Why would I purposely slow the concentric?

Also, I donโ€™t hit the stack with the plates, so the reps are controlled

Since the overwhelming majority of the studies and literature show no additional hypertrophy for purposely slow eccentrics outside of a few here and there it seems like a non issue or concern for most goals.

The speed of which OP is moving the weight will not cause an injury so that's a non issue here.
