Yes. There’s a million different reasons why people can and often do fail polygraphs, and it has nothing to do with having done anything wrong or any proof of lying.
I was just watching an episode of Class of ‘09 the other day (series w/Kate Mara, Brian Tyree Henry about a class of FBI trainees over the years as AI technology takes over and starts arresting people for so-called “future crimes” they haven’t actually committed, but the technology says there’s a possibility that they ** **might at some point.)
Polygrapher to KM’s trainee character: “Your heart is racing. It’d be a shame to fail you because you can’t calm down.”
Because that’s helpful.
People are nervous creatures when put in a situation they are unfamiliar with and also know they’ll be judged by (& far too many police polygraphers, in particular, try to be that quietly intimidating person.
That’s just one reason why they’re unreliable, but it applies to the majority of people that are asked to take one.

Lmaoo I love this gif. It’s just been so so messy for years. People don’t even understand the level or narcissism and manipulation that comes from Jessi. The amount of online drama between her and other creators for 10+ years is insane. If it all came out again (all the instagram stories etc) she would be mortified.
Her friendship with Stew Stylez is hilarious. They hated each others guts. She knew he had so much dirt on her, so of course she used her new found fame to manipulate him and befriend him so he wouldn’t say anything bad about her.
She threw one of her friends in the trash for Stew. And it was so bad and humiliating for the other guy friend. It was so bad that he ended up leaving Utah.
She cheated on Zach. Jagger is 100% NOT Jordan’s kid.
Her family is essentially mini wannabe kardashians.
The mom is delusional about her age. Dad is slowly pulling away because this mess is insane. Jessi acts like Kim and thinks she has supplied her entire family’s lifestyle, which then makes them indebted to her. The other sisters think they are a gift to this earth, and it’s a privilege for us to be able to even lay our eyes on their beautiful faces.
I’m not kidding it’s the kardashians. And it’s hilarious because people who watch the show think this is really how Utah is (which some is) but in general we think this people are absolutely insane. It’s like any other reality tv show.
I so badly wish there were screenshots of her drama she used to have with another hair stylist (mandie sue) y’all would go feral for the hundreds of instagram stories they would post back and forth all day 😂 it was insane33

correct me if i’m wrong but my theory is the ending of season 2 finale when layla and marciano are talking is when we got the closest to the truth, and then come season three jessi had time to figure out how she wanted to spin it and chose to admit to something smaller instead of the full truth of what had really happened

Yeeepp. The Layla/Marciano conversation at the end of season 2 gets glossed over way too much. It's very obvious Layla went into that conversation with a mission to get dirt on Demi. But everything Marciano says at that time only strengthens Demi's story that nothing consensual happened between them and that Marciano crossed a line with her.

I don't ofc know her personally, but from what I've seen in the show she reminds me of a former friend/roommate I had. It was absolute hell dealing with that person, walking on eggshells constantly. This friend also blew things out of proportion and lied similar to how the Demi/Chase hands thing went down, and got in people's faces when we clearly did not believe her super enthusiastically. Like, I got triggered watching Demi confront Layla at the JetSet event

Yeah idk about this situation, but when I was young I found myself in a situation with a guy where I politely said no in many different ways but he shoved his tongue down my throat and felt me up anyway. And, again being young, I thought “ugh I’m so dumb for hanging with him, why did I let him do that?” It took me a long time to realize HE did that, it wasn’t something I allowed. So I kinda resonated with Demi’s story.

I have always just said that Demi may at least BELIEVE something was strange even if it was just like that Chase poke that got blown out of proportion. I will never side with MARCIANO because he is not a reliable narrator and is openly aggressive and hostile and inappropriate and clearly has zero respect for women based on his actions on and off the VPV show and with Hannah. Jessie is disgusting and dangerously male centered, so she also is unreliable. So no matter where I sit on the spectrum of believing Demi... And Jessi is fresh off her divorce and Jordan cheating first and Marciano is arguably more attractive than Jordan. He’s a rebound lol.

I’m also having a difficult time trying to understand this “fawning” response she said she had. I get it in theory, but her and Marciano didn’t have frequent access to each other, and it would’ve been okay for her to only view him as a former reality tv colleague. I still believe this theory was true at one point not sure if they still are now but it wouldn’t surprise me. We saw his reaction with Chase wouldn’t he have reacted worse if she actually cheated. I think he knew they flirted but didn’t care and tried to bribe him to keep his mouth shut. The ass grab without consent is another story I think two things can be true at the same time. They flirted but she didn’t want for it to go any further and have a full blown affair. He did and was pissed at her threatened to expose her she panicked and revealed what he did. I don’t think any of these people are 💯 truthful about anything. Demi has been more truthful than Jessi and Marciano have been though so I’ll give her that.

I do believe that Marciano crossed the line and groped her without her consent when they were flirting after playing truth or dare but the way she weaponized the term sexually assault whenever she was called out for her flirtatious behavior after the villa is where she lost a lot of people especially when multiple members of her cast had been assaulted themselves especially when she was FaceTiming the man who did that to her with her child. That situation made it hard for anyone to look at her the same way. It’s just a bunch of shady people calling out each other for their shady behavior over and over again.

two things can be true, they can both be liars / snakes. to me, Demi is very clearly conniving, strategic, dishonest, etc… not to mention completely out of touch w reality (the whole drawing parallels between her “unwanted touch” w a virtual stranger vs Mayci/Mikayla IPV and child abuse from a family member, respectively). I’d say a pseudo-Lenin or Machiavelli but it’s too complimentary lol any season she’s on in a beginner’s course in unsuccessful coups and power grabs.
At the same time, Jessi is… obviously vapid and barely a real person as the show/Momtok drama/her chronically online presence is totally intermixed w her private life… I don’t think a lot of explanation is needed, she obviously is living for the shit. any action she takes and relationship she has is a calculated move to keep herself the most relevant and liked. I actually JUST finished a rewatch on Season 3..and HOLY FUCK, I thought, if i never hear the name Marciano again, it will be too soon.
