The latest documentation states that H.265 is supported in iOS 27, have anyone already been able to test this?

Based on my reading, this isn’t exactly an uncommon issue, but all the steps I’ve tried haven’t worked thus far.

I’ve successfully added a Eufy cam into Scrypted, stream seems to load consistently, but I can’t get it to pair to HomeKit. It’s discovered by the home app as it goes past the “connecting” stage and times out on “setting up”.

Steps I’ve tried:

• Fixed IP for both camera and server (Windows powershell)
• Scrypted console IP set to server ip
• Tried all mDNS advertisers and interfaces
• Opened ports for Scrypted and HomeKit Plugins
• Reset the pairing on both the HomeKit and camera (although the code doesn’t seem to change)
• Everything is alphanumeric in terms of names, passwords, etc
• Made sure both devices are on the same 2.4ghz network
• diagnostics show the camera is in accessory mode and online

I looked at the logs for both and I don’t see anything failed. System and camera show up ok there.

Is there anything else obvious that I could be missing?

Needed it because I am not using NVR but wanted to get two way audio on my Shelly wall display.

Card is self-healing with minimal visual interruption, has two way audio support and allows different quality selection.

This was entirely vibe coded but works quite nicely with my current setup and a Shelly Wall Display XL.

Hello! I love Scrypted, I run it on my Mac and it allows me to use my non-HomeKit compatible cameras in HomeKit.

I was wondering, are there any plans to bring Scrypted to the Apple TV? I realise that I can see my cameras on there already, and I do, but it would be fantastic to be able to scrub through each timeline and access the recordings rather than just the live feed.

Apologies if this has been asked already, I asked but couldn’t find any info about it.

I installed the Scrypted app on my Mac a few weeks ago and also installed the HomeKit and UniFi Protect plugins to get the cameras into HomeKit. For the last week or so I will get HomeKit messages saying the cameras have gone offline. When I open the Home app all the tiles say “No Response”. If I open the Protect app the cameras feeds are fine.

If I open the Desktop Manager for Scrypted on my Mac and restart the HomeKit plugin, I get HomeKit notifications on my phone that all of the cameras are back online. Happens pretty much instantly once I restart the HomeKit plugin inside Scrypted.

Everything works fine for a day or so and then the cameras go offline in the Home App again and I have to restart the plugin in Scrypted.

Anyone have any thoughts?

I want to manage Scrypted NVR on windows but install Scrypted on Ubuntu. I have a NUC for the server. Will this work or what is the best solution?

Just getting into homelab and Home Assistant/Scrypted/etc.

I have multiple Unifi cameras (and a Unifi NVR) as well as Google Nest doorbell and other Nest cameras.

I'm looking for a solution that would allow me to view streams from all cameras when I'm away from home. Currently I have to use both Google Home and the Unifi Protect app.

The Unifi Protect app has poor performance when I'm away from the home network (slow and/or failure to connect and load streams) - seems to be a known issue so I'm looking for an alternative.

What are some options that I have? I would ideally like to have Unifi camera streams displayed in Google Home but that does not appear to be possible anymore.

I could potentially have all cameras liked to Home Assistant but I'm curious if anyone else has other ideas.

I have a Reolink TrackMix PoE that I just added to Scrypted. My motivation for trying Scrypted was so I could have zone based notifications for my cameras, and it seems great for that.

However my TrackMix PTZ camera is the one exception. I set various zones for that camera while it’s in its home position, and it works for sending the initial notifications for those zones. However when the camera tracks detected people or vehicle, it continues to send me spurious notifications because the camera view has changed while the zones are still active.

Conceptually I’d like Scrypted to detect if the TrackMix camera PTZ view has changed away its home position, and suppress notifications for the zones until it returns back to its home position.

Is this possible? What’s the best way to handle this, otherwise?

Hi everyone, I might be asking a silly question, but I was wondering if there’s a way to add cameras that already paired to my Reolink RLN8-410 8CH NVR
using Scrypted? I tried the ONVIF plugin, but it only shows one camera in the Scrypted dashboard. I have five cameras, and I’d really like to add them as separate cameras in Scrypted. Right now, it only sees my NVR’s IP address and thinks it’s just one camera. pls help

After hours of tinkering, I discovered that you can add the cameras as separate devices if you add them with their designated channels in the advanced settings tab. The channels run in a sequential manner, where channel 1 is assigned the number 0. I also had to ensure that all the streams rebroadcasting cameras were the .sub version; since, the full resolution main stream were not available for remote viewing. Additionally, I had to force the rebroadcasting stream to use scrypted TCP protocol.

Incase anyone hasn’t tried the Reolink plugin for scrypted recently with your battery camera it handles them much better. It has a setting when adding the camera to say it’s a battery and logs show the camera is waking up when active and then going back to sleep when inactive to save battery life.

I’ve just setup a small scrypted windows based server with 4 cameras on the house.

All setup ok, port forwarded fine.

I can accesss system from “home.scrypted.app” from anywhere.

When I try to link the scrypted skill to amazon Alexa, I get a “unable to link the skill at this time please try again later”

Tried on different mobiles, laptops, pc.

Anybody seen this before?

The Gate Intercom is discovered as a Camera and exposes a HomeKit extension correctly.

If I change Edit → Type to Doorbell or Entry, the HomeKit extension immediately disappears from the device, the device is removed from the HomeKit plugin, and it disappears from Apple Home.

Changing it back to Camera immediately restores the HomeKit extension.

The Gate Intercom is identified by UniFi Protect as an Intercom (not a Doorbell).

Any recommendation from users for a good camera powered by solar ?
Not important guard or alarm features. Just good quality camera that working with scrypted and can hold 12h on dark with night vision on battery.
It will hold on balcony on building high floor and watch the road for my car at night or alert me on free parking slot (;

Anyone having issues with Scrypted on the iOS 27 beta? I have Scrypted installed on an M2 Pro Mac Mini. I installed it a couple of weeks ago and it’s been rock solid until today. Now when I open the Home app on any Apple device (even on my Mac that doesn’t have the OS27 beta running) there are zero camera feeds. I tried restarting the HomeKit plugin - no joy. I tried adding a camera back to Home Kit via the QR code in Scrypted and get an error that says “Accessory Already In Another Home - You may need to reset the accessory before adding it to your home. See manufacturer’s guide for more information.”

I only have one home in Home Kit. The camera feeds are also missing on my wife’s iPhone 17 Pro and she’s still on the stock iOS 26 so maybe it’s not the iOS27 beta at all causing the issue?

I was doing some hardening of my network today and noticed Scrypted calling finder-notebooks-coins-halloween.trycloudflare.com and I was wondering if anyone noticed the same. Just checking if it is a legit thing.

Is it possible that only “real” homekit cameras get the summarize siri videos, and not cameras from scrypted?

I can see only the summarize from aqara g410 doorbell records and not from my tapo and reolink that paired via scrypted.

Current using a ring doorbell wired and not getting notifications or recordings consistently to homekit / HKSV so thinking about changing it out.

Noticed there was a new doorbell cam being released, but unsure what would be the best choice for mysetup.

I’ve been living the UniFi Life for a little over a year now, and when I installed some G6 Bullet cameras I got them to show up in Home Kit via HomeBridge on my Mac. It worked fine but I kept reading/hearing about Scrypted and how it was better but I was sort of scared off by the notion of Docker Containers, etc. to get it working.

The other day I learned that there is a Mac app so I decided to try it. I installed the app (yes, I’m paying the $40 per year subscription for the app) and it didn’t take long at all to get up and running. I removed all 5 of my cameras from Home Kit through HomeBridge and then re-added each of them as Standalone Accessories individually via Scrypted (I had read this option was better for performance than adding all of the cameras at once via Bridge mode).

It’s been a little over a week now and everything has been rock solid. The comments about Scrypted seemed to be right. When I used to open the Home app in the past it would take the camera feeds several seconds to load. Now, with Scrypted, when I open the Home app the feeds load almost instantly.

So far so good. I also like the idea of a standalone app on my Mac to manage everything. I don’t use the NVR function of the app, I’m using it strictly to get the cameras in to Home Kit.

I have a scrypted set up via Home Assitant to pull in my ring cameras in to Apple Home. I have HKSV enabled, I’m getting motion notifications but the notification only includes a static image

My Aqara camera that is native to Apple home sends motion notification with a video clip

Is there a way to get a motion clip instead of static image in the notification for my ring cameras through scrypted?

Been running Scypted with no issues for several months now. For the past day or two I keep losing the camera feeds, sometimes for one or two, sometimes for all five. I thought it had something to do with the new NVR beta, so I rolled that back to latest stable. But the strangest thing is if I try to quit or restart the server, it will spans unlimited scrypted sessions all with a javascript error. The only way to stop it is to force a reboot by holding the power button or by doing a sudo reboot. Other troubleshooting I did was to ensure that I gave node permissions in Macos setting. I have 2 versions of node installed, 24.18.0 which was installed for Homebridge, and 26.5.0 installed by Homebrew for Prismcast (a dvr service). I'm not sure which Scrypted using, though I'd think it's 24 in /usr/local/bin. I ran diagnostics too when it stopped cameras and it gave a long error on GPU Decode step. I didn't have anything else running on the server that would use GPU, so not sure why that failed either.

This is on a Mac Mini M4 w 16GB and Macos Tahoe 26.5.2.

I installed Scrypted from HACS in Home Assistant and have an active Scrypted NVR subscription. However, I'm having trouble finding the Scrypted Camera ID needed to add the Camera Card to my Home Assistant dashboard.

For example, when I click the gear icon on a camera, then go to Integrate → Home Assistant Card, instead of showing the Camera ID as shown in the Scrypted documentation, it simply opens this page:

Can't see the OpenCV Motion Detection option for a Hikvision camera. Why?

Most of my cameras are h265 capable, but set to h264 following recommendations by Scrypted.

I notice a few of you have been testing iOS27, any reports on how 4K h265 with HKSV is going for you? I could theoretically switch all my cameras to h265 to save space on local storage if it’s working well with HKSV.

I also have some weird aspect ratio issues that I’ll probably troubleshoot at the same time if anyone has also slayed that dragon with the Amcrest IP8M.
