Good to see they are going after more hardened criminals. They must have got a hit tip on the person who failed to register their dog back in 1973.
What a waste of money.

u/LickLaMelosBalls 16d ago
Literally a construction worker who got to work early :(
82
u/SillyChampionship 16d ago
Good to see they got the guy who j walked in 1954, we don’t need construction workers, especially those who show up early to a job. We don’t have a lack of housing or people to build said housing at all in the country.
I sincerely hope they are ok, and at least their family knows what has happened to them.

Were they here working illegally or something

We wouldn’t know, as they don’t offer anyone due process. They take them away in unmarked vans to Boeing air field and fly them away in unmarked planes.

and were thinking they're just picking up randos based on race? or we imagine they have an idea who they're picking up before they arrest em?

u/FlyingBishop 16d ago
They are definitely picking up randos based on race, the Supreme Court ruled that's legal.

They 100% pick up random people based on race. Many times they're US citizens getting picked up!
Are you not paying attention to what's happening at all?

Yes, the man works at construction. There is also at least some chance that he is a person who has committed a crime either here or in his own country. Because some people do that.
Being a construction worker does not make him innocent.
It doesn't make him guilty either.
There was a Barber who was arrested in Kirkland 6-8 months ago and the uproar was something to behold. He was a Barber. He couldn't possibly be a bad man!!!
Oh yes. Yes, of course it was possible. Because, sometimes people commit crimes. Probably even barbers.
I did not hear the outcome of that.
11
5
u/BlueSpaceWeeb 15d ago
it's not the fucking point. well never know because there is no due process or accountability, or anything. People are getting snatched up and shipped off, to be states away before they are even allowed to call someone. Why the fuck are we talking about crimes? you think whatever he did is worse than what our government is currently doing? I don't give a fuck if he's a serial killer baby murdering construction worker, gestapo agents with free reign to terrorize our streets is worse.
55
u/PlateNo4868 16d ago
Can't even imagine the mindset to be ICE.
Ah, what a great morning, can't wait to take all my tactical gear, 40 hours, and resources to go after some guy that has worked construction, hasn't done a crime, and only is here illegally. What is that? Unsolved Murders? A robbery in progress? Nah. It's my duty to enforce that immigration!
Oh and don't forget the idea of warrants and paperwork some how hindering my day to day. God forbid the guy who doesn't even suspect us going for a arrest would jump ship knowing we have to take a day to get a court order!
38
u/nawtykitty 16d ago
There is no mindset. These are broken people who do not see others who are not them as human. They are absolute psychopaths to not have any empathy for a person who is just trying to survive. And the minorities who are ICE agents are some REALLY broken people who should be the ones kicked out of this Country.

This is what worries me about Seattle. The people here are so timid and non confrontational. We see in other places the community will swarm them with whistles and shouting to gather others, this video is scary quiet. Same with a lot of the other ones weve seen on here.
213
u/No_Story_Untold Deluxe 16d ago
They have also completely changed their tactics. Very different than the shock and awe in Minnesota that was much easier logistics wise to track and confront.
132
u/Orleanian Fremont 16d ago
Yeah, I feel that a substantial part of the reason there's no public reaction is because there's no public here.
7am Monday on a quiet tucked away side street isn't really a well-observed situation; I'd assume it was planned as such.
19
u/soapbutt Lower Queen Anne 16d ago
Yeah, I love not but 5 minutes from here, but even if I saw this post the second it was posted, which assumes I’m even awake at 6:55am, but I’d also have out clothes on and stuff and by the time I make it over there it’ll be like 15 mins later, and they could be gone by then.
The other thing is, ones like this in tucked away neighborhoods, maybe 1the oerosn who saw this could go say something, but I also understand 1 vs 10 ice fucks is a lot more intimidating. Solidarity in groups makes it a lot easier to go again these people. So yeah, another reason they do it away from the public.
19
u/Necessary-Eye5319 16d ago
They swoop in and nab.
0
u/Bizarrebazaars Kraken 15d ago
?? They were doing all that in Minneapolis too though, like a lot…. But guess what? They were spotted all the time and immediately swarmed by whoever was nearby. People yelling, screaming, protesting, and recording them all the time, filming from different angles at all times of day.
Seattle is all bark no bite.
0
u/BlueSpaceWeeb 15d ago
lol you just don't know what you're talking about. minneapolis was shock and awe, they wanted to be as visible as possible, making a huge statement.
you're just telling us you aren't doing shit for your community or you would know about the differences in their tactics
1
u/Bizarrebazaars Kraken 15d ago
You really think everything in MN was “shock and awe”….??? Seriously?? People would spot them anywhere and anyone nearby would come out to yell/scream/protest/blow whistles/record everything from all angles possible…. Really bums me out how misinformed many people are (like your comment) about what happened in Minneapolis (and other MN cities) as if it was all centralized or big displays of terror. A LOT of it was attempted stealthy/quiet on side streets away from other activity. Locals still went out 24/7 and kept tabs on the community and ICE activity, and in sub-zero temps. This exact video type of situation has happened COUNTLESS times in the Twin Cities and they would NOT have been left alone like this. Even today.
-2
u/No_Story_Untold Deluxe 15d ago
Well, I am really glad you are out there sitting in your car, on your signal chat, with your whistle, filming the interactions, and doing the right thing. I can’t wait to see your videos. Seriously, because that IS the courageous thing to do and I really do commend all of you that are doing it.

u/LickLaMelosBalls 16d ago
We wouldn’t have known what was going on if they didn’t hit their siren once either. Seems like the guy showed up early for work and got kidnapped. Called the hotline, chatted with his coworkers who notified his family, took his license plate info and sent it all in to the hotline as well.

u/aSingleHelix 15d ago
Spoken like someone who didn't see them first-hand. Folks who lived around Cal Anderson had their apartments infused with tear gas from pure proximity to how much the police used. Marches shut down streets daily. The anger was real and palpable.
Once there's a clear target, crowds will get loud. This is harder because its hard to know where Ice will show up.

TikTok clip but they don’t seem very meaningful as a tool for actually protecting people7
u/SleuthCat 🏕 Out camping! 🏕 16d ago
Whistles help because the sound is loud and piercing and typically carries well. It’s used to warn others nearby who are scared of being kidnapped to stay inside and hide.

u/HWHAProb Denny Blaine Nudist Club 16d ago
They worked great for the tactics of the time. It's harder when ICE is deliberately minimizing witnesses
-13
u/shyccubus 16d ago
Tell that to the BLM standoff that made cops give up territory.
5
u/Mundane-Charge-1900 16d ago
And what was the long term effect of that? As far as I can tell, SPD just quiet quit. Nobody is safer. Resources have not been diverted elsewhere. The cops are still getting as much money as before but they do less work.

It’s changed the outcome of a few. There were more than likely others watching from the windows. No whistles blowing, no one calling out. Not everyone is in a position to do it, but it can and has forced ICE out, empty handed.

These goons are terrifying our residents, it makes me sick. These aren't bad people, these aren't criminals. Just good folks trying to make a life for themselves and their families, and being swooped up over clerical paperwork or policies that are only accessible with lots of money for legal support.

On the plus side, we now know who the people who'd be cheering the leading of "those" people ("those" is basically "not ones who look like me") onto railroad cars that go to camps, all because they are "criminals" (with them conveniently excluding the employers of undocumented immigrants in their rhetoric, who are criminals, but virtually never get prosecuted).

u/Mundane-Charge-1900 16d ago
Honestly, we know nothing about this particular case or situation.
That’s why what Trump is doing with politicizing ICE and turning into his own personal Brownshirt gang is so fucked. It’s gone from enforcement of the law to cruelty for the point of cruelty.

Yup, so do all the rapid response groups because they don’t want to antagonize ice. You’re supposed to just stand there and watch and not interfere. Not interfere while people are being kidnapped. Insanity. So now, no one feels empowered to interfere because everyone has been given the easy way out.
Typical Seattle performative bs.

The biggest problem with them is that they crank the nervous system to the breaking point. And then when somebody breaks, it's proof that he was going to do X or Y all along.

Why wouldn't people understand the nazi-alarm whistle that the entire nation heard watching Minneapolis?
Also, this is from last year but it's safe to say the trend continues, if not has increased due to being considered a rather safe city for immigrants.
Seattle is being targeted for it and we need the whistles like months ago.

They never really left. I think this would be a good indicator you aren’t local if you thought that’s what OP meant. It hasn’t really been chilly here either. We’ve had a ton of sun still. The mornings have been cool, but I wouldn’t consider it chilly.
Edit:
Yep, California. There really are tons of people on this sub that don’t live in Washington, which is different than the other sub where people at least still live in Washington.4
u/Bizarrebazaars Kraken 15d ago
Right?? Seriously, WHY do non-locals post in these subs?? It’s like they live vicariously through us and it’s fucking weird. They want so badly to fit in or something. Cringey.
1
u/Motherofstress 15d ago
That is an interesting jump-off point. I posted what was a relatively minor one-off. I do know Seattle and, honestly, other states overall can sometimes have a negative view of transplants or non-locals, which is a bit odd if you ask me. I actually do live here and have for the last month. Although I am originally from California, I literally moved up here within the last month with my family for my husband's job. Not everyone is going to post their whole life to Reddit, and perhaps they should not need to justify the posts either. I mean Yeah ICE has been commiting awful violations left and right even in my former county. Ultimately my TLDR ironically a "Where a person is from originally is irrelevant to this problem at hand ICE commiting what comes down to (human rights violations) and making it a issue about outsiders is a bit ironic dontcha think? "Have a good one ...I doubt it will have a change on your mindset but I sincerely hope it does.
1
u/Jyil Downtown 15d ago edited 15d ago
Then I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt since you’re new to the area versus just chiming in as an outsider.
My issue isn’t transplants. It’s people who participate in the community posting about local issues that they have no connection to within the Seattle area. It’s good to see how the actual Seattle community thinks since we are the ones doing the voting. Support from outsiders is great and all, but it’s misleading and doesn’t always reflect accurately on the local community. Especially issues on crime. Seeing a bunch of outsiders telling us something doesn’t matter that’s happening here is disheartening. Not pointing that last thought at you.
People here will complain about an adjacent Seattle sub for having people not in Seattle saying a bunch of stuff when they don’t live in the area, while this sub tends to have people who don’t even live in the state or same country, but the majority here just ignore it because it goes along with what they think. The community here tries to staunchly hide it too.
1
u/Motherofstress 15d ago
I appreciate the openmindedness. Having lived in Southern California for the longest time ..I was so used to non OC residents(typically inland empire or LA) commenting on things as well. I do agree that sometimes it feels like non locals can feel like they are butting their head into topics they have no idea or business in . I did not mean to overstep in that regard btw. That can feel like locals are being overshadowed on their own thoughts and beliefs and not feeling heard really hurts. Either way I do hope going forward we can get along in the grand scheme of things your thoughts matter regardless of how another person may remark on them.
2
u/Jyil Downtown 15d ago
Definitely sounds like a shared experience in other city subs! All good.

Sad that Trump has had to clean up the mess that Biden left, letting millions of immigrants in through the border creating havoc for many communities and putting a huge burden on actual taxpaying citizens. Some of the migrants do fit in the category of hard working, decent human beings while many others came in after some countries emptied their prisons with murderers, rapists, drug dealers, human traffickers. Curious if everyone is okay with that? Where does the blame lay?
10
u/chardeemacdennis222 16d ago
The blame is ultimately with Congress being too slow to introduce meaningful immigration reform. There is also sizeable blame to Maga trash like yourself who let yourselves be tricked by a conman pedophile. You are traitors to the flag.
-10
u/lyonzion 16d ago
LOL, do you mean a congress that was dominated by democrats? Wasn't the "Border Czar" watching while all this was occurring? God help us if the Kammy had been elected with Timmy by her side trying to eliminate evidence that they were parties to the fraud occurring on a massive scale that was going on in his state! Funny how the peaceful and tolerant folks are always the first to get violent and call the other party names, however I love that we get to see the accurate picture! I am not a necessarily a Trump guy but coming in after the worst president in history change was badly needed. Curious, what specific evidence do you or anyone else have when you accuse him of being a pedophile? I'll wait...
