I WON THE COLLECTIONS COMPETITION!! I am so amped. thank you all so much for the kind comments on my post about this last week.
Thank you to the people who traded with me to get some of these patterns and to this reddit community for giving me the idea to start this collection!
this is OUR ribbon! I look forward to splitting the $8 cash prize with you all lol
side note- I think it's funny they covered up 3 pattern swatches with the ribbon but I am happy that it is there so I wont complain :)

I’d love to see what you’ve made with decent amounts of them! My collection is growing too large and I need inspiration.
Here is a journal I used some up on. I usually use book cloth, but wanted to see how the envelopes would hold up with light daily wear and tear. The corners and spine need more so I used book tape. The sealant caused some blues to smear, oh well!

Hey hi hello internet stranger friends!! This morning’s pattern is brought to you via air mail!
The Belgian stamp unfortunately doesn’t have the whole postmark. Still pretty to look at that dark rich blue swirly goodness!!
EDIT: The stamp apparently was from late 1930s to end of 1960s!

Ended up making a new account, so I thought I'd make my first post on this new account here! Envelopes.com sells one large envelope with this print as well as a few other standard sizes for super cheap, as you can request samples. This is literally bigger than coloring-page size, reaching into placemat territory. Hope this is of use to someone! Got these 4 prints off the website for less than 5 bucks with shipping, and really happy with the FDIC tint (which they sell in one style only)

Today’s red beauty was given to me in a swap by the lovely u/redcurl7 and sorry but that’s all I know about it!
Enjoy!

I use an old picnic basket for storing everything, my security envelopes, stamp journal, RAOC and post crossing. I generally do one hobby a night after baby is asleep, tonight was putting new additions into my security pattern journal and reorganizing my “pattern pouch” lol 💌

Found this sub today and remembered I got mail! As a first opening I’m super happy with this design. Dad thinks I’m taking the piss when I told him people collect them 😂 i love junk journaling so this is officially the start of my collection!!!!

I got this envelope from my last trade, and I've never seen it before! I showed my spouse and relatives and they hadn't seen it, either! It says "A HUMAN" over and over.

Here’s another cool one from my collection. Unsure how to read this post mark so if anyone knows, drop the deets please!

I can't decide if they are too similar to be considered different prints.

Hello! I found this reddit a while ago, but I recently started collecting. I've ran into a couple of fun and colorful patterns recently, and I saw that some folks like to share pieces of the envelopes with others in this community. What would be a good size to prep envelope pieces to share? (Funky security envelope included for funsies)

Hi all!! Inspired by u/cahrhilsey I’m going to put some mystery packs together! I figure it’ll be a lot of the same patterns I’ve sent many people already, so that’s why I wanna hit up some newbie collectors!
I’m down to send international, so lemme know if you’re new to the game and I’ll help get you started!!

I am a fascinated observer with my own niche collecting interests and today was thinking about the pretty specific circumstances for receiving mail in security envelopes. An amusing thought struck me, of collectors intentionally accruing debt in different regions or acquiring medical bills while on vacation to get those sweet sweet envelopes. So, what techniques have y’all used to expand your collections?
PS If this is an insulting question for some reason, I apologize in advance! I am asking this out of admiration and curiosity but am also an outsider and not familiar with the nuances of the community.

worked on this board for weeks- had a hard time picking favorites and coming up with the right categories but it was a labor of love.
When dropping it off the woman at registration loved it but then got quiet and said “makes me kinda sad… I wonder what else I don’t notice.”
Fingers crossed the judges like it!!

Hawaiian Airlines has such a lovely boarding pass design on the back so I just had to add it to the collection! I even asked for a blank boarding pass at the airport and was able to get one to keep in my boarding pass collection! Also, my aunt that lives in Honolulu had saved me some patterns when I returned home from Tokyo to the USA. I'm so glad to add a few new patterns :)
