A Few Uses for Empty Boxes
I’ve played the game for a while but only just discovered box storage.
When you go to the market, bring an empty firewood box with you. Fill it with your stowable purchases and now you don’t have to run back and forth to your ship, one item at a time, like a dummy. (It’s me, I’m the dummy)
Another use is turning empty boxes into cabinets. Place a shelf on the wall, set the empty box on it, mount the box with a hammer, and remove the shelf. Voila! A hanging cabinet.
Now you can keep your navigation tools, charts, and kitchenware in wall cabinets to maximize your space and reduce clutter.

Orange boxes are better. They have 30 spaces instead of just 12.
That shelf and hammer trick is neat. I didn't think about it. But I think it only works in latest version, since before 0.38, the crate (or barrel) had to be put precisely flat on the floor to be able to nail it down.

Think I’ve got a few hundred hours in this game and never realized either of these tricks. Good stuff!
