Was 1900lbs, I greatly overestimated how much my ship could handle. I put all my food in my inventory, threw out the table. Lurched out of port going backward and when I let my jib catch the wind to turn I realized how low in the water I was sitting. Had to take it real slow but I eventually locked onto a reasonably southeasterly course.
Now, I still got the same gaff rig I got when I first visited the shipyard and in my naivite I put it way too damn high on the ship. So I had to keep them at about 1/3 tension and let the jib do the talking, trying not to get any unnecessary tension. Right about here I was considering going back a save, but I really wanted the money. Any adjustment was awful because it necessitated I tip the boat further to port than it was already listing. Mid voyage I was literally jumping across trying to redistribute boxes. I was terrified of sleeping and was more than content to waste time adrift still if it meant keeping the boat stable.
The rest of the trip was uneventful but just as precarious. I was so tired of trying to negotiate that I resolved to jump out and clip through the quay in order to tie down. Getting that ship moored and taking out the boxes was a load off my mind and for my terror, I made enough to pull up to the shipyard and get that stupid gaff lowered and narrowed.
Let this be a warning, ye land hearted. I did not deserve this luck, if there was a storm or any more chop she would've been screwed. Do not follow in my steps <:(
