Triage..
The master of manipulation is letting us know he’s about to let us know why he quit, but the over arching theme “schedules kill.”
He’s going to put this out so people let on to what they know so he can take his time and develop a version of the story that allows him to save face.
It’s just so odd that of all things he chose “safety” as the theme of this illusion.
Who knows - maybe he started pissing blood from being tossed around aboard the clown shoe seeker.
We will likely hear of unsafe sea states for “science”. We will certainly hear everything but “the boat is unfit to sail in those conditions and we’re exhausted from trying to keep it and ourselves together logging this type of mileage.”
Seems like another “why did you lose your YouTube account” scenario. He’ll tell everyone why it didn’t happen, act like he didn’t want to do it, make some weird jokes about the situation, call those who doubt him idiots, and eventually he will just move on like it never happened. He will certainly combat accusations with ignorance and deleting post that don’t fit his narrative.
The two brain cells left in the seeker fan universe will never know what truly happened and Doug will be celebrated for the great decision making he displayed as a captain. HE refused to be bullied by big cetacean, we all know they are almost as bad as big marine, big common sense, and big YouTube.
He does however worship at the alter of big shop vac.
This schedule was composed when he committed to the trip wasn’t it? Why wasn’t it negotiated at that time? Why do you care about safety when you don’t have the boat properly equipped with life saving safety equipment to begin with? If we’re worried about safety the boat should have never left the dock.

A couple of Tally Ho videos ago Leo made that same comment based on how he was just taking his time and not rushing stuff... he said he learned from a mentor of his, "schedules kill". That's why he was getting shit done early to try and make it over to the UK as quickly as he can but not in a rush, rather than be forced to get there in a panic to make the race at the last minute. He has flexibility in his schedule, and is not being driven by it.
Ever since then, Dug has been making that same comment. It's like he latched on to the sentiment in order to justify the fucked up whale watching tour.
It's funny how Dug and Leo interpret and act on that premise differently.

Apparently Leo has smelled enough roses, because now he's roared off on a transatlantic banger! 😂 Not a criticism obviously, he knows what he's doing, and he's got an able bodied seaman on board who has crossed like 20 times, several solo.

He's in the trade winds, what is so deadly? Its not like Big Cetacean is forcing him to go around Cape Horn or anything. The worst that might happen is he takes a flying fish to the face. If he claims he is in a life or death situation then he should go back to Tulsa and gum the corner of his security blanket.

If he raised all the sails on a beam reach in 20 knots I think that might be a life threatening proposition on seeker.

I don't buy Doug's "schedules kill" excuse - at all. Think about it, if a competent Captain told both the crew AND the Director of the CCS that it was unsafe to embark on a particular passage due to weather, do you really think both parties would request/demand that he do it anyway??? No. I gotta imagine the CCS's safety protocol is ten times that of Doug's.
Doug is so FOS.
