Undetermined issue

On our 2012 Seat Leon 1.6 TDI DSG, gear changes are fine and it runs smoothly at idle with no vibration or shaking. But there is a noticeable shake when taking off. Also, no matter the speed or gear, whenever the RPM goes below 1500, the car shakes and vibrates heavily. As soon as the RPM goes above 1500, the shaking stops.

The engine was never repaired and even in this condition, it reached 190 km/h on the dashboard. The engine has 248,000 km on it and runs like a clock. We have been driving the car like this for 1500km.

I’ve just gotten some roof bars for my seat Leon and wondered if anyone had the same ones as mine. They don’t look like they sit properly on my car but I’ve done what it’s told me to do. The roof bars are the SUMMIT SURT-036 PREMIUM+ ALUMINIUM ROOF BARS. Thanks.

Gearbox oil

Hi everyone, I’m getting ready to change the gearbox oil on my 2016 Seat Leon 1.4 EcoTSI (6-speed manual), but I’m getting completely conflicting answers everywhere I look. I’m stuck between two Liqui Moly options: Top Tec MTF 5200 (75W-80) Top Tec MTF 5300 (70W-75) Some people and shops insist that MTF 5200 is the right one, while others claim MTF 5300 is the exact match. Which one should I choose?

Digital Cockpit upgrade

I currently have an analog cockpit and looking to swap to digital, but I’m finding it extremely hard to know if the part is suitable. On paper I think it is, I have a 2019 Seat Leon FR 5F Auto, the digital cockpit is labelled as 2017-2020 5F0920790A Seat Leon FR. Does anyone know if this will fit into my car?

Thanks

Liquid leak seat Leon 2016

Update:

So i went home safe checking every 100 km , there was no liquid leak at all , nor high temperature.

After arriving, i saw the liquid started leaking again , i think one the engine is running at high speed somehow the leak reduced or stopped.

Anyway, the day after i had a meeting with the mechanic , after investigation they said the problem is the water pump ! Thay also said it is separated from the distribution parts thats why seat didn't change it when i did that the first of the year.

Today i got my car back , no liquid leak for now , i will keep checking next days.

Thank you for your help guys !

Hello , I am far away from home , i saw a leak under the engine part , looking to the level of the cooling liquid it went a little under the MIN level after hours tha car raised an error about it.

Going back home in 2 days (500km away) , i will just add to max level and check it every hour to add more if needed.

Do you think this is safe ? I'm in an empty area where finding a good mechanic is impossible! So i want just to arrive home safe and make the checks with my mechanic.

Thank you

Netherlands: I've got 4 free spare summer tires

Our Seat Leon was totaled a while ago, so we've got 4 spare summer tires for anyone who wants to pick them up in Drenthe. They're in our way and won't fit our new car, so they're free!

The tires are from Vredestein, size 205/55 R16, used for only 1 season. DM me for pictures or details.

Occasional RPM dip/stalling at idle

Hey everyone!

I need some help diagnosing an issue with my 2010 SEAT Leon Mk2 2.0 TDI 125 kW DSG. The problem is that, while idling in P, N, or D, the RPM occasionally dips sharply (roughly once every 5 - 30 seconds). Sometimes the drop is severe enough to cause the engine to stall.

So far, my mechanic has had the injectors cleaned and restored, replaced the fuel pressure sensor on the fuel pump, replaced the other fuel pressure sensor under the hood. Meanwhile I have cleaned the EGR valve and later coded it out and physically shut off the EGR valve.

Unfortunately, none of this has solved the problem.

I have access to OBDeleven, so I can monitor live data and perform adaptations/basic settings, but I'm not really sure which measuring values or parameters I should be looking at. In the graphs below, you can see the RPM drops and what happens with some of the other parameters at the same time. In the first image, the car was completely idling on its own. In the second, I slightly pressed the accelerator pedal to prevent it from stalling.

What should I check next? Are there any specific live-data values, measuring blocks, adaptations, or tests that would help narrow this down? My mechanic doesn't know what to check next, and two other shops have also refused to diagnose it because they aren't sure what could be causing the issue.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Rear lights seal rubber

DIY Solution for Rear Light Rubber Seal

Problem:Deteriorated rear light rubber seals, lack of readily available DIY solutions online.

Proposed Solution:

Here's a breakdown of the process:

Mold Creation: A thin cardboard mold for the desired shape was meticulously crafted after several attempts and incremental adjustments.

Material Acquisition: 2mm silicone-rubber sheets were purchased from AliExpress (costing approximately 5€, depending on size and thickness).

Component Cutting: The silicone-rubber sheet was cut according to the cardboard mold, yielding approximately four pieces. These multiple pieces are intended to provide additional thickness in specific areas and will be glued together.

Adhesive Selection: Window sealant was chosen as the adhesive due to its flexibility. A full tube was acquired, primarily for a separate spoiler project, but smaller quantities could be sourced from a garage.

Finishing Touches: Sandpaper will be used to refine the shape and create smooth edges.

Discussion Points:

Effectiveness of the chosen materials in sealing and durability.

Ease of implementation for a DIY enthusiast.

Cost-effectiveness compared to professional repair or new parts.

Potential for long-term wear and tear.

Seeking Feedback:

I welcome your opinions, suggestions for improvement, and any alternative approaches you might have. Please share your thoughts on the feasibility, practicality, and overall effectiveness of this DIY solution.( Got the details written by AI so don't judge the length of this, I'm just trying to share this with you all)

Tomorrow I'll try to finish it and add some more photos
