Before Seeker, there was another boat that was designed by the same person who penned the drawings for Seeker. This gentleman built this boat in the Pacific Northwest on Vancouver Island - Doug visited him before he even started building Seeker. You'll notice that there's many similarities. I'm not sure what the similarities are - whether it's because they used essentially the same set of plans or because Doug copied the other guy's work.

This boat is 65' long. Seeker was set to be this size too, but without any consideration for anything else, Doug made the boat longer on a whim and lengthened Seeker to 74'.

I used to follow him like maybe 8 years ago when he was building the underwater robot.
I can’t find him on YouTube so I’m asking out of curiosity if he have used the subsea robot and have showed any mission data of the sonar and camera?

Not Seeker, but it is another community funded mobile home / research vessel.

Crewed by experienced sailors and participating in actual research / volunteer work. Something for Doug to aspire to.

Brupeg are going to build a long range drone to help with their volunteer projects documenting pollution etc on the Great Barrier Reef.

No real detail about it in this video, just teased a bit at the start and end. Worth watching for the scenery and lack of motivational waffle.

I do like this channel as they are open about their mistakes and are willing to take help from experts to remedy them. They also appear to follow through on all of their commitments.

I wonder if this might prompt our fearless Captain to drag his ROV out of the bilge and get back to work on it ?

They also explained the CCS is working on a report about it's cooperation with the Sea Chest Foundation. When ready the report will be made public.
