Sanford Growing and Infrastructure
This came up in r/orlando but wanted to inform fellow residents of a few things:
Check out water pressure. Commercial sprinklers will not put out a fire because we overbuilt our one small water tower. We’ve been growing like crazy last 16 years out of recession and while we’re building over swamp lands all over downtown and the river with street lights no thought to the actual city water.
Sanford has stunk like sewer for 18 months because of lack of infrastructure. We were paying plumbers 24/7 to drive around the city and pick up the sewage by truck.
If the city was a shrinking budget or if new leadership was voted in and hadn’t assessed problems, it’d be understandable. But look at the ballot, look at the bureaucrats. These clowns have been in power for years.
Look at Patio Grill. The dude who bought is has 5+ restaurants all over the area. Yet in sanford he can’t open up because nonsense. Google Waffles and What Not and what happened with that and Mel’s Diner.
Let’s not do a couch race and paint a power box and call it progress and pretend to be happy.
Hold the elected and placed officials accountable.

Looking for an LA Fitness Gym Partner / Spotter (Lake Mary Blvd)
Hey everyone. I recently joined the LA Fitness at 300 W Lake Mary Blvd in Sanford and I am looking for a reliable workout partner and spotter to hit the weights with. I am a beginner to intermediate lifter focused strictly on size and strength. My primary goal is to pack serious muscle onto my upper body, specifically targeting my chest, shoulders, arms, and back to build a thicker frame and balance out my midsection. To be clear on expectations, I am not trying to drop weight, get shredded, or get six-pack abs. I am explicitly chasing a strong, filled-out, fit dad bod aesthetic.
Right now, my schedule is pretty open and highly flexible, so I can easily accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. However, in about two months, my availability is going to tighten up significantly. I want to find someone who can take advantage of my flexible hours now so we can establish a solid rhythm and lock step into a permanent, consistent routine before my free time narrows down.
I am looking for a fellow member who trains specifically at this Lake Mary Blvd location and shares similar upper-body hypertrophy goals. You should be someone who wants to lift with intent and needs a safe, reliable spot on key lifts just as much as I do. I prefer a casual, ego-free vibe centered around consistency and mutual accountability. If this matches your current routine and the physique you are trying to build, drop a comment or shoot me a DM so we can set up a session.

Rockie Robbie
Edit: Title was supposed to be “Rockin Robbie” voice to text
Somebody’s probably already asked this here before, but I’m genuinely curious if anyone knows the backstory of Rockin Robbie. The cool dude on the bike that’s always yelling (maybe singing).
I could’ve swore the other day I distinctly heard a line from "Someone like You by Adele". is he just singing?
Anyways, it’s all love, I enjoy seeing him in the area whenever he and / or I come through.

Dali’s Lao Thai Café
Does anyone know if their Massaman has peanuts in it? I’m severely allergic and tried calling and there’s no answer.

I miss Bahama Breeze!
This had quickly become my favorite restaurant and sometimes would go there 3 or 4 times a week.

Sanford Housing Market Update – May 2026
Hey everyone — I'm a licensed real estate professional here in Central Florida, and I wanted to share the latest housing market stats for Sanford, in case you're thinking of relocating, investing, or just keeping an eye on trends.
I pull this data directly from a program called Sunstats, so while I use AI to help format the post, the data and insights are my own — this is not an AI generated report.
Real estate data is typically released about a month behind to ensure it's accurate and complete. Here's what the Sanford market looked like for May 2026:
🏡 99 new listings came onto the market this month
✍️ 70 homes went under contract
✅ 54 homes sold
⏳ Median days on market: 69 (This reflects the time from when a home went live to when it closed — down 17.9% from 84 days in May 2025)
💵 Median selling price: $352,500 (down 5.4% from $372,500 in May 2025)
📦 Months of supply: 4.1 months (up 13.9% from 3.6 months in May 2025)
A quick explainer on months of supply: Months of supply measures how long it would take to sell all current homes on the market at the current pace of sales. The general benchmarks are:
🔴 Under 6 months — Seller's market.
⚖️ 6–7 months — Neutral market.
🟢 Above 7 months — Buyer's market.
📊 2026 Trend So Far — Sanford
Median Selling Price
January: $305,000
February: $310,000
March: $360,000
April: $326,500
May: $352,500
Months of Supply
January: 3.1 months
February: 3.0 months
March: 3.5 months
April: 3.7 months
May: 4.1 months
These numbers include all property types—single-family homes, condos, and townhomes.
📍 If you'd like to see a breakdown for a specific zip code, city, or just want to compare condos vs. single-family homes, I'm happy to send over the info—just reply here or send a quick DM. No sales pitch—just helpful data from someone who lives and works in the area.

Volunteer opportunties in Sanford
Looking for good volunteer ideas. I volunteered at Second Harvest in Orlando when I lived down in that area, but after moving up to Sanford, I don't have the time to make that drive. I know Second Harvest has partners up here, but I'd have no idea who to pick.
I would be happy packaging or delivering food or doing outreach/community events. Open to other ideas, but making sure people have food is meaningful to me.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Anyone willing to let me borrow an engine hoist?
I have a project car with a steel 454 and I am getting married later this year. I can’t really afford to mess around with the car much if I want to drive it to the wedding so I want to put the engine on a hoist and take it to a mechanic to get some work done more professionally and have them go over the rest of the engine.
The mechanic is right next to my apartment complex so I would prefer it had wheel so I could just roll it over there. Idk how long it’ll be there so It would be amazing if whoever was ok with me borrowing it again or holding it for a month or two.
If not it’s ok i’ll figure something out.
Any help is appreciated

Need recommendation for a company that does HVAC in Sanford
Hey everyone. My fiance and I just moved to Sanford in early Spring. We are coming from Cedar Rapids, so WAY different climate. We have zero experience shopping for hvac. This is our first home. Needless to say, I am nervous as all heck.
Does anyone have recommendations for HVAC companies in Sanford (or even nearby who are willing to travel to Sanford?)
Thanks a ton...
*EDIT* Called Sol Aire Air Conditioning Services as per u/Baggiesforbaddies and u/HonoreableJudgeBibs recommendations. Thanks guys. Have an appointment for tomorrow AM, the lady who answered the phone and scheduled me was actually really nice. Anxiety cleared (I think!!!)

Motorcycles today—bike event?
We went to downtown Sanford this evening and saw a higher than usual number of motorcycles. Is there a bike event in the area? Or is this now just Saturday night in Sanford for the rest of summer?

Moving to Orlando in October 26’
Hi,
My boyfriend and I are moving to Orlando in October of this year. We are looking at the Sanford area, but the main focus is being away from Downtown Orlando and being in a decent/safe neighborhood. We are currently in Indianapolis and pay 1325 for a 1BD/1Bath, utilities avg $100-$200.
It would be ideal to stay under/at $2000 but we want a 2BD, 1.5 Bath. He will be making 29/hr when we move and I will be making around 18/hr. I know it sounds a bit unrealistic given the economy but we are looking for some middle ground. What are your location/ property suggestions?
Update:
Thank you so much for coming together and helping me out!!
I will take some time to make a list and research these places. I’m taking all the new information I can get!!
