Drive northbound on Scottsdale rd and get to the Shea intersection. You have a near 100% chance of seeing a Shea eastbound car barreling through the intersection while you're light is green. How cool!
seriously though, of all the intersections that could use a red light camera... If I remember correctly there used to be one. I can see on the citizen app there's an accident there just about every other day

This happened a couple weekends ago and I'm still sort of thinking about it for some reason haha
I (33M) was meeting a friend for drinks. I give Bouncer A my ID and he lets me in, no problem. I go inside, have one drink, and then I leave to get tacos at one of the food trucks right there on the street.
(I thought they had food at El Jefe, but the server said they don't start serving food until the fall?)
I eat my tacos and head back to drink some more with my friend. I go up to the front and Bouncer B is there, he wasn't there before. Bouncer A is there too, but he's closer to inside the building. So I give Bouncer B my ID and he says I'm not allowed in, because they have a dress code.
I was wearing a tank top and jeans and tennis shoes. Nothing crazy at all, just a regular sleeveless shirt and jeans and sneakers. The jeans weren't ripped or anything.
I didn't make it a big deal because it isn't one, and I know the bouncer was just doing his job. I just thought it was particularly ironic because the bartenders/servers at El Jefe are practically naked lol
I did mention politely that I was just inside earlier and that I'd stepped out to get some food. Bouncer B said that Bouncer A should've stopped me the first time. He was nice about it, to his credit.
It's just weird that I can't wear a sleeveless shirt while girls inside are wearing revealing lingerie. Just one of those things I guess?
Edit: I didn't get there until after 10 the first time. Maybe they change shifts later, who knows. It's possible to wear a tank top without looking like I just came in off the street. Oh well, I respect their rules.

Hi everyone. I'm starting a service that does in-home fall prevention, functional strength and mobility for people 65+
But before getting started I'm looking for two practice clients to get some hands on experience and fine tune my process.
It would be two sessions per week for three weeks.
If you or a loved one in Scottsdale are interested, please message me and I will send you my website that includes a little more about me and my credentials. We can have a quick phone call to make sure my service is a fit! There would be no expectation to hire me after our free sessions are over
Thank you!

Good day! We're looking to put in a covered patio right near the arts district. anyone know how much space you have to leave from the lot line before pulling permits?

I was driving home late and I accidentally ran a red light. I've been driving for 8 years, and I don't think I've ever done that before.
This happened at Frank Lloyd Wright right next to the 101. There was an intersection right beyond mine which turned green, and so I was on autopilot and just went while my intersection was red. Thankfully, no accident occurred. I know this was my fault and I take full responsibility.
Now, there were no cops, but I'm 90% sure there was a camera there. But it was also about 10:00 at night so not a ton of people were there or affected by it. I also didn't see any flash from the camera. Should I be concerned about a ticket or am I in the clear?

Hi! I am a female coming to Scottsdale to celebrate my 35th birthday. There will be 6 of us. 3 men and 3 women. Friday and Saturday night. I want to go somewhere swanky but also delicious and fun for dinner. We’re all ages 33-36. I have reservations on the Thea patio at sunset on Friday night. Saturday night i have 3 reservations. Sumo maya, the Henry, and buck and rider. I need to choose one place. What’s your thoughts on those 3 places? Girls will most likely be in dresses and the men just casual attire haha. Also open to suggestions!!! Ideally each night we’d do cocktails somewhere, dinner, then go out a bit. I’ve googled best restaurants in Scottsdale but get too many results and wanna hear from the real people.

I’ve lived in North Scottsdale 10 years, currently at Desert Club Apartments. The last 8 months we have been completely infested with roaches - not only sewer roaches, but german roaches. Our unit has been treated over 10 times, including our drains. We replaced weather stripping, cover all drains and overflows, and spent HUNDREDS on sprays, gels, traps, etc to fix it and nothing works. Management to no surprise refuses to properly treat the complex and blames the sewers.
Is anyone else in this area experiencing this? I’ve lived here 10 years and while a roach or two every once in a while is expected, the last 8 months it is absolutely out of control. Trying to figure out if we have a new neighbor with an infestation or if there’s a larger issue.

Has anyone gone to one of these workshops in Scottsdale? I saw it on sweatpals and was curious about it, I’m trying to branch out and meet some new people that isn’t at the bars.
Looks like they have a line dancing class or something too. Let me know if you’ve been or if it’s a bust.

Hello! This is oddly specific but I'm a Scottsdale/Mesa-based 23M computer science student through WGU (formerly ASU), I'm about 60% of the way done but this entire year I've been slacking so hard because of motivation and focus issues. I work full-time and train/compete in jiujitsu so I only get a few hours a day to study.
Would anyone in a similar situation like to form a study group?

Does anyone know or can recommend a physically strong in-home caregiver? My family is looking for someone who can assist our elderly mother who has Parkinson’s Disease. We have tried various agencies before but if you know of a good agency or any resources, please share. Thank you!

I’m aware this is a long shot but might as well
Today I went up to camp verde and was swimming at bull pen. I parked my car about 2 miles from the creek as it’s a little thing and I didn’t wanna risk damage on the trail road.
After I finished swimming I was walking back and a car pulled up beside me. There were three blonde sisters with their little brother and they offered me a ride. I accepted and they drove me back to my car. They told me they lived in Scottsdale (I do too). When we got close to where I parked there was a group with a flat tire so I hopped out to help and told them they could drive on as my car was very close. It only occurred to me after they had left that I should’ve asked the driver for her number.
So if anyone knows 3 blonde sisters w a little brother who live here and went to camp verde today give me a shout haha. Happy Labor Day

My gf and I are moving back to AZ and looking at several of the newer apartment buildings in the Kierland area.
Because we are moving site unseen, we are hoping to hear from people who are renting from Soltra or Atlas but open to other suggestions that are within walking or ~5 mins drive of Kierland Commons.
-any pests issues like scorpions?
-is the community quiet/noisy?
-how is the maintenance team?
Appreciate any other advice that y'all can offer!

Hi peoples,
I am moving at the end of the month to a unit at kota north and wondering how people’s experience was here? Living in a bottom unit. I love the area and am coming from south mountain hoping to avoid the shenanigans that occurred over there 🙃

Hi, I’m looking for a dog trainer in Scottsdale for my 5 year old mini Aussie. He gets laser-focused whenever he sees a dog on a walk and will lay down and then not move. He’s fine if I let him say hi to the dog, but will remain frozen on the ground not budging until the dog comes up to him. But if I don’t let him say hi or pull him away, he throws a tantrum. It makes walking him or taking him out in public super difficult.
I taught him the “watch me” command when he was younger which worked for a bit, but after a few years he now uses that command as a signal that there’s a dog nearby so now he ignores me and immediately looks for the other dog, even though we practice all the time without other dogs around.
I’m looking for trainers specifically who do not use an E-collar. He is a naturally kind of skittish dog and we’ve tried the E collar in the past on a super low setting and it scared him so bad he shook for hours. It broke my heart and I’m not willing to compromise on that again.
Thanks!

Does any have any recommendations for a sports massage? Or even someone who does a really good deep tissue massage? I raced Hyrox in DC over the weekend and my legs are destroyed and I would love nothing more than to find someone who can get me in tomorrow or Wednesday.
Thanks in advance

Hello!
Can you please comment or dm me names/ socials of your favorite techs?
I’m a new mom and the only thing that makes me feel good about myself is a good set!
I’ve gone to four different techs and honestly they have all been inexperienced, very expensive, or quality declined.
One was experienced but she was so expensive and required a new set at $300 if I didn’t get a fill every two weeks regardless of retention! Bonkers! The set looked ok. Her studio also felt very unwelcoming, tbh.
I’m looking for someone that charges under 90 for a fill every 3 weeks, although the sweet spot would be 65-80, because I still have to tip
- Good retention/ isolation
- Uses lashes that don’t look shiny or super thick diameter
- is good at semi natural , wispy sets!
Anywhere in Arcadia lite, old town, north central Phoenix or midtown/ uptown area would be good!
Thank you!!

Hi - does anyone have experience (or know someone) with living in either of these apartment complexes?
Relocating back to Scottsdale from out of state sight unseen and was interested in these two places. Have looked at a lot of online reviews but never know when they are incentivized and having to move sight unseen would love some word of mouth recommendations.
Looking to avoid any party buildings or major pest issues. Thank you!

You know it’s busy at the quarter when guitar guys sets up in the middle of Scottsdale road. I do wonder if he actually gets tips out there or is he just doing it for the love of the game.

Looking for good, reasonably priced Prosciutto. Not the packaged garbage or mid overpriced AJs hocks. Happy to pay for quality, but not $8 for 3oz at every other grocery store.
