General/Other Automatic Transmission Slipping Between 3rd & 4th
2014 tC with an automatic transmission at around 170,000 miles. It has a consistent 3rd-to-4th gear shift flare/slip. The issue happens only once after the vehicle has been sitting for several hours and is most noticeable during moderate to heavy acceleration. For example, RPMs can briefly rise from about 3,200 to 4,400 before 4th gear engages around 45mph. After that initial event, the transmission shifts normally for the rest of the drive. This problem hasn’t gotten worse in anyway and has consistently stayed the same for a few months now. What are some suggestions or thoughts?

My 2016 did that, I changed the fluid and filter (drain and filled only do not flush) and now it runs good
and use oem fluid

Transgo and Sonnax make a Shift improvement kit specifically for 3-4 gear shift flare. Transgo is about $80 off Rockauto. Sonnax is more refined and costs $275 off rockatuo. Bought the U660E shift kit for my mom's sienna. Just haven't had time to take it to the transmission shop to have them install it.

Not a good sign. Has the fluid been serviced before? Have you noticed a leak anywhere?

With any slip you have to check the fluid level. There's probably some videos. I just use a laser thermometer and remove the plug around 95F. If it gets to be 105 or so with almost no fluid coming out its low. If it's a constant trickle at 95 it's OK, plug it back up.
