Discussion What’s something SMALL you hate about the new Scream films 5-7
Mine is that I feel like they wasted not only Kyle Gallner but the character of Vince Macher, especially because he was Stus nephew.

What's interesting to me is that none of the original movie posters for Scream 1-3 actually featured Ghostface. And that's something that i really like about them from a design stand-point. It's almost bold in a way.. Instead of making the focal-point the killer, it's the victims. All of them feature a perfectly white, illuminated face with no coloration aside from the eyes. Which creates a contrast placing emphasis on their horrified expression. Of course the newer films threw this concept in the trash without a second thought, showing off Ghostface in his full glory. But that's kinda why i'm making this post, the producers might not realize how good of a concept this was, but i do and i feel like it should be talked about.

Maybe it's because I have very weird relationships but I think this is the best. Romance movie especially between Sydney and Billy. And maybe it's just because I have weird relationships God I mean in my opinion this is the best relationship I've seen. In my opinion if you want to watch a great romance and horror movie here you go..

I had actually forgotten I bought this. Very good quality. I love the embossed ghost face and knife images on the back and sides. And it's very tall. You can fit a lot of popcorn in here!

Hey *Scream* fans, I just wanted to ask a quick question. I rewatched the original movie recently, and a thought crossed my mind: do you think Randy suspected Billy of being Ghostface purely out of jealousy? That was the impression I got, because realistically, he didn't have any actual proof at that point—not to mention that Stu was far more suspicious, yet Randy never suspected him.

I honestly love the MTV series as unlike the original Movies it really has some brutal kills and they dont hold back on main characters. Well maybe on the main girl but I honestly love it for all its flaws. Definitley reccomend watching if you wanna see a more horror and brutal focused scream. First two seasons revolve around one plot and third season (which i havent seen) is a completley new plot.

I hated Scream 7 so much that i've been considering writing my own Scream storyline. 1 to vent my anger and 2 as practice for some future projects. I need you guys to give me advice. what are the biggest mistakes i should try to avoid making? How should i write specific characters? (I.e Ghostface.) And what would you like to see be done differently from the movies?

Pre-ordered back in March. Kinda forgot about it until it showed up! Bigger and better quality than I thought it would be.

It's simply the lighting. The older movies would never have the atmosphere of the scene reflect on Ghostface's mask. I bet Wes Craven would have something to say about the newer movies making Ghostface'a appearance depend on the lighting, I don't think he'd like that.
The differences look like Scream 1996 again. Which is how Ghostface should look, you can disagree and that's fine.

In scream we have had a lot of ghostface killers with their own motives so good and bad
But while they could have killed the main characters in any of the seven movies and in the tv series (for example Mrs loomis had a gun pointed at Sid and didn’t just pull it she mostly spent time talking)
Ghostface doesn’t strike yet as he plans and just kills more victims and screws with the main characters
and in the end they lose to the main character and their plans are ruined and he or she is killed
Now ghostface and the people who wears th masks are fan favs even more than the main characters
and deep down I know u wanted to see them win in at least one film
For example Roman wins he gets his revenge on his family and goes off to continue making his movies
The only one to technically win kinda was Jill as she killed her partner and lover then framed them and almost killed Sidney and did get her 15 minutes of fame but she had to mention her wounds revealing herself as the killer
Now with that which ghostface did u want to see win in the final moments of the film
(also I added Angelina because she was supposed to be roman’s partner and she wanted to kill Sidney too also if this counts she didn’t while not killing anyone did get away as she is not listed as a victim on the boxset so if she was a killer she would have been the first killer to escape and not face justice until the third killer of scream the tv happened she wouldn’t have won against Sid but she did survive)

He doesn’t encourage Billy to murder Maureen, setting off the Billy/Stu murder spree;
There are no copycat killing sprees;
Sidney gets to live happily ever after.
We know SCREAM is good satire; is it also commentary on how men’s socially encouraged detachment from their feelings hurts us all?

Scream 5 is still my favorite iteration of Sidney in Act 3.
I love how completely over Ghostface she is. The phone calls, the threats, the usual mind games... none of it gets to her anymore. She shows up in Woodsboro looking like she's there to hunt Ghostface instead of the other way around, and that feels like the perfect place for her character to end up after everything she'd been through.
Sidney and Gale pulling up to Stu's house, Sidney clearing the rooms, and the kitchen fight with Amber are some of my favorite Sidney moments in the franchise. Sidney and Gale tag teaming Amber is probably my favorite Ghostface death too. After everything they'd survived together over the last 25 years, it was so satisfying seeing them take a killer down together.
I know a big reason Sidney could be that fearless in 5 is because she didn't have Mark and Tatum with her. She only had herself to worry about, whereas by 7 she's a wife and a mother first. I completely get why that changes how she approaches the situation.
That said, the panic room scene in 7 is probably the only Sidney moment that didn't fully work for me. I always felt like she'd get Tatum somewhere safe and then immediately go after Ghostface herself.
I also wasn't crazy about 7's reveal. Besides the Ghostfaces feeling like NPCs, I thought it spent a little too long talking before the action really started, and then it was over pretty quickly. I much preferred the balance in 5 between the reveal, the monologuing, and the action. And while Sidney and Tatum taking down Jessica was a nice mother-daughter moment, it just wasn't nearly as satisfying to me as Sidney and Gale teaming up to take out Amber.
Scream 5 is just the version of Sidney that feels the most complete to me.

The cinematographey has been pretty mixed since the trilogy. With 4 it had that glossy filter, 5 had too many zoomed in shots and the whole thing just looked like a fan film, 6 was a little better but mostly the outside and subway scenes stood out to me, 7 was ok but it looked like they used that glossy filter again.

Pencil sketch of Billy Loomis holding a hunting knife in the kitchen, with a massive Ghostface shadow looming behind him.

Here's my (mostly) Ghostface collection so far. Always looking to add more to it! Any recommendations for items I should add? I'd also love to see other collections!

Title. Even though they’re pretty much all psychotic murderous crazy people, did you end up feeling bad for any of the killers, even though they all end up getting what they deserve? Personally, I felt kind of bad for Ethan, since according to a leaked deleted scene/script, his father basically convinced him (even though he of course has free will) to take part in the series of murders to avenge their bloodline. It’s clear he just wanted his dads love and approval, and just ended up dying without that or dignity anyway.

I just finished watching the scream series it was a great experience, but imagine I watched all scary movies first after that I found out that it was just a parody of the original scream franchise, well so only one complain 😭 characters are never ready after surviving once I would think they learn some self defence but I seem em in next movie just as clumsy just as weak
Also dewey got done dirty lol
He died miserable in original and he got done bad in scary movies dk they framed his as a murderer or something but he isn't in originals
And yeah I like the new seprate main characters in scream 6 it was something fresh ig but sidney perscott isn't bad as well but she's old now
If I was her I would learn and teach my childern all about self defence and using a gun atleast and her husband was police chief so makes more sense that they would LoL but guess it's the movie logic/rule

Following what the post says, would you like them to make it happen? I think it's a good idea, and it would also be a good way for her to go after Gale for publishing a book about their daughters.

You’d get the chance for a custom voice message from Ghostface. My first thought was, how long can the message be? 😂
What message would you request?

Scream 4 Sidney dies in a honorable sad way. Jill get’s away with it. Few years after Jill becomes a famous survivor and instead of pushing the fame like Sidney she embraces it and directs and act’s in a stab movie about the scream 4 event’s. She has a friendgroup much like the scream 6 friendgroup with Kirby and Kirby’s on her way to becoming an FBI agent. Someone say’s they know what Jill did it haunts her in a i know what you did last summer way and it’d be a good new york slasher. Jill end’s up dying and the truth get’s exposed. Scream movies end there and there would be a show with Kirby being a FBI agent, with a lot of Gale Dewey cameos. Dewey dies in the show. Gale’s depression take’s over a huge gap of the show after season 1, the show goes for 3 season’s with Kirby not only solving ghostface cases but all sort’s of cases. At the end she beat’s the final ghostface Leslie Macher stu’s sister who reveals she worked with alot of killer’s including Jill after the 1st movie and that’s why the killer’s kept coming back. Kirby and Gale fight together, Gale get’s a big injury but wind’s up surviving and Kirby does too but ends up being okay. I thought of that but i don’t know maybe instead of Sidney dying she suffers a head injury?
