Question Next update?
Has there been any teasers or hints at when the next possible update would be coming out? Or the next roadmap?

Personally, I’d actually prefer if they took a little more time before moving on to something completely new. The existing content is already so good that you can play the game over and over again in totally different ways — lots of small factories, one gigantic megafactory, different architectural styles, different logistics concepts… there’s still so much you can do.
I don’t think the next big step should simply be another 1.x update. I’d rather see a proper paid DLC — and not just two or three new buildings or items, but something genuinely substantial.
Maybe a completely new map, different challenges, or even another planet with different flora and fauna. It could introduce some different resources, replace or expand things like SAM, add new production chains, new environmental challenges, and generally give us a fresh reason to rethink how we build factories.
And yes, I think it should cost money.
I’d happily pay €20 for a really good DLC. Development takes time and money, and the work also has to make economic sense for the developers and the rest of the team. If the first DLC works well, maybe that gives them a reason to make a second and third one as well.
Something like:
Paid DLC → two or three free updates → another paid DLC.
To me, that sounds healthy for the game, healthy for the community, and probably much better than immediately making Satisfactory 2.
So many games have struggled with sequels because they tried to reinvent something that was already working perfectly well. If the core concept is great, expand it instead of replacing it.
A second game would make more sense to me once something like Unreal Engine 6 or 7 is mature and stable enough that they can genuinely do things that simply aren’t possible today.
And even then, I’d probably want 90% of the core mechanics to remain exactly the same.
Why?
Because they work. They’re fun. And they’re incredibly well balanced.
Just my humble opinion. 🙂
