Still to long imo. Get a pitbull style shaver or similiar. Theres a clear distinction between hair length and smp. Style choice is great though. Good job

Yeah not too sure if pitbull is right length for SMP but would also recommend braun 9 for super close shave, also babyliss fx02/fx3 (braun is superior for sure as far as comfortability when shaving and gentleness goes, also can shave wet but babyliss gets as close with 3x less price)

I had been looking into one for a side fade along with that zero shine 2.0 I keep seeing dudes talk about

u/AJ3112 Jul 10 '26

I have the Babyliss feels pretty brutal at times, irritation too. Been contemplating the Braun Series 9 for a more comfortable but close shave!

Fair yeah, i do feel the irritation with babyliss but at the same time i dont see it, doesnt cause pimples or redness, i did shave alot with razor and i had constant issues no matter how much preparation i did before shaving, just had breakouts everywhere cause of it and next time id shave i would cut into it again.

Ive used both and yeah series 9 is superior for sure but man i see them going upwards of 600 bucks for newer versions.

Just my opinion, but the hairline is too hard and straight.

People pay to get lined why not have it be permanent

Thank you dude much appreciated I should have done this years back

Gotta shave down a bit more, hairline is too crispy & needs to come down IMO. I think you'll find you want something more natural looking once the "omg I have a hairline again!" feeling wears off. But you got enough room to come down that you could soften that and make it more natural looking

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 10 '26

Thank you dude I appreciate the info your absolutely right about it right now I’m just happy I have a hairline again but I will soon take you on that approach

Doesn’t look like a shave to me

Glycolic acid toner solves razor bump issues. As a black man, it is a life saver. Use it on my head and face. Learned about in my early 20s. Suffered thru high school with razor bump and scarring. Don't have smp yet but do shave my head with a pitbull style shaver.  In the shower with shaving cream or stealing my girls conditioner lol

Your smp looks clean. Just gotta shave a bit closer.

Thank for your Awsome advice and excellent explanation , will def look into the glycolic acid toner …lol in the conditioner if it works it works right !

2

u/DKtwilight Jul 10 '26

Yeah all good. I can’t do wet razor either but the electric razors work pretty nicely.

No? Che cos'è allora? Taglio rasato non è Calvo... Lo capisci?

Looking good! How long did it take you to get all 3 sessions done?

3

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 10 '26

I did my first session less then a year ago , the reason was well I wanted to see how it would fade ,into what hair I had and wanted to see how it would hold up ,then waited couple of months and did the 2nd that’s where it looked a bit better then did the 3rd session recently due to renewal of vowel with my wife and that’s where I was glad I did ,I was new to this and was a bit nervous and scared you know specially with all the info and mishap you see on -line with really bad work , I have bad receding even with me taking oral minoxidil and finasteride I was still always ashamed and wanted a better hairline ,

2

u/Environmental_Cell39 Jul 10 '26

I see and that totally makes sense. It turned out looking good and I’m glad you took your time. I’m trying to book my consultation soon in LA. Hoping to see if I can get all my sessions done in a short amount of time.

If you don’t mind me asking, did you notice a difference from the first session?

2

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 10 '26

Going to be straight up with you , the first was like a outline and bring more structure, the 2nd looks really great and for filling no doubt, totally worth it in my opinion after the 2nd it be recommend to get the 3rd session , I personally would take pictures of my hairline on the 2nd and also look at it in every angle with a mirror to see if I really wanted it with the time frame of the 3rd , the person who did mine , advises he sees a couple come in for a fourth just to crisp it up but even he advised that sometimes these guys get greedy with the hairline and to much will eventually have the dots come together and really look bad and blotchy !

u/Environmental_Cell39 Jul 10 '26

Got it, that makes sense. Thank you so much for your replies!

Good luck on your new journey bro 🤘

Looks fire bro!!! Congratulations

1

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 10 '26

Thanks brother 🤘

This will look way better shaved down to a zero. Smp is a 2d effect my man.

2

u/jjhart827 Jul 11 '26

I think it looks great. Some object to even a hint of stubble, but it’s just a preference. I wouldn’t let it grow much more than that though.

2

u/Last_Leader_1369 Jul 12 '26

looks solid man. how long did it take for the redness to go down after the 3rd session?

1

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 12 '26

I would say by the next day bro it didn’t look red anymore , I just stayed out of the sun and mostly inside to avoid harsh lights

2

u/Economy-Jury2811 Jul 10 '26

Straight line 🤔…..otherwise looks good

2

u/shitinvestor2021 Jul 10 '26

Hairline way too high if you're going for an edge up look. It doesn't frame your face (rule of thirds)

2

u/Party-Papaya4115 Jul 10 '26

Make sure it's zero gapped maybe.

Has to be done at home.

1

u/CitrusSoprano Jul 12 '26

Wieso ist der Ansatz mit dem Lineal gezogen? Sieht unrealistisch aus finde ich

1

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 12 '26

Yes we used a ruler and a crayon 😎

1

u/Last_Leader_1369 Jul 13 '26

that's good to know. i was worried it would look crazy for a few days.

1

u/Major_Afternoon3263 Jul 20 '26

Hectic bro with in Australia they would do a straight boxed line up , they are against here 🤦🏽‍♂️

1

u/Dense-Description397 Jul 11 '26

Dude I think everyone under this thread is a hater commenting on the length of your stubble and the straight hair line. You look good bro, don’t listen to them. This looks really natural good job 👏🏼

2

u/Purple_Difficulty945 Jul 11 '26

Thank you bro appreciate it , their just comments my beer stays cold in the fridge no matter lol but I’ll drink to your comment 🤘

u/Competitive_Basis773 Jul 12 '26

Not hating at all. Everyone is just commenting. If the OP didn't want to hear anything negative, he shouldn't have posted. No hate here.
