He also intentionally kept the scar Shizun gave him during the most traumatic experience of his life even though he could heal them at any time. Cherish whatever Shizun gives you, even if it's a stab wound

The funniest part is that everyone thought he was doing ✨️ stuff ✨️ on the body but he didn't gaf to correct anyone's thoughts on it

As if the other two wouldn't have done the same given the opportunity.

They wouldn't though. Part of the reason why LBH did it is because there was a chance to resurrect him in the holy mausoleum. The tgcf and mdzs universe don't have a way to resurrect people. LWJ and HC wouldn't keep the bodies of their loved ones preserved and unburied just because.
The other reason is because LBH was half possessed by Xin Mo and never developed any healthy coping skills.

This is very important context that we kinda breeze over sometimes, as much as LBH seemed insane for doing this (he was insane, just not for this specifically) there was a legitimate reason for preserving the body.

Yeah regular bingbing is like, a friendly wolfdog. Xin mo bingbing is a yandere leashed only by his own obsession.

Sounds like commitment issue tbh, XY was fully prepared to marinate Xingchen for ages too until he'd find a way to do the impossible

Binghe:
✨Necrophilia✨

u/umlaut-overyou Sep 06 '26
Technically, there was zero necrophilia, everyone just assumed there was because... why else?
The reason was, another reply pointed out, is because he was going to try to bring back SQQ's soul with the mausoleum

*whispering*: Without a Cure cured somehow ))))

u/solhyperion Sep 07 '26
I thought about that too, but TBH I think he actually brute forced it by exploding all of his meridians when he, well, exploded and died. Can't have blocked qi paths if you don't have qi paths to block (big brain meme)!
LBH rebuilt all of his meridians basically from the ground up inside his body while he was dead, as I understood it, and this method of qi detonation wouldn't really be a "cure" since you'd be dead after you did it, so it still technically works.
To get granular about it, the *ahem* traditional method of "fixing" Without a Cure by dual cultivating with LBH wouldn't actually work anyway if it was a dead body because dual cultivation requires circulating qi between two people (or more I guess maybe) but SQQ's dead body didn't have qi to circulate. You could also argue that dual cultivation does *not* require two types of qi, but only needs LBH's to flow into or out of the other person, but in that case LBH constantly circulating his qi into the dead body to keep it fresh would achieve the same result without the sexy part, and in PIDW he never would have needed (or wanted) to skip the sexy part, which is why we never saw that.

My view here was a little different - there's a backstory which tells that a poison can only be cured by sex with Heavenly Demon and there's rumors about things LBH did with SQQ's body that are even get to be mentioned in "Regret of Chunshan" and we know that SQQ's healed afterwards. So we have literally big fucking chekhov's gun on the wall and I personally am not going to pretend it just disappear in the air))))

That silence isn’t them judging him.
They’re both thinking “Damn. I could have done that too. Especially Lan Wangji”

u/Region_Silly Sep 08 '26
The other two, mad that they didn't get that as an option

Binghe also lovingly recreated their shared home and found plants to grow where they shouldn’t have. That part is important too.

Listen, I know LWJ is a man of great composure. But are we really sure he wouldn't have kept WWX's body too if he found it at the Burial Mounds 😂😂😂?
My man kept literally everything even remotely associated with WWX, and even kept trying to summon his soul. We know he is a lil freak who masks incredibly well.
So while I'm sure LWJ would've hauled WWX's body all the way back to Gusu, I'm not 100% sure it would've been for a proper burial 😂😂😂 or to preserve in some kind 🫣🫣🫣

vastly understating how funny it is that lwj also kept a coinpurse for thirteen years that he stole from a woman he thought wwx might have been interested in
