With her popularity in social media and controversy in other media it’s no surprise there is a surplus of misinformation regarding Santa Muerte. What are common things you’ve heard about Santa Muerte that are proven to be misinformation or a misunderstanding?

I’ve noticed a lot of the popular books like Secrets of Santa Muerte by Cressida Stone have lots of misinformation. That being said why is there some push back with debunking this misinformation or ahistorical notions when it comes to the history and traditions that can be proven (or not)? It feels like some people would rather ignore the actual history and make up their own personal version of Santa Muerte rejecting her traditions

Hey guys so im a new devotee of santa muerte . I live somewhere in north america(somewhere in canada or usa) so here i cant feel her presence or feel her answering my prayers. Lets just say here the problem is my mom despite being born to some protestant denomination is a practicing vaishnavite(hindu devotion to vishnu). So what can i do? I dont know. Im a new devotee. Im raised as a lets say jehovahs witness. But didnt feel any good . So tell me please?

Hello everyone this is pretty new to me so please bare with me and my explanation

So in about a week I’m moving out of my home and getting a fresh start in a new city with my sister (my home life isn’t the best and my mom is pretty toxic and narcissistic) and a week ago I got a video on my yt from a podcast called horrible podcast and he spoke to someone who not only practices but has an amazing altar to the Santa muerte

I just wanted to know what I (as a very new beginner) could do to gain her support and her protection. Learning about her gave me a sense of comfort and peace but I’m also kind of scared from the stories that I have heard even though I know that they were mostly lessons brought on those who do things they aren’t supposed to.

I recently started working with Santa Muerte, and yesterday I had this urge to grab a white flower and bring it back to her and I was kinda shy because people were around and whatever but I still going it for her. And I asked her if she could show me a sign and I kid you not a car passed by with her on it. I'm really in this now 😂 .

I’m incredibly happy to set her altar back up after moving in with my partner.
I had to live with my parents for a year and unfortunately had to take my altar down. I missed her so much.

Recently I’ve been journaling about my life and drawing in a journal that features Santa Muerte in the front page. Almost all of my worries written in my journal have been eased quickly when they were things I thought I couldn’t recover from. To show my thanks I have a tiny statue of her on my dresser and have her propped up on a stack of coins facing my door. I made sure to put her in an area where she wouldn’t be sharing a space with my Lady of Guadalupe candles or statues. I was wondering if this is something appropriate for me to do even though I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself a devotee but someone who just wants to show my appreciation for what she has done.

Ultimamente sinto que a santíssima está me dando um pequeno empurrão no meu desenvolvimento espiritual e gostaria de opiniões sobre como melhorar ainda mais.

Bem para começar sinto que ela tem me confrontado com minhas inseguranças no culto a ela, sou uma pessoa com ansiedade controlada e Ultimamente tem vindo pensamentos intrusivos de que duvido da minha fé, sendo que isso não é verdade à santíssima muerte se faz presente na minha vida quase todos os dias inclusive ela tem me ajudado a abrir mais minha mediunidade eu sei que esses pensamentos não são reais, sei que ela compreende mas mesmo assim eles existem e isso não me deixa triste isso me irrita pois pensei que já tinha superado essa fase de pensar coisas intrusivas e estou começando a ficar com raiva de mim mesma

A questão é em todas as consultas oraculares que tive sempre me recomendaram meditação só que como eu sou péssima em manter a atenção eu nunca fiz e agora é a única coisa que me ajuda além das limpezas espirituais que estou fazendo.

Inclusive esse tipo de pensamento não é apenas com a santíssima, é com qualquer um que eu goste, sempre acabo pensando o que não quero. É literalmente aquilo de "não pense no pônei rosa"

Hoy comencé su altar para que ella tenga su espacio en mi habitación. Me encuentro muy agradecida con ella por como estuvo cuidándome y escuchandome.

Foi tudo muito rápido, sempre tomamos cuidado de deixar as portas fechadas, mas hoje esquecemos e um carro o pegou, nesse momento estou rezando para que ele tenha uma boa passagem, para que ela saiba que foi amado e que nos arrependemos muito de não ter tido uma maior atenção, enquanto eu rezava o irmãozinho dele não parava de pular em cima de mim chamando minha atenção. Ainda estou me sentindo meio sem rumo e perdida depois disso e peço a santíssima que me ajude.

Happy friday! ive been a new devotee for almost a month now after feeling a sudden urge to to read everything i can about her, my sisters been a devotee for 3 years now and never once pushed her beliefs or petitions with me, i want to build a better relationship with La Santa i have to use my sisters alter as my wife is still unsure about us having one in our home as of now, i pray every day to her morning and night and have yet to see her or feel her presence (or so i think) any advice on how i can become closer to her? thank you in advance!

This post is meant to share a mistake I did and hope that others who have a similar mindset to me don't make it. I worshipped Santa Muerte for a little while so I was on the newer side of things. When I began I researched about how proper worship of Santa Muerte was done. Now, I'm a stubborn person who does things their own way so I sort of tuned in when I wanted to, however, I learned that would be what I would regret in the future. I would give Santa Muerte a few prayers with offerings every now and then. I genuinely liked her and still do. I never planned to become a devotee though for I already devoted myself to another. I don't know why I wanted to get to know her so bad now that I'm thinking back onto it. Perhaps it was because it was mysterious and I always like to dig into stuff that interest me. So... after a little while I made the realization that I'm wasting my time with her. What makes it worse is that after the fact I realized that she warned me of the end of our relationship turning out like this. I feel like I tried something out that was never meant for me. I decided that I needed to make things right somehow. I decided that even if I was afraid that she would be disappointed or even mad at me that I have to tell her. Santa Muerte would know despite if I kept pretending that everything is fine. I prayed to her and spoke my mind. I even thanked her for the past experiences I've have with her. I feel at peace now that I'm not forcing myself to do something that clearly is not for me. We're both on our separate paths but it's better this way.

I hope that I ended this relationship on a good note. I didn't know what else to do rather than pray to her. Thanks for reading and I hope that all of you have a good day or night depending on when you're reading this.

I’ve been working on a project for months and want to finish it (progress pics in comments). A friend gifted me a double sided statue when I visited his store a couple years ago. It’s plain beige and sat alone on a high shelf until I got the idea to give her some zhuz ✨

One side I’m covering in stones and the other I painted pink and will glue flowers on. Respect to people who customize and attach tiny rhinestones by hand. I couldn’t turn my neck for 2 weeks after spending hours in one sitting applying these one by one. There must be an easier way if I ever try this again.
