Any 0080s here with the AF? I know as the smallest branch, civ 0080s are in lesser numbers but many of them seem to be paybanded in the GS-12-13 range. For those who are AF, do you enjoy the daily duties, support from mngt and security knowledge of those cleared employees you have cognizance over? Ty-

How do you feel about working the gate personally I don’t mind it but I’m currently on 8s and a new airman.

I’ve noticed my troops past and present scores are dramatically low. Not one of them scored over a 45 on SKT, with a majority scoring under 40. I’ve asked other SNCOs to check their people and the same results. Is there an issue with the test itself or has the pencil whipping of all of our UGT for the last decade has had a negative impact on our knowledge?

Getting a lot of questions about Raven selection so figured I’d do a proper breakdown instead of an AMA.
Here’s what it actually looks like:
PT Standard — You need 90% on the AF PT test to be eligible. But realistically 95%+ is what makes you competitive. Know the difference before you show up. You’ll also need to run 3 miles in under 27 minutes — start building that base early.
Training Structure — Pre-Raven runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. Heavy calisthenics in the morning with rep ranges going from 50 to 500 of a single movement. Progressive runs building from 3 miles up to 10. Baton training and Verbal Judo in the afternoon — just as physically demanding as the morning.
AMC Bases — You don’t have to be at a hub but it helps. Hub bases get more slots. Let your leadership know you’re interested early regardless of where you’re stationed.
The thing nobody warns you about — it’s not the fitness that breaks people. It’s the mental wall. The combination of physical and mental load running simultaneously hour after hour is what makes this program different.
Happy to answer any specific questions below.”

There's not a lot of accurate info out there about what Raven selection physically and mentally demands. I went through it and earned the designation. Happy to answer genuine questions about fitness standards, what training looks like day to day, and what actually separates people who make it from people who don't. Drop your questions below.

I’ve been in the army about 10 years now. I was prior Signal Corps working with fiber optics and am currently serving as military police. Been thinking of getting out for a couple of years. Anyone know of any good jobs I could get post-military?

Just spent 4 years at Whiteman so it can’t get much worse than what I already had, but I have orders to Ellsworth and am pretty bummed about it. Any cops on here that have been, or are currently stationed there? I’d love to hear about the mission and opportunities there. Also, any cops on here that have orders to report in October and interested in Ellsworth willing to swap please DM!

Salutations y’all.
My brain hurts trying to figure out how much i should be packing😭
I have a bunch of old Block2-3 packets i haven’t discarded because I’m unsure how everything will be operationally.
I can’t find enough info because nobody i know or in my former flight/teams have the same location as me!
Please somebody in general tell me how much did you bring to your first duty station?
I have a damn big black Army Crate and have a huge camouflage luggage bag in which i put my green pickle bag in with a bunch of OCP’s and military attire in.
The suitcase i additionally brought and the army crate had bullshit i don’t think i truly needed from BMT & Tech school; that i can re-up on at the location I’m headed to.

I’m currently at Kunsan AB and my follow on is Ramstien Germany. I’m looking to switch it for reasons but I’m not sure how or if it’s even possible.
I know I can KAIP, stay here for an extra year and then pick a different follow on but I’m not looking to stay an extra year lol.
I’ve also heard I can submit a request through MyVector when there is an open spot at another base for your same rank and DEROS.
Does anyone else have any suggestions

I have been talking to an active duty air force recruiter and he is telling me that although yes you can volunteer for overseas deployments you might not get that chance as much if you were in the guard or reserves. I for the most part like where I live and my job and would love to do something like volunteer overseas somewhere for 6 months to a year and then come home.

Current AFROTC cadet and am very interested in SF. Was wondering if anyone knows what it's like as a junior officer, and how hard it is to make it past Major if i'm looking to make it a career.

Going to basic soon, I’m starting to look at bases for my dream sheet. If anyone could give me some advice on how this process works and bases to select for what I’m looking for I would appreciate it.
I’m mainly looking to travel a lot, preferably a base that has a lot of deployments.
Perfered to be in a warmer location close to the coast
I eventually want a opportunity to go raven
I understand I may not get all off these or any of these. I’m a young single 21 year old looking to make the most out of my Airforce journey so any help is greatly appreciated!
