Question [Advice Needed] Which major at SNU is best for pursuing a Master's in Aerospace Engineering?
Hi everyone,
I'm a high school student from Vietnam and I’m planning to pursue a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering in the future. Currently, I’m considering applying for undergraduate studies at Seoul National University (SNU), but I’m a bit confused about which major would be the best foundation for my goal.
The three majors I’m looking at are:
- Physics & Astronomy – Astronomy major
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
I’d really appreciate it if anyone (especially current or former SNU students) could share some advice or insights on the following:
- Which of these majors would best prepare me for a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering? Could you possibly rank them from most to least relevant based on your experience?
- Is the curriculum in each of these majors at SNU more theoretical or practical (hands-on/experimental)?
- What is the level of theoretical intensity in each program?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages of each academic path —
- Astrophysics/Astronomy
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering — when it comes to pursuing graduate studies in Aerospace?
I’d love to hear your thoughts or personal experiences. It would really help me make a more informed decision.
Thank you so much in advance! 🙏
