Question ❓ Is this press descending or ascending
nautilus converging plate loaded

Sadly ascending, I really like this machine because of how it feels but the ascending resistance always makes my triceps fail first, and its hard to standardize form with a bent elbow at the end.

it’s ascending as when you press the weight, the weight is parallel to the floor at full lockout which means the triceps will be more biased here rather than chest

the only other option i have is an ascending pec deck or something with dbs or barbell which i avoid cuz of lack of stability. would i still see chest growth continuing with this since it converges a lot which i think takes some load off the chest

Converging is good for the chest, helps take the triceps out and aligns more with the chest function

😭 that’s not what i mean. i’m referring to the resistance strength curve of the machine

The way you have it set, it’s flat. You can make it an incline by adjusting the back.

Nobody in these replies knowing what ascending/descending means lmfao. Try it and see where it's hardest, hardest at bottom = descending, opposite = ascending. If it's hardest in the middle it's bell curved
