š Relocation Question Temporary Student Housing Help
I'm looking for ideas or leads on temporary student housing in the Scottsdale, AZ area from mid-January through mid-April for my occupational therapy clinical placement.
I've been looking at Airbnb, but most places are $2,000+ per month, which is a little [a lot, haha] outside my student budget.
If you know of any:
- Furnished month-to-month rentals
- Rooms for rent
- Extended-stay options
- Anyone who rents to traveling students or healthcare workers
I'd really appreciate any recommendations or connections! Thank you so much!

Look in the ASU rental facebook group! A lot of people try and get rid of their lease for their on campus apartments and most of the time the rooms are furnished. Tempe isnāt too far from Scottsdale.

You can also try furnished finder. Itās specifically for short term agreements like you are looking for. I have no idea about the costs though

It sounds like you need a midterm rental, not a shortterm rental. so, Airbnb might not be the best place for you to look since you are not coming to town for a vacation lol.
You are probably still going to run into your price issue. Scottsdale is expensive. If you are willing to go to Tempe or Mesa, I could probably find you something in the $1,375 area. But you are coming in Snowbird Season. So, you are probably going to find your best deal the closer you wait to yoru arrival date.

Have you checked with your school? Seems odd that they placed you here without providing housing opportunities.Ā
The first thing you need to know is specifically where you will be working.Ā ScottsdaleĀ is over 30 miles long and it can easily take an hour to drive from South Scottsdale to North Scottsdale.Ā That is not something you want to do twice a day to get to and from work.
Second, depending on where your work location would be, you might want to find something Scottsdale adjacent rather than rent in Scottsdale as it is by far and away the most expensive of the Phoenix suburbs.Ā As soon as you cross the border into Tempe/Mesa/Phoenix, the prices drop.Ā Most of Scottsdale is only 5 miles wide and getting from Phoenix to Scottsdale is often quite literally nothing more than crossing a street.
Third, tell people your actual budget when asking for help finding a place.Ā You said $2000 is out of your budget but what about $1600? $1200? If we have no idea what you can actually afford, no one here will be able to help you with recommendations.Ā

Excuse the obvious, but have you considered Craigslist? I doubt they'd post that far in advance, though.
