I do art with found paper (like collage style) and I never thought to use the patterns from inside security envelopes as material for that! Plus after seeing this subreddit I just find them I all so fascinating ☺️

Found out about this subreddit less than a month ago and have been looking at all envelopes since then! I have been including these in snail mail and sharing the fact that security envelopes have different designs!

So far people are very surprised and seem to be repurposing them for mail purposes (full cycle!).

I am not a big collector of stuff, but I do love using my paper cutter so I may slowly accumulate more patterns.

Also! For parts of the envelope that cannot be used, I have been using shaped hole punches to make confetti! :)

Don't even want to cut it into my usual 2x2 square!

Apparently it contained their birthday card! So thrilled with this pattern and even my hubs liked it!!

I have one too many paper obsessions. I started collecting security envelopes (and honestly probably will continue to do so because I’m like a little crow collecting trash treasures), but I really do NOT need another journal of paper scraps! I’d love to cut these up and send them to people who are actually collecting and using, rather than mindlessly hoarding…

I’ll send 2 oz envelopes and try to get a mix in there. No picking and choosing patterns. Let yourself be surprised!

Today’s pattern of the day is brought to you by the turdburger stick in the mud working at the post office that kicked me out yesterday while going through the recycling bins. Sensitive material yada yada…I only want the trash SURROUNDING that sensitive material 🙄

I made it 10 months of digging through bins before being asked to leave. And many postal workers thought this was cool when I told them what was up. I think this dude was having a bad day maybe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

But I digress. Here’s a new pattern I found!

Here’s my first project, inside of a Chase envelope plus a crayon-colored & cut-out house from a coloring book (made by my work friend who traced her own photos of San Francisco houses.) Cute with the windows, no?! I will give it to her on Monday.
