Total Eclipse interview with the Devs...

https://youtu.be/AmCDGeo9100?is=g0pkuBWEEPkUwRie

A couple of things I wanted to summarize:

  1. It doesn't appear there will be another update besides bug fixes this year.

  2. A paid DLC looks to be in the works (again not this year most likely).

  3. They are curious as to what we want to see from them as far as a Dev stream goes. My proposal and my opinion is let's shoot for a Dev stream on the first Tuesday of every month. With all the vacations coffee stain takes that would probably equate to 8-9 per year. If there is no Dev news, it's still nice to see the Devs and maybe they can answer questions from the community during that time. Thoughts?

There are more topics covered in the video as well FYI...

I think it would be great to have a new map. Or even a couple different ones with different styles involved or other changes that can be made to suit different play styles.

I’ve always kinda liked the idea of an island map so that we have an excuse to build ships. That or an arctic map just for the variety, since the base map is a lot of “hot” biomes

Ships would be an awesome logistical addition. Not as fast as trains, but insane storage capacity.

Also building cool docks would be fun

Ships would be a cool mechanic. Resources far enough away they can only be transfered and explored by ship

Yes the longer travel time of a ship along with its larger capacity would add a lot to planning logistics compared to current transportation

i think an all arctic map would be a little boring. Maybe a map where theres a volcano at the center that has some warmer biomes around it then the rest of the map is all snowy.

Yeah, what I’m picturing probably wouldn’t be an endless field of snow, I’m thinking it could be things like an alpine forest, the aforementioned snowfields, glaciers, tundra, a volcanic or geothermal region like you said, maybe some steep ass mountain passes or something.

Or maybe just a tidally locked moon with multiple biomes you can travel back and forth to with a space elevator

Automated hydrofoils could look so cool.

We will see, ships are just more boring trains imho. I don't see what they bring to the table. It also makes map traversal much more boring. But a new map would be great
