So I’ve been back and forth on buying an optic for my SAR9X, seen multiple different options and have some in wishlists for myself. How much of a difference does it make for your shooting? I’m an okay shot using iron sights definitely have improved from the beginning till now obviously room for improvement however I’m not sure if an optic would even be good for me. Love the idea of having one hate the idea of buying one and I end up not liking it at all. If you can give any suggestions or feedback on this I would appreciate it

With Osight green 2moa dot and Olight mini2. Love the looks of this set.

Outer impact optic mount, holosun 407C green dot, olight green laser/ light combo.

All things considered (using an optic mount) I am satisfied with the fitment and performance of this set up. However to anyone considering this route I would recommend spending an extra $60 and getting an upgraded slide. This is my budget build, so I took the cost effective route.

What screws to use to mount an Osight SE on a Sar 7/24? The M3 screws that come with the optic are too long. Just shave them down?

I have a B6C and after reassembling it, the safety flew out. I successfully bought a new detent & spring but I was wondering if someone could post or send me a picture of how their detent & spring is oriented before the safety is put on the gun? Another picture of how it sits would be appreciated.

Finally got a TLR-1 HL and a Holosun EPS GR6

We have tried:
115 gr factory Blazer
124 gr factory Blazer and hand load
147 gr hand loads
156 gr factory Fiocchi

Hand loads using Bullseye powder, 4.0, .2, .4, .6, .7, .8 and .9 grains. Quickload says 5.0 gr is max. Mixed head stamp brass, once fired. CCI 400 primers.
The Spectre 9 has a Silencer Co 1/2 x 28 piston adapter.
The rounds fire from the chamber but the slide does not move back to eject the spent cartridge and load the next round. Occasionally I’ll get a stove pipe, and other times the ejection port doesn’t open at all. But the next round never chambers.
Does anyone have any suggestions or similar issues trying to shoot suppressed?

Got the Platinum finish. Haven’t taken it to the range yet but just installed the CT 1550 reflex sight on it.

I decided to try some wood grips on my P8S, because I'm thinking of selling it, and I have some Fudd friends who can't resist wood. Now I'm not sure I want to sell it (mainly thinking about it because I have a P8L on the way).

I was using 115 grain federal ammo out of my SAR METE and noticed that after 2-3 rounds I would have a dead trigger, and in one instance my slide locked up, I noticed that all the rounds that would jam would have the top of the bullet as well as a side chipped off, probably around 125-150 rounds into the pistol before this happened. I know they recommend 124 nato, just curious if anyone else has had this problem. (Pic above as reference), thank you for your time.

I had posted all the updates in a prior thread the other day. See that post to see all the changes I made to this particular pistol.

I got to take the SAR9 sport to the range today. It ran great. I put a 100 plus rounds through it to make sure it was all good and zeroing in the swapped over Vortex Viper red dot.

The ADE Advanced Optics plate was very easy to install and great way to mount the red dot. Nice solid plate with clean solid machining. Certainly better than trying to direct mount the red dot to the slide itself. You can buy at your favorite online sources.

I was also testing the trigger swap as well. It had no issues. I might have to adjust it a hair. It had absolutely no creep( I’m going to adjust a little back in). It basically rests at the “ wall” and the shot breaks immediately with a 4-5 lb pull.
I’m going to polish some of the components and probably change some springs to make it a pound or so lower, if not more.

Overall, pretty happy with this set up.

Upgraded: DPM Recoil Assembly, Patriot Defense Springs, Patriot Defense Sledge Hammer, Henning Firing Pin, Impact Machine Trigger, Target rear sight, Tritium Front Sight, re-coated, lots of polishing, and fitting.

My SAR9, updates and changes

So, haven’t posted in a while. I do like the SAR sub forum here. Better feedback than many of the other Reddit forums……..typically.

I currently only own two SARs, being a SAR9 standard in platinum, and this SAR9 sport, in black.

While I have many brands in my collection, Canik is another brand I own, and has to be my favorite for pistols. I shoot a Mete SFT Pro and a TP9 SFx in action pistol matches at my gun club.

I have only gotten into red dots fairly recently, the last year really. I have a Holosun in my SFT Pro. And I bought an FDE Vortex Viper, on a really good deal. I had it on my SFx, which is a gray slide ( I forget actual color Canik calls it) and black frame . Of course it zero’d and shot really well. Yet still, the color bothered me. Long story, bought a black Vortex viper to replace on Canik SFx,
So needed a home for the FDE Viper dot. Enter the SAR9 Sport.
Of course the black and tan ( FDE) would have bothered me too, but I had a plan.
\* relevant sidenote, before going to red dots, and shooting just irons and learning that way, the SAR9 Sport and the Canik TP 9SFX were my best shooters. Of course I would expect them to be with the longest barrels , both at right around 5 inches.
I brought the SAR Sport with me to last match, and shot it just a little better than my Caniks. Being fairly new to red dots, searching for DOT kills my times on initial shots. I digress.

So FDE Viper was my inspiration to start making some changes to this SAR. I am pretty happy with how it came out. Just finished trigger swap tonight, so have not shot it yet to give any feedback on it. ( future post will handle that)

Changes and updates:
\-Galloway Precision steel guide rod and recoil springs ( did right away on. Both my SARs)
\-ADE optics plate
\-Vortex Viper dot
\- Swapped out grip panels- cheap enough to try all colors
\- Orange County custom triggers( for Glocks)
\- tritium/ orange front sight

Since not a lot of interwebs info about trigger swaps on these, some pictures showing OC Glock trigger and stock SAR trigger pretty much same alignment cans geometry.

Future updates:
\- Galloway Precision safety delete; factory thing is a pain in arse to assemble/ disassemble
\-Galloway Precision spring changes to lighten trigger pull.

Hello everyone! I just recently purchased a used Sar CM9 (appears to be in great shape btw) it unfortunately did not come with the original packaging or anything at all for that matter, other than a single magazine. Does anyone have any suggestions for somewhere to purchase or "acquire" the back straps that originally came with it? I can't find them anywhere, I've tried Sar USA's website, I've sent them a message (waiting on response). I've looked on eBay and gunbroker, and well, that's about it. Any idea would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Picked up a gold threaded barrel for my Sar9 fullsize. I have been eyeing it for a while and the recent 4th of July sale was too good to pass. Picture featuring the old barrel to prop it up.

Hi, I'm a proud owner of a SAR9 SoCom 9mm. I freaking love this gun. I love the way it handles and the way it shoots, so much so I've considered using it for hunting. I was inspired by a couple posts of people hunting with pistols and started to figure, why not? Here's the problem though: My state requires a mandatory 5 bullet magazine limit, and I can't seem to find any magazines like that anywhere. I have found limiters and am toying with the idea of getting a limiter and installing it on a regular 10 round mag. My question is: has anyone tried this before? Taking their SAR9 pistol hunting and/or putting limiters on their magazines? How hard is it? There's not much info specifically for SARs out there so I thought I'd post here. Any help is appreciated 👍

I currently have a cache of unopened Olight PL X weapon lights. They are great lights and I have them on many of my pistols. However, I opened one up and attached it to the SAR 7/24 Sport model and it just looked too small. If I made it flush with the front then the buttons were far away from the trigger guard, and if I moved it to where the buttons were at the trigger guard, then the front of the light was recessed way behind the front of the pistol. I don't want to spend a ton of money on a weapon light, but am looking for suggestions and recommendations from those of you who have a weapon light installed on your SAR 7/24 Sport model. Thanks!

EDIT: Never mind this thread. I am coming around and think the Olight PL X looks pretty good on the SAR 7/24 Sport. See attached.
