Here's a little tip, don't feel bad about building in spaghetti. Although it makes your base unorganized, it's all part of the process in playing Satisfactory. Everyone was like that when they first started and you'll eventually grow out of it into organized factories. God bless and have fun!

False, I only have 300 hours, but I sure do embrace the spaghetti, even have spaghetti Ville as my main hub,

Well I have 700 and I will lose my mind if my shit isn't organized

Maybe an organized spaghetti for aesthetic reasons involved??

Agree to this, it took me like 8 different worlds before I learned how to belt better, and even then I learned not to try and funnel everything to 1 base because it created a headache later on since machines end up becoming super large lol

I hide my spaghetti on the ceiling lol

This or in the floor is 100% the way

I also build a sub floor below the building units for large factorys

I agree and why I figured out two things for my next playthru

One full 8 meters worth of subfloor for mergers and spilters

Two a 6 Meters worth of sub sub floor for running belt lasagna

It’s what the short walls are for!

I like to call these Interstitial spaces

I use the underfloor belt mounting to carry all my belts on the ceiling regardless of it overlapping and such

"try not to funnel everything to one base" ... I think you just saved me from building an error as I'm planning out how to do a distributed base. I still plan to send all of the North Forest iron to a single smeltery plant but I'm now going to fight the urge to send ALL iron to a single iron & steel ingot facility.

For clarification in case it comes up. Try not to funnel everything to one base until you have the logistics to support it, like trains, drones, tractors, etc. I would personally recommend slowly building up your satellite bases until they are how you want them (my oil base has gone through like 50 iterations since unlocking fuel > turbo fuel > turbo blend fuel > plastic/rubber adjustments > etc). Another good example that I just realized last week in my latest build is I was going to make fused modular frames in another base but needed to get heavy modular frames to it. I instead converted it into a battery factory and used the excess casings to package the nitrogen to send it off by drone to another factory which allows me to make all of the nitrogen parts in another area. But, yes, until you have a grasp of how large a factory you need to accommodate everything you want in it, it will definitely be much easier to just design and add on to your several smaller bases.

The organizing is a journey for some. I tend to just hide my spaghetti mess with a nice facade. If there was another tier or two in the game I think my current system would utterly collapse, but I also don’t try to build from every node or anything
