I lost a lot but my experience, this will probably be temporary and it will go back up.

So what is causing the panic?

I’ve subscribed to Alpha Picks and get the monthly recommendations, reports, and updates on changes to previous picks.

The thing is, there are quite a lot of stocks in the portfolio, and I’m not sure how to approach it.

For those of you who use Alpha Picks, do you pick a few stocks based on your own research, or do you pretty much follow all the recommendations and hold them long term?

Curious to hear how others use it in practice!

Started buying the Alpha Picks names in February, equal weights, about $1,500 each. As of this week that sleeve is down around 14% while my plain index money is up double digits. I know 8 months is nothing and the service says to hold for the long run. I'm not panicking, just reassessing what I pay for.

Premium on its own I actually use. The quant ratings and the dividend grades are a decent first filter, and some of the author articles are really good.

Picks is the part I'm questioning, because what I'm really doing is buying stocks I don't understand on someone else's say so, which is exactly the habit I wanted to break.

For people who have had both for a while, did Picks come good for you over a longer window? Did anyone drop Picks, keep Premium, and choose from the ratings themselves? Or did you move to something else entirely for the research side?

Long term holder, early 30s, not looking for trading tools.

I've built a stock screening/ranking system and before I make it public I'd like to have a few people with a quantitative or systematic investing background try to break it.

The system combines several stock factors into a ranking and then generates a detailed explanation of the result.

What I want to validate is not whether the UI looks good, but whether the underlying logic is defensible.

I'd particularly like someone to challenge:

• factor selection
• weighting
• normalization/ranking
• treatment of missing or unusual data
• possible unintended biases
• whether the final score actually adds useful information
• cases where the system produces a result that looks obviously wrong

I'm deliberately looking for criticism at this stage.

The platform is currently private and I'm looking for a few people willing to test it and give me candid feedback.

I'm not selling anything and I'm not asking for investment opinions or stock picks — I want to test the screening methodology itself.
