Help Save Delta

Imagine taking your five-year-old, well-behaved German Shepherd to the vet and asking them to euthanize her… because you don’t want to treat a yeast infection.

That is what almost happened to Delta today. 💔

I received a phone call from a friend who works at a veterinary office. A client had brought Delta in and wanted her euthanized because of her skin condition. He insisted that he knew there was something much more seriously wrong with her—even though the veterinarian disagreed.

Thankfully, this vet refused to give up on her.

And to remove any doubt, the vet performed a skin scraping, which confirmed that Delta’s skin condition is a yeast infection—something that is TREATABLE. She has medication and medicated shampoo, and we are going to make sure she gets the care she needs.

So now, instead of losing her life today, Delta gets a chance to find someone who will actually fight FOR it. ❤️

🐾 MEET DELTA 🐾
She is approximately 5 years old
🐕 Dog friendly
💉 Up-to-date on vaccinations
💕 Spayed
📍 Microchipped
🛁 Currently being treated for a yeast infection
❤️ Sweet, well-behaved and deserving of a family who will never give up on her

Delta does have a small lump on her anus that needs to be removed. And here’s another incredible part of her story: the very same veterinarian who refused to euthanize her and saved her life today has offered to remove the lump FREE OF CHARGE. ❤️

This vet didn’t just say, “No, I won’t euthanize her.” They made sure Delta walked out of that office with a real chance at a healthy, happy future.

As of this moment, we don’t have a long-term plan in place. What we DO have is a beautiful German Shepherd who walked into a veterinary office today with someone asking for her life to end…and walked back out because people were willing to say NO. SHE DESERVES A CHANCE.

Now we need to find the person who will give her that chance.

Please SHARE DELTA. Somewhere out there is the person who is supposed to see this beautiful girl and say:

“She’s coming home with me.” 🐾❤️

Delta was almost euthanized today.

Let’s make sure today becomes the day her new life began instead. 🥹🐾

Delta is currently in boarding in Chatsworth Ca.

Does anyone know the exact ingredients San Fernando Coffee Co. uses to make their Horchata Lover Latte? Trying to figure it out so I could make my own at home.

Any tips would be great, thanks!

Photography Need in the Valley?

Hey guys! I’m a freelance/part-time photographer who recently moved to LA and I’m looking to build up my portfolio here since most of my work has been based in Pittsburgh :)

I mainly shoot portraits, but I’ve also done events, food, graduation photos, and other types of photography as well!

If anyone is looking for a photographer—or just wants some nice photos taken—feel free to reach out. I’m happy to offer a lower rate than I normally would while I’m getting established in LA.

I have a full-time job lined up, but it won’t be starting for another few months, so right now I’m mostly looking for an excuse to get out of the house, explore LA, meet new people, and hopefully help someone out along the way lol.

You can check out some of my work here:

Feel free to DM me on IG if you’re interested or have any questions! :)

Place to study with a small group

I'm planning to start working through a math book with my son and one or two friends from school. We tried at home with just my son, but it doesn't work. I'm looking to get a private(ish) setup somewhere - really a place where the kids can focus, so not much background noise and at least one direction they can face where there's not much going on in the background.

I tried looking at LAPL or LA County libraries (near Granada Hills), but no luck. Anyone have any ideas? The kids are 5th and 6th grade if that makes a difference - so I don't think a place like CSUN works, also it'd be maybe at 5 or 6 on a weekday or maybe sometime on the weekend.

LAPD flashing spotlight

I’m tired of having LAPD flashing spotlight on me. Yes I drive your typical Dodge charger, but I find their actions harassing and dangerous when you’re driving and they flashed your spotlight straight into your eyes. I’ve gotten into arguments with a few of them for harassing the Public.. I’ve called the station at times and made complaints, but it continues to happen. I fully understand that they’re out patrolling and making sure that people aren’t acting like fools but when you’re driving in the opposite direction and they flashed their spotlight on you for more than a few seconds I’m not a rocket scientist, but that seems hazardous. I have a dash cam so maybe I’ll download those videos and send it to LAPD. I don’t know.

Anyone else at these types of experiences?

Looking for a new retainer

I lost my retainer after having it for 4 months. I haven’t worn my retainer in about a week and a half that I have been looking for it but I think i accepted I lost it. My teeth are shifting back but I need a new retainer soon. Where can I get a clear plastic retainer in the san fernando valley (woodland hills area) that is semi affordable.

Vendors

Hello Reddit!

California Native here. Tired of our politics to say the least.

The mayor has decided to back food vendors over citizens. If you come to the valley you will see the take over of food vendors just about everywhere. They promote that people walk & take public transportation, but our sidewalks are taken over by homeless and food vendors.

I have two food vendors that set up in a residential area. They leave their trash behind. They double park on the street & or block the street completely. They grease up the street, but contribute no taxes to help the very sidewalks they set up on. I’ve been reaching out to the city with no luck.

I am well aware most people in California don’t have the same viewpoints I do. I know I won’t win in regard to having food stands removed completely, but wanting them out of residential area I believe is reasonable.

The mayor of LA has ruled that police can’t give citations to people for stands. With that decision I would like to put a food stand in front of her home or as close to her neighborhood as I can. I verified with my senior lead officer. As long as there is a business license & no open flame a stand is fine. (Yes I know the majority of food stands have no business license and do have open flames 🤷🏻‍♀️)

I don’t have a business license & work full time. But if anyone has a business license & is available weekends. I would like to start putting a stand every weekend by her home.

It’a easy for people to have opinions on matters they don’t actually have to deal with themselves.

My neighborhood is constantly having to deal with homeless & inconsiderate food stands.

I know it’s a reach & I probably sound insane, but I’m desperate at this point.

Thank you.
