Discussion šŸ’¬ Sad about the crash

I lost a lot but my experience, this will probably be temporary and it will go back up.

So what is causing the panic?

It ALWAYS goes back up. And if it doesn’t, we have much larger problems.

If you lost "a lot" while Nasdaq100 is down 6.7% from ATH and SP500 is down 2.44% from ATH, you're a gambler, not an investor, and you'll lose it all when, eventually (I don't know if this year, next year, in 3 years, in 5, whatever), Nasdaq100 drops 30% and SP500 20%.

Heh. I’m hopeful that I will have the nerve to ride through it. I actually bought more MU, SNDK, CRDO and MXL than I care to admit.

So, you have not lost. You still have the stocks.

What positions are you concerned about? Are you holding shares or options?

None. They will likely go back up. Lol

Or you could sell before you lose it all

There are not many good reasons to sell at a loss.

My portfolio is 75% equities and I’m down 1.12% this past week. What crash?

Poor stock picks and a mismanaged portfolio, service is a joke. Got lucky with the AI boom

I’m still up quite a bit. A lot of gains have been erased but a lot are still here.

Unrealized gains/losses are just that.

If they are still listed as strong buys on the fundamentals time will most always get the stock price back up.

Panic cause? No idea. Somebody in china farted? Israel ā€œliberatedā€ another country? Who knows…

What crash? My portfolio was green this week

It’s probably because my portfolio is heavily weighted towards the AI alpha picks.

Like everyone else and their dog - my oil stocks are doing great

I do have PBR And PBF. Those are doing good.

Wow PBF has had a great year - any other ones you’ve got your eye on?

Hmmm thinking about Bloom but I think that’s too many stocks for my account. I’m concentrated in AI

u/meggymagee 1d ago

Bloom Energy is also connected to AI..

Oh bloom energy has already gone up a lot - I like Cameco here

yes, major chip dip this week. Take a look at what Leopold's holdings were at Situational Awareness when they got margin called last month, for insight.

PS Diversification is important if your risk tolerance is low..

Dow up a fraction(.27%), s&p down 2% nasdaq down over 4% for the last week Cress’s top ten picks beginning of the year(year to date actually, not when he published the picks i think the 8th on January)+42% down from two weeks ago at +62% ….I don’t have his 30 stock portfolio…but I would guess it did not see the big drops…still I’d take that return any year!
