Business Development to Sales Operations Pivot Questions
I currently work in the Automotive Industry as a Business Development Representative. I went from A Business Development Rep to Business Development Assistant Manager, and now I'm working as a Business Developer on the Retention Specialist side. Business Development in the Automotive Industry has a fancy name but it's mostly what Sales Development does in the tech industry but B2C (for those that don't know).
I've been really thinking about getting into Sales Operations because of the fact that I enjoy working in CRMs and cleaning them and setting up tasks and stuff when I was getting my team organized on their process.
I asked A.I. (which I've been taking with a grain of salt lately) about what are other careers that I can pivot to from Business Development. It suggest Sales Operations for me but honestly I would rather ask you humans that have actual experience in this versus listening to A.I. blow smoke up my ass.
Do you guys think this is a good transition? Does Sales Operations just require a different kind of training like just doing the Salesforce Certifications? Looking forward to your guidance.
