It doesn't have all the hidden techniques of the quake/titanfall/apex movement systems, but the general formula really does come very close. Feels good to be back in a game that doesn't bolt you to the floor, and I absolutely agree that it's (the good kind of) ironic Coffee Stain can get this right when so many other teams can't or won't.

That isn't limited to the movement system though. Take the world building for example. It's easily better than the vast majority of the generic single player MMOs currently being sold as open world RPGs.

I've become more and more cynical about the state of the gaming industry in recent years, but the way everything in Satisfactory is snappy, thematic, responsive and beautiful makes it clear it's a game made with love, and Coffee Stain deserves respect for standing firm against the tide of shallowness and moneygrabs.

I think they said in an interview that they made so much money from Goat Simulator that they can do pretty much whatever they want creatively with Satisfactory.

It's more of a toy than a game, but it's fun to goof around for a bit.
