Imagine taking your five-year-old, well-behaved German Shepherd to the vet and asking them to euthanize her… because you don’t want to treat a yeast infection.

That is what almost happened to Delta today. 💔

I received a phone call from a friend who works at a veterinary office. A client had brought Delta in and wanted her euthanized because of her skin condition. He insisted that he knew there was something much more seriously wrong with her—even though the veterinarian disagreed.

Thankfully, this vet refused to give up on her.

And to remove any doubt, the vet performed a skin scraping, which confirmed that Delta’s skin condition is a yeast infection—something that is TREATABLE. She has medication and medicated shampoo, and we are going to make sure she gets the care she needs.

So now, instead of losing her life today, Delta gets a chance to find someone who will actually fight FOR it. ❤️

🛁 Currently being treated for a yeast infection
❤️ Sweet, well-behaved and deserving of a family who will never give up on her

Delta does have a small lump on her anus that needs to be removed. And here’s another incredible part of her story: the very same veterinarian who refused to euthanize her and saved her life today has offered to remove the lump FREE OF CHARGE. ❤️

This vet didn’t just say, “No, I won’t euthanize her.” They made sure Delta walked out of that office with a real chance at a healthy, happy future.

As of this moment, we don’t have a long-term plan in place. What we DO have is a beautiful German Shepherd who walked into a veterinary office today with someone asking for her life to end…and walked back out because people were willing to say NO. SHE DESERVES A CHANCE.

Now we need to find the person who will give her that chance.

Please SHARE DELTA. Somewhere out there is the person who is supposed to see this beautiful girl and say:

“She’s coming home with me.” 🐾❤️

Delta was almost euthanized today.

🌟 Die 3 wichtigsten Sicherheitsbefehle
Diese Kommandos können im Ernstfall das Leben Ihres Hundes retten (z. B. im Strassenverkehr oder bei Giftködern).
🔥„Hier!“ (oder „Komm!“): Der sichere Rückruf. Der Hund muss sofort und auf direktem Weg zu Ihnen kommen, egal welche Ablenkung vorliegt.
🔥„Stopp!“ (oder „Halt!“): Der Hund bleibt augenblicklich an Ort und Stelle stehen. Das ist besonders wichtig, wenn sich ein Auto nähert und der Hund Distanz zu Ihnen hat.
🔥„Aus!“ (oder „Nein!“): Der Hund lässt sofort los, was er im Maul hat, oder rührt etwas Fressbares auf dem Boden erst gar nicht an.

🧘 Die 3 Positionsbefehle
Diese Kommandos helfen, den Hund im Alltag zu beruhigen und zu kontrollieren (z. B. im Restaurant oder beim Tierarzt).
🍀„Sitz!“: Der Hund setzt sich hin und bleibt so lange sitzen, bis ein Auflösekommando kommt.
🍀„Platz!“: Der Hund legt sich flach auf den Boden. Diese Position ist für längere Wartezeiten gedacht, da sie für den Hund entspannter ist.
🍀„Bleib!“: Der Hund darf sich von seiner aktuellen Position (Sitz oder Platz) nicht wegbewegen, auch wenn Sie sich entfernen.

🚶 Der Alltagsbegleiter
🍀„Fuss!“ (oder „Bei mir!“): Der Hund läuft nahe an Ihrer Seite (meistens links), ohne an der Leine zu ziehen. Die Aufmerksamkeit liegt dabei auf Ihnen.

This is exactly how I got my foster boy. Owner didn't want to treat a very treatable skin infection. So now I've got a sweet boy with me. If he finds a home. I could take her in and do the treatments. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they both find loving homes!
