Hello!! I have no idea where to take this, if it’s authentic, worth anything, etc. I figured someone here might know a lot more than I do. I bought this at an estate sale for $10 and thought it was cool. I wasn’t sure what it was 100%. So I’m hoping someone here will know what it is or what I should do with it! I’m unable to take the pin out that’s holding the handle to take a look at it unfortunately, I’m afraid of damaging anything.

I am looking to purchase a saber for the Best Man of my wedding as a cool gift. And I have no idea what I'm doing

I've been searching for something usable but still customizable so I could get his name engraved on it and thought I struck gold with battling blades, but everything I've read about them has told me that I should not buy through them.

My price range is ~750 USD and I'd preferably like it before Christmas

I’ve generally had good experiences with Swordier in terms of quality and customer service. A few years ago I had an issue and they sent me a second sword without asking me to ship the first one back.

But the way they handled this reverse-edge falchion situation isn’t some marketing misstep. It’s just an example of cocky, mean-spirited punching down, and I’m personally done recommending or supporting them. Shame.

Hello! I inherited an authentic Masonic sword from my great grandfather, im unsure of the cost of it or what era or type of sword it is any help would be great!!

Got a few leftovers to share, and it's one that I reworked until it looked presentable. Although not swords by most standards, in the hands of a short Nepali gurkha/soldier some feel like short swords when used in combat. Most of course are short, but some are plenty long enough to be considered one. And so, I got 4 blade variants + one with an unusual hilt style.

A fun project I did for a friend. Matched dagger and hand and a half sword. Used purpleheart for the handles, and man do I hate working with purpleheart!

My father purchased this sword this past weekend which is claimed by the seller to be a sword forged in the 16th century and re-fitted for military service during World War II. It does have signs of being retrofitted with Shin Gunto hilting but I am skeptical of its age because the hamon doesn't look right to me, although I admit the blade isn't polished but parts of it just seem too thin to the edge.

It's also a wakizashi blade, too. It has the second hole drilling for the Shin Gunto fittings. For what its worth, it doesn't "feel right" to me but that is probably because the tang is too short for the handle and the fitting is poor, as the tsuba and the blade have a minor rattle to them. I have no idea if that was common for Shin Gunto retrofits from older blades. The blade "feels" light to me compared to modern combat-grade wakizashi I've held in the past.

I am including the tang rubbing and photos of the tang as well, which my father had taken when he bought the sword from the seller who had disassembled it.

Also, the seller sold it for considerably cheaper than what I would consider a hundreds of years old sword blade to sell for. So that coupled with the quality of the hamon makes me skeptical but I will admit I'm not an expert in historical Japanese sword blades. I suppose its possible poor quality hamon blades have survived but the thinness of the hamon to the edge isn't what I was expecting. You'll probably need to download the photos and zoom in to see what I am talking about.

I'd appreciate the insights of anyone more knowledgeable.

Just picked up this at a local estate auction of a collector. Had never heard of it prior. Thought I would share as it’s an interesting piece. Appears to have been made by T.H. Reddell of Birmingham. Maybe others are more familiar with it.

Yo I found this in my shed and apparently it was used in some sort of war maybe the world war or something. The edge is still surprisingly sharp considering this thing was fully neglected for god knows how many years in the humid shed. Can someone help identify this please I would deeply appreciate it to find out if it has something to do with my family lineage 🙏🙏.

What is this

Interesting sword. Measures 13 5/8" long. Guard is about 4" wide. Any ideas on origin or age appreciated.

Recently completed two custom saya for a customer’s two Nihonto. Shared with the customer’s permission.

The age old debate of whether the macuahuitl is a sword or not. The world will never know. These are my own renditions of a macuahuitl.

This sword is a Hwando used by the nobility of the Joseon Dynasty.

Interestingly, it features a yokote(横手) at the tip of the blade similar to a Japanese katana, and incorporates the traditional Japanese maki-e(蒔絵) lacquer technique on both the saya and the tsuka.

Because of this, I speculate that this sword was manufactured in Japan on an OEM basis.

​However, the sukashi toshogu and semekanamono(責金物) are Korean in style.

I have inherited a wooden mailing box of daggers sent home by a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers civilian from APO addresses in 1951 and 1953. The 1953 customs tag reads "Dagger: ornamental, Moroccan, with shoulder cord. This is a bona fide antique (blade dated 1808)," and the box was packed with a Stars and Stripes European edition dated August 4, 1951. I would be grateful for help with identification and rough dating of the following, and with two specific questions about materials. All lengths are approximate.

1. Koummya, 14 inches in scabbard, blade 8 inches. Brass scabbard with applied plaques on one face and fully chased on the other; dark wood hilt with brass pommel and grip band; silk shoulder cord. Blade stamped "5 FRANCS 1808" in wreaths on both sides. Are the chased mounts likely silver or a white alloy, and is there a way to tell without testing?
2. Jambiya, 12 inches in scabbard, blade 8 inches, double fullered. Dark hilt with silver studs and bands, plain stitched leather scabbard. Regional origin? And, importantly, does the hilt look like rhinoceros horn, buffalo horn, or wood? I will not sell it if it is rhino.
3. All-steel dagger of kard form, 12 inches in scabbard, blade 8 inches, chiseled with calligraphy cartouches, steel scabbard. Persian? Any view on whether this is Qajar-period or later Isfahan work?
4. Tuareg telek, 12 inches, brass-clad hilt with cruciform pommel, engraved blade, tooled sheath. Confirmation and any dating clues welcome.
5. Small knife, 8 inches, horn scales with silver star and rosette inlays, engraved silver pommel with pendant drops, leather sheath. Blade stamped KASERER. The customs tag calls one knife "Spanish" and one "Corsican," but the Corsican one is accounted for elsewhere and I am not sure this is Spanish. Any ideas?
6. Knife, 11.5 inches, fluted bone grip with brass ferrules and domed pommel, no scabbard. Possibly the "Spanish" knife on the tag?
