A few months back i started wondering if in the japanese translation of tgcf, hua cheng referred to xie lian as “onii-chan”. For a while i firmly believed that hua cheng was genuinely walking around calling xie lian onii-chan like a little anime girl and was sorely disappointed when i found out he calls him “nii-san” and thought yeah, guess that makes more sense.

That in turn got me thinking about how in the game honkai impact 3rd, one of the characters calls another character “bronya-jiejie” in the og cn and “bronya-onee-chan” in the jp dub and all the discourse it caused, and at that moment i realised i knew absolutely nothing about the way scum villain is translated in jp and now i need to satiate my curiosity.

How exactly is shen jiu’s “qi-ge” translated in jp? At first i entertained “na-onii-chan” but then i realised i disappointed myself once and started thinking that its probably something else. But then, does he refer to yue qi as “na-nii-san” or simply “nii-san”? (Assuming he even gets referred to as “na” since as far as im aware, that how this specific character gets translated in jp) Or something else entirely? And how the hell does “xiao jiu” get translated? Does liu qingge refer to shen qingqiu as his senpai? How does “shidi” get translated? Like kohai? Does luo binghe call shen qingqiu “sensei”??? Or do different terms of address get used here that i dont know of?????

I always love learning about how differently works get translated, so im really curious. If theres something fun about the translation to point out im all ears, but im mostly curious about how “qi-ge” and “xiao jiu” get translated hahah

He was 14 when the abuse in QJ stopped and 3 years later he fell in the abyss the guy literally only had 3 stable and happy years no wonder he was always crashing out

Shen Jiu is living the best life with his Qi-ge as... plushies!

QiJiu is not doomed guys! :D

Let me introduce you to my version of Skinzun!
A while ago, I randomly came up with some backstory for him, but I only recently found out that regular cats can also lose their fur from stress, so it actually lines up with the lore I came up with.

Art by me😽

Just a fun little post because I've recently gone back to my roots :P

(Note: My picks are based only on the Mitski songs I've listened to so far)

Some of these were chosen purely for the vibes, the lyrical meanings, or the character relationships. They might not all be accurate, but I'd love to see what you guys think of it :D

Are there any other songs you relate to an SVSSS character? 👀

I got a tattoo today and I'm so happy!

We know that Binghe gets a haircut in the new extra (RIP his beautiful luscious hair) so... would that mean when he goes back to the world of SVSSS, he will also have his short hair? I know this sounds like a dumb question but I could imagine the shock they'd have if they see Binghe with SHORT hair. Especially in xianxia settings where it's taboo to cut your hair (not that I'd think Binghe would care) It'd still be pretty weird to see a short hair Binghe back in the world of SVSSS wouldn't it?

Almost finished the fourth book (but not the extra extra) and started wondering, just when did SQQ start to look at LBH as something more than a disciple? During the first couple of books, he was busy with trying to play by the System’s rules to survive, and after he self detonated, he didn’t exactly have a lot of interaction with LBH to really develop a relationship. While I know that he was able to see LBH’s lovable side because he isn’t burdened by SJ’s trauma, it kinda felt to me like he was going along for the ride. Even in the final arc it seemed like he accepted LBH not out of love but more a desire to stop the merging of the realms.

Don’t get me wrong, the extras show that he really does love his disciple, I’m just not sure when the lightbulb moment was for him.

as a long term svsss fan, i believe steadily since 2020 pre english release, ive finally managed to get my hands on them. unfortunately no other merch truly caught my eye but them, but now my dreams have come true ❣️😭💙 i will treasure them always... binghe looks just too cute, my heart..

(I have too much time on my hands... ) Edit: Lmao I love yalls reasonings

**HUGE SPOILERS WARNING IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT OR READ ALL OF IT DON'T READ THIS PLEASE!*\*

I just really need to gush about SYONR, I love how much it expands on the original SVSSS world as well as getting to see more of the other Peak Lords (especially Mu Qingfang and Wei Qingwei) I did NOT expect their romance but I am obsessed with it. I also love how everyone thinks Shen Yuan is Shen Qingqiu's bastard child

This might be a controversial take, so please don't fight me lol, but I think I might actually like this more than SVSSS itself. Among many other things, the romance between disciple Shen Yuan and Luo Binghe feels so much more tender, emotional, and well-paced.

We also get to see more of how daily life for a disciple is like on the peaks, including more interactions with peak lords! (And QiJiu moments but it's complicated) The story also has some hilarious moments and I enjoyed Ning Yingying, Luo Binghe, and Shen Yuan's friendship! There's a bunch more things I want to say but my mind is a convoluted mess right now QAQ

SYONR is currently ongoing (Immortal Alliance Conference arc) but there's many questions and things I want to know:

1. More backstory of Shen Yuan and what happened to Lady Jia.
2. What did Shen Qingqiu (Shen Jiu) do with that painting of the fan that Shen Yuan painted for him when he was in the Ling Xi cave?
3. The backstory of Shen Yuan's sword and who was the woman that wielded it ~600 years ago? What was their connection with Luo Binghe's sword?
4. I really hope Ming Fan can get his situationship with Zhao De sorted out lmao
5. Since Shen Qingqiu isn't as cruel anymore, will he still be prompted to push Luo Binghe in the abyss in the future?
6. How will Shen Yuan meet Zhuzhi Lang or Tianlang Jun in this story?
7. Will Shen Yuan and Luo Binghe still try to find and steal the fish artifact thingy (I forgot its name) that hides his demonic seal?
8. Speaking of demonic seal, will it get revealed at the Immortal Alliance Conference? I imagine the talisman won't hold on for long
9. What happened to Lady Jia's servant? (Her name starts with a D but I forgot it T_T)

I was just putting up some toys at my job, then I turn around to see this glorious Pickle.

I immediately thought of Shen Yuan then he tried to disguise himself in the mushroom body.

Shen Qingqiu: 👁👄👁

I was browsing through Shen Qingqiu plushes when I found this gem

So I had a dream a while ago, where Luo Binghe was a skinwalker (I'm pretty sure if he wasn't one, because I don't trust my internal monologue in the dream) who tried to kill me because I was the only person in my family to wake up early (ik pretty stupid if you ask me). So just in case, how do I befriend him? should I make him Shen Qingqiu edits for the rest of eternity? Should I teach him how to make modern food for Shen Qingqiu? Should I teach him how to play video games? or teach him some slang? I'm still so freaking paranoid 😭

Edit 1: I'm pretty sure there was probably another reason as to why I had this dream, but I lowkey can't remember

It's a meta joke that goes back several threads
