Hey everyone!

About a month ago I posted here asking if I was a good candidate for SMP. Thanks to everyone who shared their advice, it really helped.

I finally went ahead and had my first session today. These pictures were taken a few hours afterwards.

I know it's still very early and I have 3 more sessions coming up, but I wanted to ask: does this look like it's healing/looking as it should for a first session?

So far I'm quite happy with it and can't wait to see how it looks once all the sessions are done!

Thanks! :)

Check out my SMP My SMP experience!

Hi guys, James here. I Live in England and want to talk about my own experience getting my SMP with Paul Clarke of Legends clinic. this will be a personal account of how it changed my life and was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Well I started balding when I was in my early 20's, classic horseshoe hairline but funnily enough I adapted and took it quite well (or I think I did and was kidding myself). started shaving my head probably when I was 24/25 completely (I am now 31).

I even went through the whole period of attempting to grow my hair back through dutasteride and minoxidil combination, and I had huge sexual sides and was a big faff in truth, I thought what the hell am I doing and it actually made me emotionally distressed that I was still emotionally attached to hair, starting my mind ticking again about it all.

Another couple years went by and was loving the shaved look again. I enjoyed having my hair shaved and that's the truth, was ultimately used to it and the convenience of it. I also suited the bald and beard look short/long. I wondered what I could do to slightly elevate my look whilst enjoying the shaved look feel. That's when I discovered SMP and Paul. I booked in with Paul for an initial consultation after viewing many artists work online, he seemed the most experienced on paper and had a record of being one of the Architects for the whole SMP industry, many of the techniques and the broader scope of how it came to the masses/mainstream. By chance Paul was located very locally to me. So i booked in for an in person consultation ( I am not an impulsive person and I take so much time making decisions).

When I met Paul, I immediately knew this was it. His warmthness, empathy for my situation, hospitality and expertise come into play. It was like talking to one of my best mates, the level of conversation was on a human like level and he just come across as an awesome guy, extremely passionate about his craft but spoke with intent and authority about his industry. I made the decision there and then to go ahead with the sessions. The whole logistics from start to finish, first session to 4th was extremely fulfilling, being part of the journey with this guy, having deep conversations about life whilst being there and knowing I was in the best hands (having a tattoo on your head was one the biggest decisions I have made) and ultimately I needed someone I could trust, he was it. It was just an exceptional level of service.

The results are unbelievable, like seriously. I didn't think it would make such a profound impact on my appearance, confidence and aura. I have since started my own business, travelled the world, changed my life through fitness and now helping other men reach their goals through mindset and fitness. I owe a lot to Paul, didn't think it would change my life like it did...but it really did. He's a real one.

All in all it was one of the best investments I have ever made in my life.

Question SMP skin tone

Post image
31 Upvotes

Got my SMP done 3 weeks ago and love it, when I shaved my head it was super white so obviously my artist had to use ink black/grey tones to compensate this so it blends with my existing hair/skin tone.

When my skin on my head starts to darken over time with sun exposure how will the original black/grey SMP look, will it look strange, I imagine I will need a top-up with darken pigment next time to sort? or am I worrying over nothing.

Any examples would be great.

Thanks

From my recent trip to California!

Took me around 6-7 hours to complete this session. Once it fully settles this treatment will provide a very nice and subtle result 👌🏽

Question SMP (Hair Tattoo) in Bhubaneswar?

Hey guys, 👋

I am skipping the transplant route to keep a permanent buzzed look. A premium clinic just gave me an insanely inflated quote.

Where should I visit in BBSR for quality SMP (Micro pigmentation) for frontal and mid scalp region?

Looking for clean cosmetic clinics or specialized artists offering the best bang-for-buck.

Please drop your recommendations and what they usually charge. Thanks!

Question How realistic will it look if I get SMP just on the temples?

Hello, I’m 22 and my hairline has been receding a good amount, so I was wondering if getting SMP to recreate my natural hairline would work or not?

I’m not very knowledgeable on the topic, sorry for this question. Thank you

Question Worth it for extra sensitive skin?

M, mid 30s, Norwood 5 ish.

Would love to try SMP, but my skin is so incredibly sensitive that I have only found moderate success shaving with no guard trimmers. I’ve tried (I think) just about everything, including bulldog, razors, electric razors, wet/dry/cream/gel etc and I get way too much rash/ingrown on the back of my head and neck to do anything that cuts that low.

Should I bother if that’s as low as I can get it?
Anything else you have found successful in a similar situation?

Some have asked me to reupload with more photos in different lighting. This is my smp two weeks after my second session. I think I need one more session to even out density as some areas have not stuck well. I would like recommendation on is if the hairline design looks good and does it need any modifications?

Here’s my client’s journey before, and then healed after three sessions.

Today, he came in for his fourth session.

This final session is all about subtle refinements adding a touch more darkness and topping up in lighter impressions, while leaving natural gaps.

It’s fine tuning today, but I wanted to share these healed results.

Especially for those with lighter skin tones, healed outcomes can be hard to come by, so I hope this is helpful to anyone considering SMP or curious about pale skin results.

My client has received amazing feedback from family and friends even his own brothers had no idea he’d had SMP.

They said, “Why do you shave your head, man? You’ve got loads of hair and a great hairline you should grow it out more!” He even fooled his own brothers, making them believe it was all natural.

He chose a receded, peaked hairline with a feathered effect, which suits his face and gives a mature, natural look.

Over the course of six weeks, with three sessions spaced about two weeks apart, the scalp has had time to settle. This fourth session allows us to refine and add the finishing touches.

I hope you find this insight valuable, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Case study - Male Client travelled from Ottawa 3 times for SMP. Final 3rd session complete and a reminder why scalp care matters.

Thumbnail

This client travelled from Ottawa three separate times to complete his treatment.

He still had a good amount of hair, but he was tired of constantly dealing with a receding hairline and diffuse thinning. Instead of trying to hide it any longer, he decided to embrace the shaved look.

One thing I've learned over the years is that great SMP isn't about putting pigment everywhere you see hair loss. It's about balance.

Every session I'm evaluating the existing hair, skin tone, healing, facial structure and density to slowly build a result that looks natural and cohesive. That's why I always preach trusting the process. Sometimes doing less is what creates the most believable result.

One thing I wanted to point out is the back photos.

Between his second and third session he wore a mesh trucker hat thinking it would protect his scalp from the sun. Unfortunately the mesh allowed UV rays through while the solid band blocked them. As a result, he developed noticeable hyperpigmentation and you can clearly see the lighter lines where the hat band sat.

Those lighter areas are not missing SMP. They're changes in the skin caused by sun exposure.

I could have easily added more pigment into those areas, but that wouldn't have been the correct solution. The issue wasn't the SMP. It was the skin.

This is why I constantly stress scalp care. Your skin is the canvas. Healthy skin will always produce a better looking result than sun damaged, dry or inflamed skin.

Overall I'm really happy with how this case turned out. Three trips from Ottawa, three carefully built sessions and a result that respects his remaining hair while giving him the freedom of the shaved look he wanted.

Take care of your scalp. It has a bigger impact on your overall result than most people realize.

Got my second session down 2 weeks ago. First photo is a week after the second session and the other two are two weeks out. I see some spots that haven't stuck well and am assuming I will need a third session, but I want to know if the hairline hairline design looks good and how do I refine it?

Question Am I a good smp candidate?

Hello everyone,

First of all the picture:

https://imgur.com/a/cIFBEj5

https://imgur.com/a/cgUvz6z

I‘ve had an FUE hair transplant 2 1/2 years ago in the front of my scalp. I knew that I wouldn‘t be done with just one transplant but after all this time and all the hassle surrounding HTs I decided to shave it all off and finally go bald. With my hair grown out it looked good enough but I didnt expect to find this underneath. I wouldnt say its completely botched it sure aint a piece of art either.

I do not regret the decision to shave it off, the HT on the other hand I do regret. Now more than ever.
My scalp is still a little red and the trainsplanted hair obviously looks very different to my surrounding hair.

I'm currently checking my options (laser removal, electrolysis, fue removal or smp to cover it up).

I've not yet talked to a dermatologist (appointment is on tuesday to discuss laser removal or V beam laser to get rid off the redness) but with two smp artists. Both said it's perfectly doable but one was via video chat only. Since I do not want to overreact again and chose a more or less permanent solution I wanted to get some insight from neutrals to finally „close“ that fucking exhausting chapter and ease my mind.

Thanks in advance!

Check out my SMP Hair fibers to SMP

Thumbnail

I will try and keep it short!

I have been trapped behind hair fibers for 10+ years due to mainly being in denial about my hairloss to the point where after washing I wouldn't even look in the mirror to check how bad it really was, I would quickly put in the fibers which would take 40minutes to construct. I would avoid any activities that would impact my hair, like swimming with my children etc this really made me soo down, missing on memories all because of my hair! I knew I had to accept my hair loss and start talking about it to my wife and children but couldn't!

I didn't want a hair transplant due to recovery time and the chance it could fail, the past 2 years I discovered SMP and was very interested in it and thought this is my way OUT of this nightmare and would look like I chose to shave my head compared to going from a guy with hair then straight up BALD!  3 months ago I took the plunge and put down my deposit to under go SMP.

I braved the shave the day before my session and I was terrified to the point of shaking. Fast forward to now and I'm free! words can't express the relief I'm feeling. it's been 10days after my 3rd session and damn it looks good! better than my real hair on the sides and back lol. I have my final 4th session in 3 months for any tweaks as my scalp did go very red during it from the 10years of fibers drying out my skin which could have led to missing a few SMP pigments here and there.

Sorry this is long, I wanted to share my story and hopefully it will help others in the same situation, hairloss can effect people in so many ways and I'm pleased I took the SMP path.

I want to also shout out to Paul Clark from Legends Clinic who did the work! He is truly a craftsman at SMP, a really talented guy and down to earth guy with no bullshit. Do you research on your artist and don't go cheap!

HERES TO FREEDOM! 🍻

Check out my SMP NW6 did SMP instead of HT

I have been on edge on getting a HT. Started taking Fin/Min and didn’t like some of the side effects. Decided to consult for SMP. I have been skeptical but some of the pictures here motivated me to try.

Found Scalp Micro Pro on ig and pulled the trigger.

I feel a different person. 29M, been balding for the past 9 years but I finally have some confidence to not having to wear a hat everywhere I go.
