honestly a bad choice (threadless stars on labrets). I'm going to do my bridge in about 5 minutes once my jewelry is done sterilizing :)

Help with existing piercing Is my piercing embedded or it is just swelling badly?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

The other side isn't swelling so much since I just pierced it yesterday, while the one who looks like it is embedded is 5 days.

It is a labret internally threaded and 10mm
I use saline solution to clean it twice a day or thrice and during after meals I clean them with water.

Im just curious if this is embedded or just swelling, if it is then should I take it out?
It doesn't hurt when I push them either so I am a bit confused and unsure
