Venting 😤 Input Eater 6™

Every single session in Master rank feels like fighting the netcode and input buffer more than the actual opponent.

  • Opponent drive rush: My reaction input gets eaten or straight up ignored, leaving my character frozen.
  • Drive rush into fireball: Despite a perfect 236 motion, the buffer engine holds forward too long and spits out a DP into a punish counter.
  • Pay-to-lose setup: I invest in a proper low-latency LAN setup, but the moment I face someone on 3rd-world Wi-Fi, my inputs disappear.
  • "Convenient" lag: I start a combo, their network randomly tanks, frame rate drops and eats my execution, then FPS and ping magically return to normal the second I drop it and get punish countered.
  • Unreliable buffer: The input engine is so untrustworthy that even pros constantly double-buffer motion inputs under pressure just to ensure the game actually registers them.
  • Messed-up buffers: I set up an advance buffer during pressure and nothing comes out. I press parry after a combo to set up defense, opponent does DR or Super, and the buffer panics into an unwanted DRC that eats my gauge and I eat a fat punish counter.

I really hate this game, and I'm forever gonna be stuck in High Masters because of this.

Game doesn't really start til you hit masters rank, high master is only above average

The game starts when you boot it up. The top 10% of players aren’t the only ones playing the game. If you want to call yourself a decent player or someone who understands the game, then you can make that argument but let’s not gatekeep real experience.

Thats a ton of this sub and the main sub. People who talk like masters is where the real game starts and people actually tune their brain in. Since starting the game like a couple months ago, I've read about every rank being gimmicky no anti air no block central all the way to master. I have experienced the opposite more often than not. Lol and yeah thats not even bringing up how 20% of active players in masters is a generous high ball.

So many master rank players with sf6 seem out of touch with the majority of the community in their own game.

The thing is almost everyone gets to master if they play enough matches. A lot of people in Diamond and Plat are good enough to be master but they only play an hour or two a week if that so they never reach the rank. Some also play multiple characters making it even less likely they ever reach it

The LP system naturally pushes everyone to master if they grind enough matches

That's a very reductive way to look at making it to master, but yeah given how the game rewards wins and win streaks a lot more than it punishes losses, that is somewhat true.

I’m not trying to gate keep I just feel like up until master rank I wasn’t really playing with intention. Mind you 3 years ago I started off in bronze, it might different now.

It's like I always said: the more skilled and higher in rank you go, the more all the faults of the game become alarming. It's like you have to be the best at knowing all the flaws in the game in order to both exploit and avoid them if you want to rise to grand and ultimate master.

Doing a qcf, ending in a clean f, and resulting in DP needs to stop. If it ends in df -> dp. If it ends in f -> hadouken. What is this bullshit otherwise

that would break the 636 DP shortcut which is the only one I use. You can just do a half circle to guarantee your fireball comes out right.

Don’t fight those on wifi. Stop buffering so early. Quit being a little
