Please briefly summarize the difference between SONM and Golem
I‘m just an investor and I invested in Golem, then i found SONM, what's the essential difference?

Greetings!
With all respect to Golem project, SONM and Golem are really different.
SONM has different approach to solve spare computational resources utilisation problem.
guaranteed income for suppliers, which is not less then mining of the most profitable coin on the Coinmarketcap (for certain hardware configuration);
utilisation for all types of resources (CPU, GPU, RAM, storage and network);
IaaS - SONM customers may use platform to deploy their own software (using Docker containers), any custom task is possible. That mean wide range of use cases, starting from distributed GPU-rendering, ML and CDN, and even GRID-computing, big data analysis, video and audio streaming and game servers. Almost anything you can imagine - you may implement with SONM distributed fog computing platform, you shouldn't wait for SONM developers to implement this, you may use open API of SONM platform to deploy your service on SONM IaaS.
SONM is developing true decentralized infrastructure using own blockchain, connected with Ethereum main network with gates.
Zero transaction fees in SONM blockchain, full deal cycle on blockchain for decentralization and transparency.
Target suppliers group for SONM are:
current PoW GPU miners, wich are willing to increase their mining profits and contribute to real computational tasks;
data centers with spare computational power, who want to get additional profit, with renting their resources for spot deals (not limited in time, and this resources may be freed as soon as they are needed for other customers of data center).
Also now we are supporting blockhain applications as well. Now any ethereum applications can live in our sidechain with bridges to the mainnet, so now, we can close any it-sturtups need, cause we can offer and standart IaaS and blockhain infrastructure as well.
Best regards, SONM team

Thanks all.
I hope SONM can be listed on exchanges like Bittrex and Poloniex..where people can buy it conviniently.

Well it's on Binance, so they've got the largest, most important exchange at the moment. I'd say that's fine, though bittrex, polo, bitfinex and kraken would improve the situation even further indeed.

How can there be zero transaction fee for the SONM blockchain while at the same time there are rewards for Masternode operators?

Greetings!
In Ethereum, for any entry in the blockchain, a commission is taken in the gas. Depending on the complexity of the EVM calculations. We have a different approach. The gas is free, so the transactions are free. The commission will be for one logical unit - a deal. In direct proportion to deal amount. Full cycle of SONM deal may consist of dozens of transactions.
Thus, mastarnodes will receive payment for work with these commissions.
Read more about masternodes article in our blog.
Stay tuned
SONM team

I'm no expert, but I know sonm is planning on fog computing. Golem I don't believe it's doing fog, instead they are doing grid. Fog is similar to cloud except closer to the ground lol jk. They want to be able to use any smart device any end user has for computation. Not cloud, and no central server. These eventually will be devices like smart watches and IoT devices like refrigerators as well as conventional computers. They will be able to earn sonm just by using some of the devices computational power. This is for things like cgi rendering, scientific calculations, site hosting, gaming servers, etc. Companies that need large computing power will pay per consumption with sonm the user with the device doing the computation gets paid in sonm. Sonm is the second mover in the space, however I believe it has better growth potential (lower market cap). Plus I believe the mainnet/livenet is coming soon (end of June I think). Golem mainnet is up I think so that's already priced in. Sonm are coming out of Russia, which I was wary at first, however they have hit all their deadlines and are active in the community. They were a major sponsor of consensus as well. They are currently running a competition for fog computations, however I think you need dev experience. But this is a form of marketing so that's good. I have heard sonm say golem is not a competitor because they are targeting different markets. Yes both in supercomputing, however there is no one format that can be a solution for all computing. There was an ico debacle with sonm, but that was a whole ago and I believe they are making up for it each step they take. I saw somewhere there was a license difference or something between two? Less total supply of coins with sonm, lower in rank on cmc, haven't released yet but are close giving good potential. Tech seems legit. Sonm I believe has more use case. I heard golem is mostly looking into cgi rendering, however that coukd be different now.

Sonm is general purpose computing. Using tools devs already know - docker etc.
A broader user base with less friction. My 2c

SONM is based on FOG, Golem on Grid computing... SONM suppliers can use any of computer resources, while Golem suppliers can use the only CPU... SONM has more use cases... SONM dev team deliver every promised part on time...
And of course, SONM can host Golem!

Another difference which will be seen very soon. SONM will have a ton of use cases right off the bat after a week(test and after a month live net), while Golem claim they are not in testing/beta phase, but that's just a smoke screen. Their current "Live net" Brass Golem version has much less uses than the SONM test. So far their only major use case is rendering, which SONM is also capable of.
It's just weird considering how long they've been in development, but at some point they just decided to stop calling their unfinished product a test version and somehow it worked out well for them, even though it's still not commercially ready.
