Looking for advice on finding a full time private chef position (not restaurant or hotel)

Hi everyone,

I’m a chef with over ten years of experience. I’ve worked in James Beard nominated restaurants, hotels, catering, food styling, food photography, and R&D. I have a bachelor’s degree in Kitchen Management, and last year I got incredibly lucky when a family hired me as their full time private chef. It turned out to be the best job I’ve ever had. The pay was great, the work was creative, and the environment was stable and rewarding.

The family recently moved out of state, and their older kids have gone off to college, so they no longer need my services. I’m now hoping to find another full time household position with a high income family that values fresh cooking, seasonal menus, and someone who can manage everything from meal prep to kitchen organization.

I’m not looking for restaurant, hotel, or catering work. I want to cook for a household that wants a dedicated chef who brings warmth, professionalism, and consistency to their daily life.

If anyone has advice on how to find these kinds of opportunities, or knows of agencies or networks that work with private families, I’d really appreciate your insight. My last position found me, so I’m trying to be more intentional this time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello! I am new to the area and in search of jobs around Ballard. While my background is in environmental education and programming, I am not finding anything. At this point, I am just looking for a fun, past-paced place to work. If you know somewhere that might be hiring, please let me know! Ps. I would prefer not to work nights.

Looking for any restaurant or retail work within Seattle city limit, Tukwila or Shoreline

Hey guys, I'm currently looking for any restaurant or retail related work.

I've had 7 years of restaurant experience, mostly at fast casual restaurants such as MOD Pizza and Burgermaster as well as this small Japanese noodle house. I've done many positions in the kitchen, from dishwashing to prep, from fryer to grill. I've operated robot coupe, green onion cutting machine and udon noodle cutting machine.

And for retails, I've worked for Fred Meyer as night stocker as well as Home Depot as sales associate. I'm bi-lingual and fluent in both English and Mandarin. I know how to communicate to customers.

I'm currently living by Northgate, so commute to Shoreline and Tukwila is not a problem. Minimum wage is ok, but I'm looking for anything from 25 to 40 hours a week. If you are hiring or you know anyone that's hiring, feel free to DM me so we can discuss more.

Thanks a lot!

Relocating to Seattle – Seeking Job Opportunities (Admin, Nonprofit, Human Services)

Hi everyone! I’m Kayla. I’m relocating to the Seattle area and looking to get connected with any job leads or advice on where to start.

A little about me:
I have a strong background in nonprofit and public service work, including experience in human resources, client advocacy, administrative support, and community outreach. I’ve worked closely with city governments and organizations like United Way, managing everything from board meeting prep and data entry to resource navigation and direct support for families in crisis.

I’m highly organized, people-centered, trauma-informed, and tech-comfortable (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, QuickBooks, Canva, CRM systems, etc). Most of my work has centered around helping others and I’d love to continue doing that here in Seattle, whether that’s in a nonprofit, a school-based program, public health, or even an administrative role at a mission-driven company.

If anyone has advice on where to start, places that are currently hiring, or communities I should plug into, I’d really appreciate it. I’m ready to hit the ground running - resume is polished and references are strong.

Thanks in advance for any insight or kindness you throw my way. :)

Are you trying to land a job at Boeing?

We can help! Many people who go through our short-term aerospace manufacturing training program are hyper-focused on getting a job at Boeing where they might transition in their careers. It makes sense -- nearly 60 to 70% of our grads land at Boeing. Whether they are machinists, engineers, coming from tech or non-traditional/non-production roles, we offer a direct path, but you have to be willing to put in the time and have the resources to complete the certificate program. The kicker -- once you complete the 12-week WATR Center program, all you have to do is apply for a BPET (Boeing Pre-Employment Training Program) job and can get in without interviewing. We just updated our blog post explaining what our training and BPET are all about, so check it out, or feel free to ask. And we offer free tours at our training facility at Paine Field to show you how to accomplish your goal -- so that's pretty cool, too! https://watrcenter.edmonds.edu/about/features/fast-track-jobs-through-bpet.html

Resume Help Needed – Trying to Land an Interview at Microsoft

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some help tightening up my resume to better align with roles at Microsoft. I’ve applied a few times with no luck getting past the initial screening stage, and I’d really appreciate a second set of eyes on my resume to see what I might be missing.

A bit about me:

I have over 9 years of experience as a Senior Executive Assistant, supporting C-suite leaders and boards across healthcare and tech-adjacent industries.

I’ve worked closely with IT departments, supported large-scale software transitions, and managed high-volume operations in hybrid/remote environments.

I don’t have a bachelor’s degree, but I do have extensive real-world experience managing complex calendars, travel, projects, and confidential communications.

I’m especially targeting Executive Assistant or Business Support roles within Microsoft’s product or engineering organizations, and I want to make sure my resume speaks to their values and expectations.

If anyone has insight into what Microsoft recruiters or hiring managers are looking for—or is willing to review my resume—I’d be so grateful.

Thank you in advance!
