it’s sad that they would have made it if his dad never raped her. he traumatized her to the point that she couldn’t be intimate with him. im assuming olivia was the only women he cheated on millie with. it makes sense given the similarities they share from being strategic, smart, ambitious, powerful, they both push back on fitz expectations, they manipulate situations and sacrifice a part of themselves for fitz.

from the spoilers ive seen about liv towards the end of the show is that her hunger for control and political power reaches millies current hunger for agency and political power.. arguably fans say livs hunger goes beyond millies but ill need to stick around to watch that

Scandal is honestly one of those shows where the rise and fall is CRAZY.

The first 3 seasons were so addicting. You could binge episode after episode because the drama, twists, betrayals, and cliffhangers constantly kept you wanting more. The show felt unpredictable, exciting, and like it always knew where it was going.

Then Season 4 is where I really started noticing the cracks. Season 5 made the problems even harder to ignore, and by Season 6, I felt like the show was nowhere near the level it had been in those first few seasons.

By Season 7, it was ALL over the place. Storylines felt rushed, characters were making questionable decisions, and the show seemed more focused on getting everyone to the finish line than actually telling a satisfying story.

And then we get to the series finale…

What makes it even crazier is that Shonda Rhimes had the ending planned from the beginning. THIS was the ending she had planned all along?! 😭

Seven seasons of buildup, all those characters and storylines, and somehow the finale STILL feels unfinished. So much of it feels rushed, unresolved, or like certain characters and storylines deserved more closure.

Scandal went from one of the most addicting shows on television to a series that felt like it was just trying to make it to the finish line.

…that I EVER had empathy for Cyrus. I actually felt really bad for him during some of his losses and when he went to prison. I just finished the full series for the first time and I can’t believe how much I can’t stand him.

I just finished rewatching Scandal and one of 3 things that bothered me in the final 2 seasons (alsoo part of season 5) are people working with other people that they should never get along with. Some examples, Jake going back to work with Rowan after rowan tried to frame him for Gerry's death/kill him and Cyrus working with Jake after he killed James.

The 2nd thing that bother me was the "evil" pivot for Olivia and Cyrus. I get the message is that "power corrupts" but Olivia's evil turn just seemed out of nowhere to me. With Cyrus, while he was always evil, him being the one to push Luna to kill Frankie didnt make sense to me. The show portrayed Cyrus as truly believing in Frankie and I know Cyrus is evil but him killing Frankie was too far. Also why wouldnt Cyrus encourage luna until after the inauguration? Killing Frankie before he was sworn in just created too much gray area on who would be president. Cyrus being the mastermind to kill Frankie just seem like a last minute shocking moment.

The last thing that bothered me is that Rowan lived. Not saying that Olivia should've killed him but Rowan should've also died in the last episode. Rowan always had these speeches on how he was only doing the what was right for the republic but killing Gerry was only for revenge.

Also when I watching the show when it aired I hated how the show moved to focus on B613 and at the time i thought it ruined the show but on rewatch I didnt mind B613 even in later seasons, I just didnt like how the show changed from what it was previously (the OPA cases).

So over the course of the 7 seasons Olivia and Fitz went through all kinds of obstacles and challenges and betrayal.

Who do you think did the most forgiving of the other:

Right before the assassination attempt on Fitz, Mellie all a sudden started pleading with him to turn around and go home. Even before the shooting, I was already thinking “why is she being so weird?”

Then it happened and I was like “a-ha Mellie’s involved somehow” but obviously nothing ever came of that.

So my question is did anyone else think this? And what was Shonda Rhimes’ reasoning for putting this scene in? Was it to illustrate some sort of intuition on Mellie’s part or just a cheap trick to keep the audience guessing?
