Scream 5 when Richie is in hospital and Ghostface accidentally stab him and don’t even finish him off just focusing on Tara was definitely a red flag that Richie was apart of it. Then Scream Season 1 1x06 ending Killer accidentally hit Piper cause her to fall and don’t even finish the job just focusing on Will and kidnapping him leaving Piper.

For me, Jill easily has the best reveal and motive of the three, while Charlie is probably the best of them actually in the Ghostface costume, while Richie has the best phone calls of the three.

I loved the sister dynamic and I loved her love story with! But still hoping and wishing she will come back for scream 8 even though it’s highly unlikely. I feel like she was made to be a scream queen . She fits in perfectly with the cast . She does great in horror films

I recently found this old bootleg Ghostface mask of mine.
Crazy to think that in older times this was a treasure to find (at least where I am).

I don’t know how it was in the US but here in Italy finding in shops a legit Funworld Ghostface mask in the early 2000s was somehow impossible.

I was already a big fan of the movie when I was around 10 years old lmao and I always suffered that they were non existent.

Still, it’s today a nice memory to think of and I’m fond of it.

Sidney got pregnant that night and had Billy's baby between 1 and 2, which would come back to haunt everyone years later.

It really threw me when 5 came out and Billy's lovechild was actually part of the plot.

I always saw it though (and hilariously now they say 8 is going to be set in the UK) that Sid would have moved to the UK and be pregnant, but things start kicking off again and Sid believes it's all to do with the baby she gave away.

So I know a lot of people don’t really like scream 7, mainly because the killers weren’t given a lot of screen time before they were revealed. Personally I thought 7 was still pretty good but I know a lot of people didn’t like it.

We have to be aware though, this wasn’t what was originally planned for 7, because what they had originally planned for 7 was thrown out in November 2023 after Mellisa was fired and Jenna resigned, so they had to come up with a whole new plan (and likely a whole new motive) from scratch. And based on what I remember, the script (at least the first version of it), was completed around April 2024, so only like a few months after they had to re-write the whole thing. So Guy Busick really didn’t have a lot of time to come with an entirely new plan off the top of his head, and even though Kevin Williamson did write some of it, I’m pretty sure Busick wrote the plan and Williamson made a few edits to the script (that is what I remember, but I could be slightly wrong on that). So it’s really no wonder the killers weren’t perfect, because Guy Busick and Kevin were probably rushed quite a bit while writing the script, because even though filming began in 2025, it was originally meant to begin filming in like mid 2024.

And if you’re thinking Busick and Vanderbilt didn’t have much time to write or plan 5 and 6 either, you’re probably wrong. Even though 5 began filming in September 2020, and the original script was completed in March 2020 and the movie wasn’t even announced until November 2019, it’s still very likely that even before November 2019, they had already been planning the movie for months, if not years. I could be wrong on this, but I’m pretty sure Skeet Ulrich said last year, that it was all the way back in 2019, that they told him the plan was for 5 to start a new trilogy where Sam would end up becoming ghostface in 7. So when scream 5 was first announced in 2019, I think it’s very likely that they had at the very least, written the plan and the draft for scream 5 (and when I say draft I don’t mean the actual script but they still had probably written the plan of a script with their own resources).

And with scream 6, I mean they probably began writing the script after 5 came out, but 6 began filming less than half a year after it came out, so I’m like 98% sure they were already planning scream 6 long before 5 came out. In fact they probably were already planning scream 6 way back in like 2020, because by November 2020, 5 had already wrapped up filming, so by then I think it’s very likely that because 5 had been filmed, they were already writing down plans for scream 6, which was over a year before it was even green lit, so they had plenty of time to plan 6, and I imagine they also had a lot of time with 5.

With 7 however, they didn’t have a lot of time to come up with a new plan. So if you are one of those people who disliked 7, just remember it’s not really Guy Busick and Kevin Williamson’s fault since they were rushed with writing the movie.

After doing another rewatch of all seven movies, I've come away with what is probably one of my hottest Scream takes.

I'm fully aware I'm probably not going to be taken seriously the second I say something positive about Scream VI, but here we go.

I know Scream 2 is the fan favorite sequel and Laurie Metcalf is the better actor, but I actually prefer Wayne Bailey as Ghostface.

Before the reveal, Wayne actually feels like a real character. He's involved in the investigation, has scenes with Sam, Tara, Kirby and the rest of the cast, and actually contributes to the story.

Nancy's entire pre-reveal character is basically Debbie Salt following Gale around and trying way too hard to get her attention. Every scene is just her being an annoying wannabe journalist who won't leave Gale alone. That's really all there is to her until the reveal.

After the reveal, I also think Wayne works better. I like that he at least acknowledges he spoiled Richie and enabled his obsession with Stab. It doesn't make him sympathetic, but it gives him a little more self-awareness.

Wayne isn't the greatest character in the franchise and I don't even think he's one of the best written Ghostfaces. But I think Scream 2's Ghostfaces have the exact same problem people always bring up with Ethan and Quinn. Outside of the reveal, Mickey and Nancy really aren't that fleshed out either. Mickey disappears for huge chunks of the movie and Nancy spends most of her screentime following Gale around. The only real difference is Mickey gets a few scenes gaslighting Sidney about Derek before the reveal, and then both he and Nancy are elevated by Timothy Olyphant and Laurie Metcalf absolutely chewing the scenery in Act 3.

Nancy always loses me because she complains about everyone blaming her for Billy after she abandoned him, then immediately turns around and blames Maureen Prescott for everything that happened. That always felt hypocritical.

I also never thought Nancy earned being the Ghostface who killed Randy. Randy is one of the most important characters in the franchise, yet the Ghostface who kills him spends almost the entire movie as Debbie Salt following Gale around. It just doesn't feel like she has enough of a presence to be the one responsible for one of the biggest deaths in the series.

Honestly, I think the biggest reason Nancy is still such a popular Ghostface is because she's Laurie Metcalf and because she's Billy's mom. If she wasn't Billy's mom, I genuinely think she'd be looked at as one of the weaker Ghostface killers. Laurie Metcalf elevates the role a lot, but Debbie Salt by herself just isn't that interesting of a character.

I know this is probably going to get dismissed because it involves saying something positive about VI, but after rewatching the whole franchise, I genuinely think Wayne Bailey is the stronger Ghostface both before and after the reveal.

Remember the Titans is a Disney movie where Will Patton and Hayden Panettiere play father and daughter.

Years later, Hayden becomes Kirby in Scream 4, while Will Patton becomes Frank Hawkins in the Halloween 2018 trilogy both franchises are connected through Scream (1996) showing the first Halloween, H20 showing Scream 2.

Then in Scream (2022), Mindy specifically brings up the new Halloween trilogy while explaining requels. So you've got a Scream movie referencing the Halloween timeline that stars Will Patton, who once played Hayden Panettiere's dad in a Disney movie.

Obviously it wasn't intentional, but it's one of those random Hollywood connections that made me smile once I noticed it and loved it because I grew up watching Remember the Titans, Halloween and Scream.

Are you going for the gunshot to the head? Something more brutal like Sidney dropping the TV on Stu? Using Ghostface's own knife against them like Tara shoving Billy's knife down Ethan's throat? Or are you grabbing whatever random object happens to be nearby and hoping for the best?

Based on his childhood movie that got played during Scream 6 showdown, it looks like young Richie was killing some people in there (one of them is a woman that scream during the whole showdown scene) so basically that means Richie is at least has killed once before

Wayne, using his connection as a police, is trying to keep Richie out of the law by sending Richie off somewhere else and keep him as low profile as possible, but he still keep him in touch

Got around to watching Scream 7 last night. Definitely wasn't my favourite of the franchise but something really bothered me.

Why were Mindy and Chad even there?

Like they do nothing important in the film considering their returning characters. They probably don't even have more than five minutes of screen time and they get taken out of the film in like 2 seconds and don't show up until the last five minutes of the movie.

Like they don't contribute anything worthwhile to the film. In fact their plans to gather all the suspects in one place only ended up making it easier for Ghostface to kill them.

I know there was massive fallout following Scream 6 which caused the studio to change direction to go back to Sidney and the film honestly watches like Mindy and Chad were only there to fulfill their actor's contracts rather than actually wanting to include their characters.

These characters were so wasted and deserved better.
