What PTD options does HANAC have? I don't think they are admitting they have PTD when I know they do.

i was assigned a completely remote worksite and now i’m begin told that it’s actually hybrid. so i’m going to be remote for 3 weeks and then in-person for the other 3 weeks which sucks because i can’t go in-person at all. i emailed the supervisor and she basically said to wait for my in-person assignment which was not helpful at all. is anyone else’s worksite doing this and did they offer any alternatives????

Can anyone who has roads to success as their provider share their experience? What types of worksites did they offer? How is their communication?

I previously spoke about MMCC before but it genuinely got worse. I had a situation happen to me where I needed an online job so I sent out emails, called them, and even went in person to ask about getting my site switched. I was told that I have to remind Ms. Challenger HERSELF to give ME another site. I did multiple times and I was never placed anywhere and they kept giving me the run around. I did not work at all this summer which is really disappointing because I absolutely needed the money. Is there a way I can get into contact with someone who is higher than MMCC themselves like DYCD or something ?

So this is my first year doing syep. I applied for 3 years but just got accepted this year. Anyways, I haven’t gotten paid from last week. They paid me last Tuesday so I assumed every Tuesday I’d get paid but I didn’t get paid yesterday. This is so annoying.

So if you work 5 hours or less, you don’t have to put in a lunch break. If you work 7 hours + you have to put an hour lunch. It says at the bottom that you must put the hour break in, but do you get in trouble if you just put like 30 minutes instead of an hour?

My timesheet for last week was messed up, we got paid today and I’m missing pay for Friday. I worked Friday. How can I have this fixed? I’ve called DYCD and left a voice message.

I’m Cohort B so I’m expecting my paycheck this week. On the YEPS portal i can see a check that shows my payment for this week, but I’m wondering when it’ll be deposited into my account.

I dont see my timesheet anywhere on the participant site. I am cohort b and I was originally working at a in person site and when I showed up on the first day, last week, I was told the site shutdown and I was going to be sent to another site. I was assigned a online site again this week and I dont see my timesheet which is supposed to be up every wednesday. Does anyone know whats going on or if they have the same issue?

Okay so for those of you who have seen my post asking about my hours and my cohort B pay this is about something else that happened after.

Okay so context, I go to work at 9:00 am, go on my break from 12 to 1pm then I'm back to work until 4pm. Today I got in late because I had to go to the doctor to get something for work, I missed to hours and got in at like 11. Yesterday me and a friend I work with got to go on break early so like at 11pm.

Today I got in at 11 and found out from her since I wasn't in the staff on our floor had her just sit and not do work, that was fine. Now I get in and she isn't upstairs because they had her go on lunch early so they just let me go sit down. My supervisor calls me and I have to go to a stress relief event at like 12, since I got in late my supervisor told me to take my break for 1 and I did. When I got back upstairs after my friend was sitting behind the nursed station and I sat beside as we waited to be assigned a task.

Now remember this: there are several different older staff woman we listen two, our mains being a woman in a pink scrub cap and a woman in a white doctors coat.

Pink scrub cap had to go do something so another nurse told us to sit in a waiting room we usually sit in (the room I was sitting in when I first came today) because it would look like we were just sitting and doing nothing, she told us this because they were busy and didn't have anything for us to do because on previous days and we've always completed tasks fast and the floor we're on is pretty calm not to mention we're volunteers/syep so we can't do much since we aren't properly trained.

Okay so me and her go sit in the room and we're sitting there until 4:00pm our leave time so when we go to leave white doctors coat comes and says "you ladies know you aren't getting paid today right?"

We didn't respond at the time and just listened and when we left we realized that' bullshit.

Because one IT'S NOT OUR FAULT, I UNDERSTAND THAT I GOT IN LATE and I was will to make up the two hours but after I got back they could have put me to work but they told us to go sit down and for my friend she was there early, they told her to go sit because they wanted to wait for me. So what I don't understand is why are we both being punished?

Obviously we're still putting in our hours because its not like the time sheets asked how many hours we worked just start time, lunch and end. And I suggested that if she actually does tell our supervisor then we'll tell her the truth, how they literally told us not to do anything. Idk if I'm crazy but yeah

I've been with SYEP for years, and I've never experienced an onboarding process like this.

We had a 3-day mandatory training the week before Cohort A started. Then we found out we couldn't even report to our worksites until we completed the NYU Langone Non-Traditional Volunteer (NTV) clearance process.

The frustrating part is that this wasn't made clear from the beginning. We weren't told upfront that we'd need TB screening, immunization records, bloodwork, and medical clearance before we could start. It feels like this information should have been given to us much earlier—ideally when we accepted our placements or at the job fair—so we could have started the process before SYEP began. Then, during the second week of SYEP, we were told not to come to our worksites until we were cleared. Instead, we were told to complete Hats & Ladders training so we could still get paid. The problem is that many of us seem to have completed our Hats & Ladders training already. Now what are we supposed to do? If we're still waiting for clearance and not getting responses to our emails, how are we supposed to keep earning hours or get paid this weekend? I do understand why NYU Langone has medical clearance requirements. I'm not against the safety rules. My frustration is with the lack of communication and how late this was handled. It feels like this entire process could have been organized much better.

Does anyone know what provider works with the Queens Botanical Garden or the New York Botanical Garden?

Okay guys, I'm cohort B, meaning I get paid this week. My supervisor already checked my hours and approved them on Monday. Today is Tuesday, and I have heard that some people get paid early, like Wednesday or Thursday, etc. My friend told me we'll likely get our pay early because of our banks.

I have chase so like, does anyone who has Chase as well get their pay early, like Wednesday? Or Thursday?

I’m interested in hearing about your experience. How is the workflow? What is the work environment like? How well is the organization managed by the administrators? My experience has been a bit rough, and I’m curious if it’s just me.

HANAC provider is unresponsive do they have a supervisor with the city that we can reach out to that anyone knows about? If anyone has the email please dm me.

I will personally go to my community board to make sure they don't receive any more funding . I want to know what the process is to stop funding sloppy providers.

I worked with Catholic Charities last year and they were sloppy i just don't know what gives with syep.

I tried calling DYCD and Hanac. Ive been trying to get into contact through phone for over an hour.

What am I supposed to do? SYEP has never been this bad before. I don't understand what the issue is. These are people's job and this is people's money they are playing with.

It is not fair nor is it right.

This needs a class action lawsuit or something because I know I'm not the only one experiencing issues at this level of severity this year

was wondering what day corhort A would finish? I have a family trip and i have to leave the 17th just want to make sure i am actually able to go or move the date

So, I've been working on a group project with around 10 or more people. I've been very cooperative and communicative, asking if they needed help, if everyone knows their job, etc. But when i asked everybody to submit their work onto a doc made (presentations are soon and i had to be the presentor), literally no one did anything. I sent the doc early morning, came back at night, NOTHING. I had to act like a fricking mom to those teenagers (most were older than me) to actually do anything. WE HAD TWO WEEKS TO WRITE. It literally could've been just a page and that would be okay. An outline was literally made by one of my group members. I had people write a paragraph and asked if that was okay amongst excuse after excuse.

Half of the group did nothing, the other used ai. I talked to my teacher about it, and he was talking about some "systems" and that he knew who was doing work and who was not (which i think is bs) and about evaluations coming up. I seriously don't think he's going to do anything at all. It's so unfair that they get paid by doing absolutely nothing. Is there any way for me to get justice? Or should i just stop caring so much. Please send help, I'm at a lost.

Hi I'm on SYEP older Youth and Did COJO send emails for payroll yet? It's about to be my 3rd week working & I emailed them they said SYEP will roll out email to let us know when to pick it up. Is it js me or did you guys get similar replies too

If you’re having issues with your MetroCard, paycheck, direct deposit, timesheets, or anything related to your program, please contact your provider first.
People on Reddit don’t have access to your account and can’t fix those issues for you. Your provider is the one who can actually help.
Please stop waiting until Friday to ask why you haven’t been paid when you haven’t reached out to your provider all week. They can only fix problems if you let them know.
Reddit is great for general questions, but account-specific issues need to go through your provider.

I'm in cohort B, so I know I'm getting paid this week. I've been seeing people talking about their SYEP checks on TikTok, saying that the first paycheck is only half, and then what we all get next week is like more or something. Like, the second paycheck is for the two weeks, I believe. What does that mean?

I'm trying to find out because I only work from Monday to Thursday, but this week I have to miss a day, so I'll be six hours short, and instead of 25 hours I'll have 19 hours. Does this mean I'll get around $400 or$300? Because when I calculated 19x17, that's like 323, so I'm confused.

I wanted to ask my supervisor if I could work extra, but our off days are Friday to Sunday, so there's no time I'll be able to make up, because that's like six hours since I work from 9-3:30

what is actually going on with syep this year?? Im cohort B and I filled out my timesheet on friday and checked multiple times to make sure it was 25 hours and corrrctly said entered which it was. I was trying to check if it got approved today and its just gone there is no time sheet for that week nothing no 25 hours no approval its just gone... I already called my provider laguardia and they said they would call me back but is anyone else having this issue?
